Do not do as promised.
Gave the lowest quote for damp proofing and plastering, but when damp proofing finished, claimed I never asked for plastering and that would be extra. Told me to check the quote and sure enough, he was smart enough to only state damp proofing. Other companies had quoted me for both when walking round the property. When he quoted £9500 and others had quoted £10k for both, I wrongly assumed it would be for both. After all, who gets a wall ripped out and not filled back in? Clearly hedging his bets I would fork out even more when under tight time schedule for my 85 year old uncle. Disgusting. When I got someone else in to do plastering they said that half of the damp proofing didn't even need doing. As did the decorating company. They promised to take away all the carpets and rubble and didn't. The "guarantee" was a badly worded, mis spelled and unprofessionally typed piece of A4 paper, probably not worth anything. No details of materials used, no letterhead. All written communication just as bad. Could hardly understand most of it. Broke several things in the house and blamed the electrician. Even though next doors CCTV showed differently. Avoid at all costs.
