Nottingham branch is unprofessional, lied about my Apple warranty been expired when the phone was covered

24.10.2024 AVOID SCAMMERS!!! If I could I would put less than 1 star. It was extremely outrageous that when I came with my phone that had an issue with the motherboard(as I found out later from professionals) and was completely off. They forced me to pay 29£ to connect the phone to iTunes, to try to reset it. I’ve said that I’ve done it at home myself and it didn’t help, but they said they not going to take it for diagnostics with further actions. After 45 minutes of being with no phone and no chance to connect to anyone to seek advice they came out with the iTunes didn’t help, which I already knew because I’ve done it at home myself. And they said they checked my phone’s serial number and the warranty is expired which wasn’t true because I had warranty till 6 of December. They used the situation that I’m have no phone to go to Apple account to show that the warranty is still valid, stressed and crying and try to sell their repair service for 580 £ which I obviously refused to do because they had to do it for free. Because of panicking because I need my phone for work which I had next day, in this situation and thinking maybe they are right about warranty I didn’t call Apple customer support straight away and went to local repair shop and they said they can’t repair it spend another 20£ for diagnostics, after to another (another 15) and they didn’t, after I borrowed phone of my friend, and started to look for any option to fix it because I couldn’t afford a new phone, fully convinced by manager there that my Apple warranty been expired, because you trust people who claim they are managers in such a “highly trusted” company, I’ve post my phone to other repair shop in Birmingham(and it’s another expenses) and they couldn’t fix it and posted it back, after all my research and two weeks of stress and not able to live my life I eventually find a repair shop in London with the actual professionals and as soon as I got in touch with them explaining my issue they said they will try to fix it and I posted it there because it was no fix no pay so I had nothing to loose, so the next day they said they running diagnostic and less likely they would fix it but they will try and guess what and I gave up and bought a new phone (another 1400£ on the finance because like I’ve mentioned earlier I couldn’t afford it and already spent loads because of KRCS) and the day after they messaged me saying they fixed it and guess what? They asked me why I didn’t go though Apple care because my phone still on a warranty!!!!! But I ended up paying 200£ (plus posting expenses) too for service which I did because people done the job properly NOT LIKE KRCS!!
I’ve learned my very expensive lesson with KRCS. 0 customer service, imposed on me the 29£ service of connecting phone to iTunes (that you can do from home for FREE), lied about warranty to make you buy their 580 £ service, made me panic and not even calling Apple for help because of their lies. And I ended up buying new phone still, plus all the expenses before with diagnostics, posting, repair. IT IS DISGUSTING! And that’s the authorised and certified Apple service in Nottingham for you!
PS when I was trying to call their head office as I been advised from Apple customer care they keeping you on a line for 16 minutes and not even bothered to answer the calls.

Can't recommend this store enough!

This was my second visit to KRCS Derby store and seeing Luke. The first time I had an issue with my cellular on my iPhone 15 and Luke was amazing to get this sorted for me with it needing to go back to Apple, 2 days later I had my phone back. However, Wednesday (5.2.25) I was experiencing screen problems and issues when touching my screen. When I took it to Luke on the Friday, he knew exactly what the problem was and reassured me he would be able to sort it, if not there would be a backup plan. When going in today (8.2.25) within an hour my phone was ready to collect after having my screen adjusted thanks to Luke! The team were welcoming and friendly. Any issues with apple products, I highly recommend this store!

This is the sixth time I have used KRCS. Their service has always been first class. In the past they have fielded phone calls and queries with professionalism and courtesy. This item was ordered yesterday afternoon and arrived at 10:30 this morning. No hesitation on recommending them

Went in to buy an Apple Pencil

Went in to buy an Apple Pencil for my IPad Pro 12.9inch (6th gen). Fair should have done research first, but they told me the Apple Pencil pro was compatible - which was the most expensive £129 in store. Which I brought, and once I got home it did not connect. I told the man three times. Is it compatible. He said yes for the 13”. Had to correct him three times, that it was the 12.9. Still continued to tell me it was compatible guess it wasn’t. When I returned to the store he said that it must be a problem with my iPad, which upon my research it wasn’t and asked for a refund. He then told me that the 2nd gen Apple Pencil was compatible. 1 month later I’m finally buying it and it’s not compatible. The Apple Pencil gen usb is. £79.
May have just been this one employee, but I’ve been countless times and been disappointed countless times.

What has happened to KRCS?

We used to use KRCS exclusively for Apple kit, but recently there have been issues.

I needed some Airpods for my son, so I called into the Victoria Centre store and spoke to a young man. He advised me that the only safe place to buy Airpods was KRCS and that he had even seen fakes sold by John Lewis. I rather think John Lewis would take issue with that!

Despite the obvious BS, I bought the Airpods and gifted them to my son, who took them back to University with him.

From day one they weren't right, losing charge very quickly. So when he returned for Christmas, about a month later, I went with him to KRCS in Nottingham where by chance we spoke to the same member of staff who'd sold them to me. He said KRCS would like the chance to repair them. We agreed. He then said that we couldn't actually leave them for repair, we'd need to book them in.

It turned out that there were no appointments available to book. However, eventually one popped up shortly before my son was due to return to university. We booked it.

