Bought a car from this dealer and the experience has been very disappointing. They failed to complete the new keeper details, so I still have no log book, and I was never given the green slip. I’ve had to pay £25 for this,

As part of the sales agreement, the car was supposed to have a service completed, but there is no documentation or evidence this was ever done.only a tick sheet which is not good enough, The vehicle was also sold as an Overfinch, yet no proof or supporting paperwork has been provided it was advertised as an overfinch but really it was overpriced as no proof, I was told this model does not have a handbook after speaking to Land Rover it should and I’ve been able to purchased one,

The brakes were not in good condition and I’ve had to spend my own money putting issues right since buying the car. Trying to contact them afterwards has been pointless as the after-sales service has been non-existent. I would advise others to be cautious. Tried to sell us warranty for twelve months however it would start straight away , we didn’t take it out,
We were told to take it to a vat garage to get a diagnostic test however we would be out of pocket, so it was easier to take to Land Rover to have a full service which cost £512 and is on the service history, I have applied to overfinch for verification that has cost £90, I’ve yet to get the 360 cameras fixed, so on top of the buying price I’ve been out of pocket for a car which should of been up for sale around £16000 I’ve yet to go to trading standards with all my evidence, after reading their reply what a load of rubbish if you cannot take the truth don’t make up lies,

We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience and we do take all customer feedback seriously. However, we do feel a number of points within this review require clarification for balance and accuracy.

Firstly, regarding the V5/logbook, we purchased this vehicle directly from a main dealer and were supplied with a photograph of the V5, which is why the vehicle was able to be taxed correctly at the point of sale. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to ourselves, the DVLA system would not allow the change of keeper to be completed online. We have since been awaiting the original V5 document from the supplying dealer so the application can be processed manually with DVLA. This issue has therefore not been caused by any refusal or failure on our part to register the vehicle correctly.

In relation to the service, the vehicle did undergo our standard preparation process prior to sale, including inspection and servicing work where required. We use an independent VAT-registered garage for our preparation and servicing work, who provide invoices to us on a quarterly basis rather than individually at the time of each vehicle sale. Once we receive the relevant invoice ourselves, we will happily forward a copy across. The tick sheet provided also forms part of our internal pre-delivery inspection process.

Regarding the Overfinch styling, the vehicle was advertised exactly as presented, with Overfinch styling enhancements fitted to the vehicle. At no stage was it represented as a factory-built or officially converted Overfinch vehicle with manufacturer certification, and we would strongly dispute any suggestion that the vehicle was intentionally misdescribed. If this was a concern, it could and should have been raised and discussed at the point of sale rather than only after purchase.

The “service book” point also requires clarification, as modern Land Rover vehicles no longer typically come with stamped physical service books, with servicing now generally recorded digitally or supported via invoices and online history. This is standard practice across many manufacturers and not something unique to this vehicle.

With regard to the brakes and subsequent maintenance costs, this is a used vehicle with age and mileage and wear-and-tear items can deteriorate over time following purchase depending on usage. The brakes were independently checked prior to sale, the vehicle was supplied with a new MOT with zero advisories, and there was also no mention or advisory relating to the brakes on the previous MOT history. You also declined the extended Warrantywise warranty package that was offered at the point of sale for additional protection and peace of mind.

We are also disappointed by the comments regarding aftersales support. Anthony did speak directly with your husband in an attempt to assist and explain matters, however the call was ended abruptly whilst he was still trying to help and discuss the concerns raised. We have responded to communications and provided guidance where possible, including advising that any diagnostic work should be carried out by a VAT-registered garage so concerns could be properly assessed.

We always encourage customers to contact us directly to allow an opportunity to resolve concerns before leaving damaging public reviews. Nonetheless, we wish you the best moving forward and thank you again for your feedback.

Brilliant from beginning to end and beyond!

Brilliant from beginning to end and beyond too.
An immaculately presented black Golf GTI advertised by JRR Cars on Autotrader caught our eye. Despite being competitively priced, the car was turned out head & shoulders above the multitude of other manuals examples for sale.
Had to travel couple of hours to Chorley, Paul looked after the test drive and the sale; totally hassle free, arranged a couple of minor things to be addressed before collection keeping us posted as each item addressed.
Post-sale, John sorted out a minor issue that unexpectedly arose without any drama whatsoever, just very professional, courteous and nothing other than completely reasonable.
Our experience with JRR Cars has been exceptional, we could not have asked for better service and would not hesitate in recommending or indeed buy from JRR again.
Absolutely spot on, thank you Gentlemen.

I bought a car from JRR had a couple of issues with it but they put it in the garage to be sorted unfortunately there was a lot of issues with car , the rang me to bring the car back and arrange a full refund , unfortunately I had my daughter in hospital and was really stuck without a car so they let me use it until I got sorted ,
True to their word when I returned the car the full refund was straight in my bank there and then, I dealt with neil & Phil who were very helpful.
I would highly recommend this garage and would trust buying a car from them

Buying a used car is not always terrible

Travelled over 100 miles to view a car I liked at JRR cars in Chorley.
Just what I was looking for at the right price, a few jobs needed done and were all taken care of for collection just over a week later.
Found the whole process from start to finish really easy with the help of Anthony, Paul and Neil who collected me from the train station.
Professional outfit and would definitely recommend if you’re looking to buy a used car.
BTW absolutely love my new Golf.

