★★★★☆ Excellent Medical Treatment by Dr…
★★★★☆ Disappointing Administrative Experience but Excellent Medical Treatment by Dr Haji, but
I recently underwent treatment with Dr Amyn Haji, having initially considered a more invasive surgical procedure. However, after learning about the potentially longer and more difficult recovery associated with surgery, I decided to proceed with the Rafaelo radiofrequency treatment instead.
The procedure was performed at King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone, a prestigious private hospital conveniently located near where I live.
My experience at the hospital was excellent. The facilities were outstanding, the staff were attentive, and Dr Haji was extremely professional throughout.
The radiofrequency procedure itself took approximately 10 minutes. I was given anaesthetic medication intravenously and could feel its effects, although I did not fall asleep or become completely unconscious. I remained aware throughout the procedure, but everything went smoothly.
I am still recovering, and so far I am very pleased with the treatment and the medical care received.
The total amount I paid in connection with my treatment was approximately £6,600, which represents a substantial investment in private healthcare. However, I have no complaints regarding the cost or Dr Haji’s medical expertise.
Unfortunately, the administrative handling of my case was disappointing.
I had previously explained to Natalie Foster, Dr Haji’s secretary, that I was due to receive a partial refund to my original payment card. However, I specifically requested that this amount be retained as credit towards a future appointment or treatment.
Despite my instructions, the refund was processed.
I subsequently proposed a simple and practical solution: issuing a new invoice for the equivalent amount, allowing me to pay again using my card and retain the credit towards my future care.
Unfortunately, despite my efforts to resolve the matter amicably, we were unable to reach a satisfactory arrangement.
Consequently, I felt I had no alternative but to cancel my scheduled six-week follow-up appointment, which was intended to assess my recovery and the results of the treatment.
This was particularly disappointing, considering the high standard of medical care, the reputation of the hospital and the significant amount paid.
I would like to make it absolutely clear that my four-star rating reflects the administrative experience, not the quality of the medical treatment.
Dr Haji was excellent, the hospital was outstanding, and I am recovering well, thank God.
I remain entirely open to finding a reasonable solution should the practice wish to revisit the matter. If that is not possible, I will respect the situation and leave matters as they stand.
Thank you very much, Dr Haji, for your professionalism and excellent care.
A final observation to Natalie Foster: I sincerely hope greater attention can be given to patients’ instructions, concerns and proposed solutions in future. Good administrative communication is just as important to the overall patient experience, particularly in private healthcare.
Overall: An excellent doctor, an excellent hospital and a very positive treatment experience, unfortunately let down by the administrative handling of my case.
