We absolutely love our KARRI
We absolutely love our KARRI. It is enabling my 10 year old to cycle home from school and gain so independence without having to resort to a smart phone and all the downsides that that potentially holds. Her best friend is also about to be given one so they can chat (with oversight from us) and keep in touch. Customer service has always been prompt and very helpful and I’m so glad that we have found KARRI
Brilliant device for smartphone free childhood
The Karri has been a game-changer for our family. My autistic PDA ADHD son uses it to feel connected to me while gaining a bit more freedom but still staying safe. The voice notes are especially important because he’s also dyslexic, and it’s made communication so much easier for him. I’ve been so impressed that I’ve ordered another one for my daughter!
It’s an affordable positive step towards smartphone-free childhood, giving kids independence without the risks and overwhelm. Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but I completely understand, they’re a new company focused on getting the manufacturing right. The device is very simple to use, and the communication and support from the Karri team have been excellent. Highly recommend!
This is the most perfect alternative to a phone
We have had our Karri for about 9 months and it is the most perfect alternative to giving your child a phone. We use the Karri daily and my son is able to walk to and from school independantly whilst i can see that he is where he is supposed to be. We can also contact each other if required. It's everything I wanted it to be. My only criticism is the battery life but as long as I remember to charge it every evening it is ok.
A fantastic alternative to phones!
A fantastic alternative to giving children phones. It does everything I need it to - GPS tracking with designated safe zones, voice notes and I can save the cute or funny ones. Its completely safe and I love that even in group chats I have full access to what the kids are talking about. The option for the kids to have their friends who also have KARRIs on their chats is great.
My children are both ADHD autistic and they find these really easy to use, simple format. It took some time for my daughter to learn she had to hold the button down the whole time to speak but we got there with practice. Gives me a sense of safety when out and about in busier places as I can track them if they wander off. They even take them when staying at families house so they don't feel anxious about being away from me.
Love the colour choices and the ease of use. Delivery time was delayed but it was a brand new product for presale so that's to be expected! We would like to also try the newer version to see which we prefer and I believe there is the option for discount or something if you have the old KARRI.
The subscription is affordable and I have 2 KARRI devices and recommend them to a lot of people!
Sometimes the GPS doesn't update location as quickly as id like it to but I know that the team are constantly working on it.
The customer service both via email and Instagram are amazing and quick to respond, they've sorted any issues we had promptly too! Looking forward to seeing this grow!

Fantastic phone free childhood!
We got our Karri at the start of the summer as my eldest is starting to walk to school and we wanted a way to keep in contact but without a phone. Also wanted a way for them to connect with their friends in a safe way offline.
Karri is a young start up trying to offer a mobile alternative for children. I think it's an amazing idea and fantastic product. I can understand people may have been upset at the start when their shipments were delayed, but is understandable for a new company. However, I think what they achieve out ways that.
Their customer service have been great and always responded quickly to any issues and resolved our problems.
The Karri itself is great for kids to use, the setup on the app take a bit of working out, but like I said, their team have always been very helpful.
Now my son has started walking, I've been able to set up safe zones where I get an alert when he leaves one or enters (I have one set up for home and school). I can also track him in GPS which works really well. It's really affordable, I got a referral code and have also been using it which works out great value. Plus it's so much more affordable than a mobile!
We're looking forward to when they roll our more chats as I've recommended to a lots of friends and he's excited to have more group chats.
I think it's a fantastic idea, and I'm proud to support this great company and wish them luck as they continue to grow and create more alternatives to mobile phones for our children.
Ordered in March 2025 and still waiting 6 months later
Ordered in March 2025, no updates or communication except when chased and then I was told that my order is delayed because I didn’t also sign up for a subscription and then stock had run out (this wasn’t clear at all when I purchased). As at 6 September 2025 there have been no further updates, and no reply to a message sent over 24 hours ago. There is no way of getting a refund so I will now have to deal with the frustration of progressing a bank chargeback. I want to support a small business but this comes across as a scam and even though the product looks like it could be excellent, it’s been superseded by its own newer model before the original has even turned up.

