Hi James. I had a brief zoom call with one of your associates, Joshua, today. Well, let's just say, this probably wasn't his day. :( Even though I clearly wrote down in my request what I seek help with, based on your YouTube videos, his first sentence was, "well, we can't help with that, we serve businesses", (in a surprisingly cold and disinterested manner), to which my first thought was, "then why did I rush home to make this zoom call and why are we having this conversation?"
Then he proceeded to tell me that I won't be able to change my residential address with my bank unless I am in the US in person, which is false (I'm an expat, currently living overseas). In the meantime I'm not sure what he was doing but his eyes were darting all over the screen (either he was playing a videogame or was in the middle of an app/chat, not sure) and one had the feeling he was not paying attention whatsoever. There were awkwardly long pauses between his short sentences. Quite frankly, I don't think I've ever received such bad customer service here in the US.

I give you permission to use that recorded phone call during associate trainings, to teach the new colleagues how NOT TO handle a case.

I´ve worked with James Baker & Associates Corp in 2024 and 2025 so far. My experience has been great. I had the company and banking already set up before I started working with them, but they were very helpfull helping me open a secondary business bank account with a bank that I couldn´t do myself and kept getting rejected while trying online, and changing my LLC from one state to another was also a smooth process. Also they have been very knowledgeable and helpfull regarding my business tax situation and had helped me navigate my singular tax situation as non resident LLC owner very well so far. All annual forms and compliance with the IRS have been submitted without any issues and always on time. I would recommend 100%.

James baker and Associates have been exceptional - no other way to describe them. It was lucky I came across them as another firm I was using almost cost me thousands through errors they were making. Not only did they save me from the huge fees of submitting my LLC return late but they also picked up on the fact that the other firm had incorrectly calculated the amount I owed. This year, they were proactive in contacting me to get the ball rolling quickly and my retunr has been submitted and approved and it is only early feb. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Promised U.S. bank account, couldn’t deliver, then charged to dissolve the company

I engaged James Baker & Associates as a non-U.S. resident based on their explicit representations that they could help open a physical U.S. business bank account remotely. This was the core reason I purchased their “Peace of Mind + Banking” package.

The company formation itself was completed, but despite months of effort, extensive documentation, and full cooperation on my side, they were unable to successfully open a physical U.S. bank account as represented. Each proposed option either failed, changed materially from what was initially described, or came with requirements that made it impractical.

Because the business had no ability to operate without a bank account, I requested to stop and unwind the structure. I was then charged an additional $1,500 to dissolve a company that only existed because of their banking claims.

While a partial refund was issued, the dissolution fee was retained. From my perspective, this fee would not have existed had the service been accurately represented from the beginning.

Communication was initially responsive, but once refund discussions began, the tone shifted to rigid policy language. Even after the CEO acknowledged the situation in later conversations, the firm ultimately declined to adjust their position.

I am sharing this so other non-U.S. founders clearly understand the risks and limitations before relying on banking representations. I would strongly recommend getting written, bank-specific confirmation directly from the bank before proceeding with similar services.

I normally never write negative reviews, but I feel I have to share my experience.

I hired James Baker & Associates to assist me with my ITIN application. I paid for the service almost 12 months ago, and since then I have not received a single update, confirmation of submission, tracking number, or any proof that my application was actually filed with the IRS.

The only replies I received were promises that it was being “prioritized,” but nothing concrete ever followed. My follow-up emails over the past months also remained unanswered. At this point I still have no ITIN, no confirmation, and no clarity which is extremely stressful when you’re trying to run a business across borders.

What’s most disappointing is the total lack of communication and transparency. Processing times can vary, I understand that, but 11–12 months with zero updates or evidence of progress is simply unacceptable for a paid professional service.

I hope this review helps others manage expectations. I genuinely wish the company would improve their communication, because right now I cannot recommend their service based on my experience.

Great team. Very organised and skilled at what they do. James was hands on working with me to address many of my questions. I would highly recommend, especially for non-residents that want to explore capacities of working with a market like US.
