So clever, genius idea! Super efficient and slick!

I came across ivee after seeing Lydia’s Dragons’ Den post and decided to try their free CV review and I’m so glad I did.

The feedback was incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and easy to action. It gave me clear examples, strong rewrite suggestions, and advice that actually felt personal to my experience.

You can tell the team really cares about helping people get back into work. Such a brilliant initiative that makes career support so much more accessible, highly recommend! 👏🏼

I like the fact that all parts of the cv are touched. I’m in a better position now to apply for bigger roles.

I tested the early product trial Lydia had promoted on LinkedIn. The pitch: email your CV and get a free review within 15 minutes.

Ivee delivers on its promise. I ran two tests, both of which returned useful results. There were some minor glitches and one clear AI hallucination (details below). But I’m confident those will be ironed out in later versions of the product. Congrats, Ivee, big fan!

Timing:

In her LinkedIn post, Lydia promises a review within 15 minutes after emailing your CV. I receive a response after 7 minutes. Well done! ✅

Quality:

The review comes as part of the email copy, not as a separate document attached, which should make it quick and easy to dive in. 👍

“Should” because in this early version it doesn’t (yet): The generated text is embedded as one big blurb without a single line break. You can see the traces of Markdown (dashes for list items, three dashes for horizontal lines etc), but it doesn’t get parsed, so the whole thing is actually quite hard to decipher. I end up pasting it into a Google doc and apply formatting manually. This isn’t a biggie for a v1, and once formatting gets applied, the comprehensive structure of the review will shine in its full glam and glory.

The review itself focuses on ATS (Applicant Tracking System) optimisation, and it’s mostly on point. 👍

At one point the AI clearly hallucinates: it suggests some edits for my CV intro and claims the keyword-heavy result is shorter than my original, while in fact it’s almost 200% the word count.

Apart from that glitch, the added keywords make sense, but I also like my original intro. So I end up asking ChatGPT Plus to compare the two versions. Assessment: my original version sounds more authentic and will appeal to humans, while Ivee’s edits definitely work better for ATS. So I’ll use both, I guess.

Data privacy:

The email clearly discloses the involvement of AI, which sparks some initial trust for me as a user. ✅

It also mentions that I’m automatically being opted in to Ivee’s marketing mailing list. While I appreciate the transparency, this arguably poses a GDPR violation. Yes, some quid pro quo should be expected if you participate in a LinkedIn growth hack, but honestly, what’s the harm in using an opt-in link instead? ⚠️

The email mentions nothing about the use of my CV data. Is it being used to train a proprietary AI model? I would hope not without my consent, after all we’re talking about sensitive personal data. But the lack of data privacy considerations that transpire from the opt-in move leaves a crack in my initial user trust. Explicit reassurance would be highly appreciated here.

[EDIT] I reached out with a data erasure request, which I do routinely and which they processed incredibly quickly, with spot on comms. They also confirmed they did NOT use my CV data for AI training. Trust fully restored! ✨✨✨[/EDIT]

Conclusion:

Promising value delivery – iron out some glitches and rethink data privacy as an instrument of product design and storytelling to build extra trust with old farts like this guy. 👏

Super clear, helpful and useful

Used cv review tool via email, quick helpful advice given with specific enhancements that are easy to follow/do. Interesting!

I thought I may get very generic advice that wasn’t tailored to my cv or experience- wow, what I received was so much better. Advice on why i should make the change to stand out as well as clear examples of where to make improvements- thank you so much. On to the next stage of putting myself out there !

Fantastic course. So much useful information, very clearly explained by knowledgeable people. The world of work is brutal right now, this felt like a soft landing in a very competitive and confusing new landscape.

I had so much confidence in my CV. I made sure that each section was well labelled and contained relevant information. I was wrong! After submitting the CV for a review, the feedback opened my eyes. I had overlooked some things that were so vital. Things like using strong action verbs and concise bullet points were not part of my CV. I love that an example or a rephrase of what was contained in the CV is provided for reference. Thank you ivee!

Excellent, relevant and easy to understand guidance. I loved the layout of the CV advice and the encouraging aspects of how this was delivered.

Have used a couple of CV AI review tools and they were 'fine' but this one was so much better. Clear suggestions that made sense and left me asking why I'd originally written it like that! So easy to get carried away with knowing yourself and your skills rather than looking from the recruiter perspective, and this comes at it from a really constructive position. Highly recommended.