Ordered June 2024 and still not received. Not saying I need to sign up to the subscription for them to send it!
Why am I having to pay for an old model that I have never had or got to try when a new one is now released. Sort out your outstanding orders before using existing customers money to satisfy new customers orders or a new product.

I think the idea is very good, however Device is a bit too big especially talking about the four years old child and the option of pressing is very confusing as even 10 years old find it difficult to figure out when to press and want to record
I just couldn’t get them to work
I just couldn’t get them to work. The GPS tracker is good, but I was hoping the usability of the messages would be better.
Most the time I get static and not words back. I’m not confident, in any instance, my children would be able to reach out to me, if I let them go off without me. I purchased these to allow some freedom, over the summer holidays. After a few weeks of not getting them working, they’ve sat uncharged and unused. The charge drops quickly, which has meant the moments they’ve wanted to retry them, they haven’t had any charge. All in all, a bit disappointing. Especially as I can’t even used the GPS tracker without renewing the data plan.

The Karri simply never arrived
The Karri simply never arrived. The arrival date was pushed back three times and when asked last night when would it arrive (as they previously said in August and I wanted to confirm I would actually get it) they confirmed that they would not get the products themselves until the end of August, with the product arriving with me by mid-September. I placed my order with a June delivery date, in time for the summer holidays. I so wish I had gone with another product. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel it is so important as so many parents seem to have been let down by this company.
From the reviews of people who have had their product, it seems excellent. If you are willing to put up with constant delivery date pushbacks, go for it.
Customer service response time is impressive, though. They have arranged a refund.

I want to like this
I want to like this. But the battery life isn't great, charge for the recommended time and they die less than 8 hours later even when they haven't been used.
Can't figure out how to add other adults so my child can talk to aunt.
Its actually tricky for my son to use, he has additional needs.
I'm going to contact for a refund.
Staff are nice and respond quickly.
Just needs to be a bit more user friendly and better battery life.

Nothing received and no communication…
Nothing received and no communication since ordered in April. I’ll update this when I receive it with a review about the actual product. If it doesn’t come before I go away in a couple of weeks (as they managed to sell on Amazon following my order so obviously have stock) I’ll cancel and be putting a complaint through to TS.
I wonder if not contacting people with any updates has left a lot of money in their pockets from people who forgot they ever ordered….it really makes me question their integrity of the company altogether.
I also wonder how many of these 5* reviews are real, they seem almost too perfect to me, almost AI like…. 🫣 a bit like people have mentioned their ‘perfectly over polite’ emails have been….another review suggesting having to buy a subscription before shipping the product is wild. You buy the product you should not have to pay for a sub to receive it…. For it to work maybe, but that’s like buying a phone handset and being told they won’t ship until you pay for a sim.
Update: the company emailed stating they emailed me in June (they didn’t) regarding my order and setting up a sub so they could send the product I paid for…apparently before I responded to the non-existent email they decided the ones in my chosen colour way were ‘not in good condition’. They would have offered me another colour but didn’t email to offer this as I hadn’t signed up to a subscription (again, not the physical item I ordered which should have been sent regardless). Since then they all ran out…apparently. I wonder how much money they have made so far on UNSENT items, plus interest in accounts from this money that they used to develop a new item with. I’d be interested to know how many people have forgotten about their order and if they remember they’ll get the same rubbish about ‘an email was sent, we withheld the item you paid for as you didn’t sign up for the sub’. Although I’m sure there was an option to sign up for the subscription upon ordering….
Excellent Product!
I managed to get one of these (I guess by luck) on Amazon UK and missed the long waiting line.
It is is brilliant. My 6 year old picked up how to work it quickly. The GPS is accurate. My son loves sending messages to all of us and I am looking forward to him being able to contact us when he is at play dates with friends. Absolutely ticks all the boxes. I have pre-ordered a gen 2 as that one looks even better but the gen 1 we have is excellent.

