My lawn care person is reliable and does a great job communicatimg & taking care of the lawn.

Phillip always does such a great job. He is very communicative with any changes or issues he has.

Update: TrustPilot did what I couldn't do and obtained an acceptable refund for my parents. Thank you, Megan, from TrustPilot, for your help.

The customer service is awful. My elderly parents were charged for lawn service and bush trimming together. The lawn was done, but the bushes were not done. My father filed a dispute over the service. They didn't ask for a specification, which should have been for the bush trimming (it wasn't conducive on the app). They credited them for the lower lawn service amount, but not the bush trimming. This happened twice, and then my dad cancelled the bush trimming service. When I called to question what was going on I was told it was outside of the 5 day window and they could not help credit the account properly.
Please note: The lawn service contractors performed well for lawn mowing; however, the bush trimming was inconsistent at best.
I would not recommend this service app. Go directly to the contractors.

1 Star – Avoid This Company at All Costs

If you’re considering using LawnStarter — don’t. This has been one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve ever had. I paid in advance for lawn service at my rental property, and the job was never completed. I only found out because my property manager noticed the lawn was untouched — not because LawnStarter took any accountability.

Their “support” is nothing more than a low-budget chatbot reciting scripted replies with zero critical thinking or urgency. When I reached out, not only did they fail to offer any real solution, but they also acted as if it was perfectly acceptable that no one showed up for a job I paid for days ago.

I had to chase them down repeatedly just to get the service rescheduled — two days late — while I was trying to prep the home for listing. And even then, they refused to offer a refund upfront for the delay, saying they’d consider it only if the Pro failed again. As if missing the first appointment wasn’t already a problem?

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company. They lack professionalism, customer care, and basic accountability. You’re better off hiring a local company directly that actually values your time and money.

I have left Erica 2 phone messages, and she hasn't returned my call. When we spoke, we decided to wait on the supplemental insurance, but I've been charged for it. For someone that was so nice and helpful im just shocked at the lack of response.

I felt Gabriel took care of my lawn as if he lived here himself. I am very impressed. I liked how LawnStarters gave me the chance to communicate ahead of time by text on any special instructions or requests. I have bahia grass and requested my grass be mowed low. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of Gabriel's work.

The LawnStarter business model is not for me. I expect a quote from a pro who looks at my lawn; not an old photo from Google Earth.
The bait-&-switch from Thumbtack.com to LawnStarter is bad; all my required work was ignored.
I should not be robocalled to connect me to a salesman. My phone service screens out robocalls, so those attempts failed. Bad tech.

My service was excellent and the worker left my yard looking fantastic. Made me feel like a valued customer.

He do a wonderful job. I would love for him to do it every time. Love his work and the way he leave things neat and clean.

LawnStarter has sent excellent people to work on our yard, and they do it for a reasonable price. I’ve been working with them for about a year now and highly recommend their services.

Francisco was quick and thorough, despite the grass getting longer than I should have let it get.

They did the lawn and then took my unrelated trash and boxes to the curb for me. That’s going above and beyond. Always on time and reliable