JRR CARS VERY POOR SERVICE

I purchased a Range Rover sport November 2025 and on my initial visit Neil was great like all salesman wanting to clinch the deal . We discussed several things in relation to the purchase and we agreed that a full service would be carried out on the vehicle imcluding the EML that was showing . It was also agreed that all work carried out on my vehicle invoices will be provided . I have everything documented in emails. On the day of collecting the vehicle no invoices no proof work had been carried out , only promises that imvoices would follow . I had the vehicle for a week before flying out for 5 weeks . I have now been driving the vehicle for two weeks the EML is on ? I have still not recieved my outstanding invoices if any work was carried out. I was bery cautious before purchasing after reading all the poor reviews about this company . Sales process great after service very poor . Will be contacting trading services to reject the car and demand a full refund.

Fantastic aftersales support

I recently bought my car from JRR Cars, travelling from the south coast to collect it. Phil kept in touch all the way through the process, instilling confidence in the dealership and this was reinforced when after I'd got the car home we discovered that the brake discs were badly worn and the pads fitted were actually incorrect.
I prepared myself for a fight with the dealership, but after I sent my initial email, Anthony got in touch and immediately said get them all sorted and we'll reimburse you, seeing as I was 260 miles away!
True to his word, I sent the invoices over (which were not cheap) and within an hour I had the money in my bank account.
It's great to deal with a company that actually cares that their customers are happy and not just grabbing your money!

i had a terrible experience when I recently bought a used car from this company. After making a £4,500 deposit, I soon found out the car had major issues. According to UK consumer law, specifically the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which stipulates that a buyer has the right to reject a defective vehicle within 30 days and receive a complete refund, I promptly returned the vehicle.
However, this dealer withheld £800 without providing a good reason, refusing to return my entire investment and only returning £3,700. This is illegal as well as unethical. To other prospective customers: * They do not respect your legal rights; * Do not entrust your money to this company. They provide unprofessional customer service, and evasive

We’re sorry to hear you was dissatisfied with your experience. However, we feel it’s important to clarify the facts of the situation.

Shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle, the customer reported a noise coming from the brakes. We were informed — both by the customer and their local garage — that a stone had lodged between the brake pad, causing the noise. This is a rare but natural occurrence and not a fault with the car itself. Unfortunately, the customer chose not to remove it immediately, which may have contributed to their concerns.

Additionally, the boot latch issue was reported to us and acknowledged straight away. This is a common and minor fault, and we immediately offered to repair it at no cost to the customer.

As for the request to return the car, the customer’s wife informed our salesman directly that the car was simply too large for their needs — a reason that does not qualify for rejection under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which covers faults, not buyer’s remorse or suitability issues.

We acted professionally and in good faith throughout the process. However, due to the nature of the return, administrative and re-preparation costs were incurred, which is why £800 was retained from the refund. We stand by our handling of the matter and regret that the customer has chosen to present a one-sided account of events.

We remain committed to providing transparent and fair service to all of our customers.

Very easy transaction. Neil is really friendly and helpful. Having the train station right next door was great. The car we purchased is of great quality and was sold at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend using this company.

Sold me a vehicle which is faulty

Sold me a vehicle which is faulty, when I complained about it, I was met with "you didn't buy our extended warranty, and the vehicle has done 113000 miles" if the vehicle is of high mileage, then why sell it? It's your name against the vehicle, mileage is irrelevant, especially under the consumer rights act 2015. The fact I complained, and they only responded to 1 email before ignoring me. I have since had to go to the financial ombudsman.

I hate to think how many other customers these lot have duped with complaints, when the consumer has an actual right to having their vehicle fixed. Awful "dealership", you only need to look at how they respond to 1-star reviews and see how petty they are. They call it "straight talking" but it's actually self-entitled rudeness.

This is a warning to anyone, don't think for a moment that buying from a "dealership" will give you added benefits or protection. You are better off buying the vehicle from some random person on Facebook marketplace.

They have also opted me into marketing recently without my consent.

we were pleased with the service and…

we were pleased with the service and professionalism of the company but we had the car 2 months and had to pay for a full clutch £1395 was gutted rang the garage but they said we had go through warranty people, needed the car for work asap, had to call out RAC which cost me £75 never had any trouble with any other cars i have purchased. Very disappointed that they sold us a car which obviously had a clutch problem its a big expense and used all our savings!!

Good Evening, sorry you have felt you have needed to leave us a negative review. There was no known fault with the clutch at the time of purchase and a clutch doesn’t have a time scale as is user dependent. Every car sold comes with a Nationwide warranty with Warrantywise, any claim needs to be authorised and documented. Any repair that hasn’t been authorised by the warranty company prior to repair cannot be paid. If the process would have been followed correctly this should have been covered on your warranty.

I never write a review straight away

I never write a review straight away, so 6/7 months after purchasing my car. I took it to the garage due to issues. The garage couldn’t believe I had just bought the car!!! It had complete different brake pads on all 4 corners, with all different wear. The calipers were not worthy and had to be replaced. There was egr issues and a damaged sump. The car had random rusty screws under the bonnet that the mechanic was confused about. Basically don’t leave a review straight away no matter how genuine the salesman appears. Take a mechanic to view the cars your interested in, better that. Just avoid ideally.

Soon as my finance was agreed Neil was straight on the case and ensured everything was sorted. Fresh mot, full service and immaculate condition inside and out. A proper high end dealership with some amazing cars. Definitely recommend and will be changing up in a few years. Thanks JRR.

Just purchased a used car from JRR cars. We dealt with Neil who was totally professional from the moment we walked in. Gave us a fair price for our PX too.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending JRR, loved their no nonsense approach too, it was a breath of fresh air to the motor industry. Also a shout out to Connor (I hope I have his name correct) who did the handover.
