We have just ordered our third machine, this time a shredder. Our two biltong dryers are going well, and we'll be ordering our third dryer within the next year. Highly recommend. Warren is fantastic to deal with, offering great customer service - responds to messages way beyond normal working hours.

Worse company I have dealt with in a very long time and their products are even worse. Faulty cabinet that malfunctioned and burnt my biltong.
Hope people do their full research and don't buy any of their products. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing from Kalahari UK.

I paid £329 for a KK12 Kalahari Khabu Biltong Boss on 1 August 2026. When I set it up, the front door was misaligned and would not close properly or engage with the magnets. I reported this on 9 August and tried to help resolve the problem rather than immediately insisting on a return.

On 17 August, Kalahari sent a return label and said they would send a replacement “shortly”. I packed the machine, printed the label and asked how to arrange collection. I then had to chase repeatedly by email and WhatsApp. It wasn’t until 1 September that I received an email directing me to a DPD drop-off point.

I returned the machine and have confirmation that it was delivered on 2 September. I chased again on 11 September and, as of 19 September, still had no update on the replacement. I have now requested a refund.

Seven weeks after spending £329, I have been unable to use the machine and have spent far too much time trying to get this resolved. A faulty product is frustrating enough, but the prolonged gaps in communication and repeated need to chase have made the experience considerably worse.

Based on my experience, I would not buy from Kalahari again. I am now doing a chargeback through my bank to get my funds back - since they have both the machien and my money.

The KKAger has been one of those life changing experiences where the quality of the KKAger itself made the task at hand so very easy resulting in restaurant quality aged meat without any fuss or challenge whatsoever. I thought there might be a learning curve and was prepared to lose a batch here or there but I need not have worried. After 21 days in the KKAger I started sampling various cuts and continued right up to 42 days and longer. Prior to receiving my KKAger I did not know any of this was even possible. This is a game changer with which to impress family and friends, elevate your BBQ or braai experience and jump in. I rate this product and experience a full five stars.

I order a product that was listed as "available in back order" I received it within a week. Fantastic.
I also reached out on their contact details from their website and got quick and accurate responses.
The product itself was just as awesome as the service. I bought the manual meat grinder and the quality was obvious as soon as i unboxed it. I put some deer offcuts and brisket throught it and it made amazing mince with the greatest of ease. It went through meat effortlessly.
I have also used a friend's kk12 biltong dryer and that is a seriously impressive bit of kit that I will be adding to my kitchen shortly!!

I’m a hunter and process my own meat for the freezer, so having a good mincer is important. I’ve put around 15kg of beef and fat through the KKSL08 for normal mince and 70/30 sausage meat, and the difference from my cheap Trade Me mincer is huge.

It runs incredibly smoothly, feels very durable and commercial grade, and cleaning is a breeze. It came with two blades, and when the sausage casings were accidentally missed from my order, their after sales support sorted it quickly and without hassle.

Awesome product and great customer service. Highly recommend!

Feels like a scam from lack of communication. I live in the US and I understand it’s shipping overseas and that takes time and there’s delays. But lack of communication when I’ve asked multiple times to tell me the unit has at the very least shipped, unacceptable

Purchased KK12 unit that said was in stock but wasn't. Waited 2 weeks for unit to arrive. Unfortunately unit arrived damaged. This was then returned and replaced. This time unit arrived with 2x Australian plugs and no promotional spices. Contacted Kalahari and have not had a reply.

Poor / slow response to resolve issues. Unit quality is also not fantastic. Unfortunately will not recommend to friends. A shame really.

I had been researching and thinking about getting a biltong cabinet for a couple of years.
Eventually I made my choice - a Kalahari Khabu KK12 in the UK.

1st off the unit arrived more or less as stated. Tried & tested with positive results for my first batch of Biltong. The unit is OK. Feels very "Chinese" in it's quality and flimsiness. Durability??? I'm not sure... time will tell.

HOWEVER in the online offer free extras where included - you guessed it - they were nowhere to be found. Annoying, but not a drama as I regularly make biltong so have everything. It's the principle of it - advertising free spices etc and not including them is a balant LIE! MISLEADING ADVERTISING!

I found the included documentation rather confusing as in most instances it referenced a KK11 model or something else. Warranty card was for a KK11??? But I have a KK12. JUST MESSY, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNNECESSARY.

I have reached out to the company in NZ on 2-3 situations via email and given the above issues and requested a remedy. NOT A WORD.

"THE MINUTE THEY HAD MY £££ THAT'S IT" is my gut feeling. Very disappointed as I had better expectations and hope.

At time of writing nothing has changed. No communication from the supplier.

At £329 I hope it doesn't have any issues into the future because based on my personal experience of their non existent customer service I think I might have some headaches, but I shall face that if & when it happens.

I find it so sad that they have obviously spent a lot of time and effort designing and developing a brilliant cabinet which seems fit for purpose and then they let themselves down with questionable quality and ZERO SUPPORT OR CUSTOMER SERVICES. NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOUR PRODUCT DESIGN IS IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BUILD A QUALITY PRODUCT & GIVE SUPPORT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS THEN YOU WILL STRUGGLE. I don't know what has happened with the company.

I bought the Khabu KKS-S which costs a massive £199.
The lid doesn't sit straight and there is a lot of play. I expect better for the price.

I think its fair to say the sales experience was Ok. I wouldn't say it was great. Needs polishing. Telling people that it can take 4 day for the tracking number to update on DPDs website. Sorry try again. It's 2026. Get with the program or get a new courier.

The product support is poor. I have asked questions about the product, but due to time zone difference between UK and New Zealand the responses are very slow as in ask today maybe get an answer tomorrow, or you simply don't get one. Either way its poor.
The product does the job. I like it a lot as cutting biltong by hand is a tedious job. I feel I could of got a better one for a little bit more and am considering returning it because its is so poorly manufactured for the price. And Warren won't answer questions.
Finally the website is poorly designed and you can't see the menu's in Chrome, Edge or firefox. Overall its like dealing with a startup company that has a lots of issues to resolve.

Bought a 12' manual meat grinder based on the photos they use on their website and received a much smaller one of 8'. Contacted the owner to sort it out and he was not interested - "Im too busy".
Apparently the Consumers guarantee's act doesn’t apply to this man. Dirty business practices being used here.
Reported to the commerce commission.
Avoid if you can.

We werent sure which biltong dehydrator to buy and cautious about buying online.

Researched for a phone number and after talking we ordered.

KK12 arrived a couple of days later and its a great product from a good company.