My son turned up at the appointed time, to be told that in fact KRCS would not repair them immediately, it would be the following week. KRCS had insisted on an appointment just to deliver the Airpods to their shop! The journey is sixteen miles round trip away from home, with attendant parking charges.

When completed, KRCS refused to post out the repaired Airpods to my son, who was by now back at university. So I called head office and they said they would send them for £20, if my son would like to send payment. Otherwise we must collect them from store. Because my son was back at uni, this would entail a sixteen-mile round trip for me, to collect them. I would then need to post them to my son at uni at my expense. KRCS then unhelpfully added that, even if we did have them posted, they wouldn't be sent out until the following week.

I asked to speak to the person who could agree to send out the Airpods promptly. He wasn't available and would not respond to emails, I was told.

On the basis that KRCS were apparently trying to make things as difficult as possible, and not adhering to their obligations in respect of paying carriage costs for warranty items, I have rejected the Airpods. Once again there has been no response from KRCS and no refund. I have received no answer to an emailed complaint.

I bought some replacement Airpods from Apple, which arrived with my son within twelve hours, and have I have passed the KRCS issue to our card provider for a charge-back.

KRCS used to be okay, albeit that there was always the slight sense that they were doing you a favour by selling things to you. But they seem to have been consumed by their own self-importance.

My advice is to buy elsewhere. Argos is unglamorous but always seems to do the right thing, Amazon is good and John Lewis are more customer focused when selling Apple products. They don't make life difficult when things go wrong. Just make sure the products are genuine. ;-)

Brilliant!

Excellent service, very good knowledge of the products and incredibly fast delivery. I wanted a mini iPad which other suppliers did not have in stock. On entering the store I was seen immediately and the order was placed and paid for. The delivery was the next morning and thanks to the advice given in setting it up I am now writing this review on my new mini iPad after less than 24 hours. Can’t fault it! Brilliant!

Just to attract customers mentioning false delivery dates

They should mention the expected delivery dates within which they can delivery the order, that's the worst part as I waited 1 and half month while the delivery was supposed to be received within 9 days. When I emailed them about this delay they didn't even took it serious and said they are not accountable for the delay.

Aftercare service absolutely appalling, going against consumer rights

Really disappointed with this company had problems with a brand new Mac I'd bought from them freezing up (details below) ended up having to take it to the Official Apple Store who of which told me I should make a formal complaint about this company because they are breaking my 30 day consumer rights to get a replacement unit without any extra costs to me.

I ordered a mac from them which was a spec'd up version and had to be made to order, it arrived fairly quickly which was good but setting it all up there seemed to be an issue with it constantly crashing and freezing up frequently whilst trying to work on it which I know isn't normal behaviour as I've owned many Macs over the years and my M1 worked smoothly. I only had it for 3 weeks and during that period was Christmas so I couldn't contact them about the issue until January.

Did a full clean install still no luck, same issue so gave them a call to tell them the mac kept freezing, only to be told by a what seemed like a disgruntled member of staff that my only option was to pay £20 to send it too them for repair or just go to the Apple Store, wasn't really that bothered or showed any concern and that was pretty much all they had to say.

I went into the Apple Store today and told them what this company had told me and they said that they are going against consumer rights and technically should offer a free replacement than a repair on the unit and it shouldn't cost me anything because I've had it less than 30 days. They also showed me the Mac wasn't ordered from Apple but some third party company that Apple won't deal with otherwise the Apple Store would have replaced the machine for me.

So I'm left with a 20 day old Mac that is going for repair cause these guys showed absolutely no concern or customer aftercare to bother doing anything to try and help me. It was pretty much the attitude of tough luck pal then the phone hangs up.

Apple have actually noted this complaint on their system now. So I definitely advise using an official Apple Store if you plan on buying anything and are going to need aftercare over this company. Especially after only a few weeks cause once these guys have your money they don't care what happens to your machine. I made a mistake trusting them as an official Apple Reseller which from what I've learned from Apple doesn't mean much.

Rude Scammers

Ordered a MacBook Pro and instead was sent an iPad with no documentation about where it was from. Contacted the company multiple times with plenty of evidence against them and was then accused of stealing the laptop and ordering an ipad to cover it up which more than anything sounds like an admission of what they did. A full year later and I'm still being charged for a laptop I do not have. Everyone I have talked to has been rude and arrogant and tried to pass the blame to either me or the delivery company and despite knowing my legal consumer rights they refuse to help. Seriously avoid. I'm currently £700 down with no laptop.

Brilliant company to buy from! I was really chuffed to find a last minute black Friday discount on a new MacMini M4... great price. Waited a little while for it as it was a configuration, but the people at KRCS were really responsive and kept me updated on the delivery. It's arrived and I'm so pleased. The Derby branch staff listened well

The Derby branch staff listened. I have had contact with the Derby store on several occasions recently and all I can say is that they listened and saw their customer. I wanted my MacBook repaired; they did that in a timely and polite manner and a reasonable price. I needed a new phone and again they listened to what I needed and matched me to not the top of the range but to the phone that best matched my needs.

Had an issue with the delivery of my order. Tried to call but no one answered the phone. Managed to get an email response from Sam the online store supervisor who refused to call me to discuss the issue. As a result the issue still hasn’t been resolved.