After finally getting my hopes up that my device will finally be shipped out as they keep promising me via email, they now ask me to sign up to a membership subscription before they will dispatch the item. Now that is shady. Just price the device correctly to begin with or be honest.

I haven’t had an experience! NOW UPDATED FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE
I haven’t had an experience because money has been taken for something they haven’t delivered. Ordered Dec 24 in a “preorder” due in Feb. June next week and still not delivered.
In the meantime I find out from their Instagram that they have released on “preorder” a better model. So I have waited months for something that is now obsolete. Presumably money from the preorders has been used to fund development of the better model.
Addendum: after leaving this review I was contacted by Karri who provided me with three units (in different colours than those ordered, but I wasn't too worried about that). Their customer service - once I had made a fuss - was excellent. I understand that this is a start up company, but it could still do to focus more on under promise, over deliver.
In terms of using the units, I am finding the app a little tricky and I agree with a previous reviewer that the battery life is not ideal. I got these so that my children could communicate with their father without going through me when he is working away, and I am not sure that they will do the job (because of the battery life). However, they will be great to send my eldest to the shop by himself (there's a very busy road but he could do with some independence) and other times when they might need an ability to get hold of you.
I'm not aware of any similar products (and I've looked) so I'm persevering with them, and am very grateful to Karri for seeking to address my concerns and hope that they can iron out the minor issues with what has the potential to be a fantastic and unique product. .

Diehard Karri fans
Karri is an amazing example of a startup business that put huge effort into research and testing, has fantastic attention to detail, does communication so well, really focuses on customer feedback and offers excellent client service. The Karri products are really great and have helped us give our children a sense of independence and autonomy. They’re robust and work really well, while being easy to use. Overall we’ve had an incredibly positive customer experience and would recommend Karri to anyone.

I pre ordered the Karri back in the middle of last year and have now recieved it and here are my thoughts!
1) Yes, it was a long pre order, but we were kept updated and if I wanted a more specific idea of time I just popped them an email and they responded quickly and were helpful.
2) Unfortunately the device i ordered (the colour) was going to be delayed, so they offered me a different colour or to wait for the original colour, i chose to get a different colour delivered quickly.
3) Device arrived and looked great, unfortunately it would not connect. However, they were absolutely great. So easy to contact, incredibly helpful, talked me through it and ultimately sent out a new device incredibly quickly. The customer support has been 100%, cannot fault them.
4) New device arrived, and after a few hiccups getting it started. It is AMAZING!
It is everything I wanted it to be, it is simple and easy to use. My 7 year old picked it up and immediately started using it. She has two chats set up, me and her Nanna. Her Nanna is on holiday at the moment and she is loving being able to chat with her independently.
It gives her a bit of reassurance that she can always contact me when shes not with me and she thinks shes really cool and is telling everyone its amazing, she could even be miles away and still chat with mummy!
Things im looking forward to: having the option of more chats and wifi connection. But apart from that, i think it does what it sets out to do perfectly. It is a safe, screen free way for children to stay in contact. If you start putting too many more functions on it, you start moving into the realms of a phone, which this is not. It would be nice to be a little smaller, however, my petite 7 year old still loves it and put it on a lanyard.
Overall:
I would 100% recommend but remember, it is a new company, it is a new device. Expect a wait whilst in pre order stage, but also expect good communication and an incredible concept. Despite the few issues I expereinced I would still recommend them without hesitation.
For those who dont want their child to have a phone yet, but want a screen free, safe, way to be able to keep in contact it is perfect! Oh and it has a GPS locator too! With the development they should only keep getting better!

What a fantastic company and product. To be able to offer our kids freedom without the fear of digital safety is a huge win for us. And the company just keep getting better and yet, constantly taking on board customer feedback to evolve with needs and wants. They have the customer experience journey down to a ‘T’.
