First of all, I really appreciate all the great content that Lingoni provides for free, which has helped me to improve my German drastically. I've used the platform for more than four months, doing exercises that expanded my knowledge of grammar. Thanks a lot to the Lingoni Team for your relentless work!

This app gives you a very comprehensive knowledge of the German language. Unlike other courses, I find that I tend to remember what I have learnt, it sinks in. Having great teachers like Jenny, also gives you the inspiration to keep going. So all round, an excellent app.

Was a member for one year. Enjoyed videos very much and they dealt with queries quite well. Yet despite this, the site felt old and quite clunky and there is no app available. Fortunately, about 4 weeks before my subscription ended, they updated the site and it seemed much improved although still not what I would call leading edge in appearance and use. Unfortunately, all my progress was lost and when restored a few days later after I contacted them, it was completely wrong. They had also, for some quite unbelievable reason, stopped giving the answers to the exercises for each video, it would only tell you right or wrong so you were not sure what mistake you had made. They told me they were fixing this in the next update but when this would be, nobody seemed to know. They said the answers could be found on the site but this was quite laborious. It all felt very amateurish to me, which was a shame as the videos were great. They extended my subscription by a couple of weeks as there were security log in problems as well. This was generous but I still felt that I had lost 3 or 4 weeks of use. I considered renewing but in the end threw in the towel and went elsewhere. Frantastique by Gymlish is a far superior site although a lot more expensive.

If you have lots of time on your hand, I could recommend their website. If you are are a stay-in father or a housewife with extra time at home everyday, you could cover everything up in a year.
However, if you are in more of a hurry to learn German, for a course, visa application or paper work, I would say lingoni is NOT your best bet. The lecture videos are too long and sometimes they do not cover the grammatical sections comprehensively you will still need to rely on the internet as a source. You will need to spend a lot of time behind the screen in order to catch up, which is not possible if you have other duties or work.
Unfortunately their website has been down for about a month. The first week they said they will fix some issues with a new update and they will be back. They were back briefly and the website is completely gone now. They have also stopped responding to emails the past three week. I still had over two months of subscription left which I don't even know if I will ever get to use or be reimbursed.

I like the business model of this company and I am very happy to provide a small support with my purchase: many free Youtube videos and a "premium" paid membership, with exercises, podcasts, a structured learning path and a useful pronunciation tool.
The teachers are all very good and the lessons are pleasant and instructive.
So far I tried only the German course, but probably in the future I will try also the other courses.

i am using Lingoni from about one year ago , and i am really happy for what i have achived and what i have learned without paying alot of money in privite courses , i am highly recommend for who want to learn new languages , just go sign up , subscribe and learn

I'm frustrated because most of the time, and I try frequently, I cannot login. and then I get an error message.

The lingoni languge course itself is excellent with its content designed in a highly professional manner, but the website has very frequent login/hosting issues (supposedly due to cyber attacks crashing the site), which does not allow learners to study whenever they have time, thus slowing down their learning process.
Hope the technical issues will be resolved soon.

I bought the subscription but it was not working correctly. Had to email them one week later to be able to have access.

The page is having glitches, some audios dont work and the page in general sometime does not download (have tried with different devices and had the same result).

Nevertheless, putting those things aside and when the page is working correctly it is a great platform for learning German.

I have been having fun learning German with Lingoni. The explanation is simple, concise and practical. It has lots of worksheets, vocabulary training and podcasts with exercises. I am 50 years old and planning on studying and living in Germany with my kids. Hope u will love Lingoni as I do.

I started the French course a few days ago and I found it very well done. Yet, when you take the exercises, wrong questions are marked, but there is no hint about the right answer. Additionally and worst of all, the site has been down for the past 3 days without any mention of its destiny. I hope that they are not closing down. No answer to emails either, but enrollment is still open.I just reviewed this feedback, because the site is back again. Pity they seem never to reply to emails...

The content is great but...

a few days (or more) ago they moved to a new platform and since then their website and the platform are down A LOT and you cannot connect to the learning portal to work on lessons. There is no way to contact them. They are located in Europe and apparently they don't have anyone monitoring and/or fixing problems 24/7, so if problems happen overnight their time, there is no access to the platform U.S. time.

If you're considering a new subscription, I'd hold off for a month or two until they work out the issues with the new platform.

As someone noted, some of the lesson videos are available on YouTube. But those same videos are ad-free on the Lingoni platform, and I'm happy to pay a premium for that. Also, each lesson comes with exercises that you can do online or download that recap and reinforce the material in the video. There are also podcasts and vocabulary training, and these also include online exercises that you can download if you'd like.

Edit: Sept 17, 2023. Thanks for your reply. The site performance continues to be bad. I'm not able to use the platform probably 8 times out 10 I try. I sometimes get a Cloudflare message saying: Connection Timed Out. Error Code 522. app.lingoni.com Host Error. Other times my browser is just buffering. Or I'll actually be on the site and all the sudden it stops working.

There's been absolutely no communication with customers as to what's going on, the cause of the problems, or a target fix date.

You've suggested that if people need to contact the company they should use the online form. But how can you use the online form if you can't login to the website?

Emails I've sent recently to info [at sign] lingoni [dot] com have been returned with the following message:
Remote server returned '550 5.0.350 Remote server returned an error -> 503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.'

Further, I show that my subscription has been set to auto-renew at the yearly subscription rate. Something I don't want and never agreed to. Customers can't change this on their dashboard either, and they are instructed to email you at info [at sign] lingoni [dot] com for questions. But as I mentioned above, all the emails to that address are being returned. I will have to send a letter to Germany to have my subscription canceled at the end of the current plan. I'm keeping copies of everything and will dispute any additional charges Lingoni attempts to make. Sorry, but changing my rating from 3 to 2 stars.

This is my second review. My last review was back in May 2023.

It has been about five months since I have been using Lingoni. Like I said in my last review, the lessons and videos are so rich in information.

Although I am only on the A1 Level and almost finished, I can now read short stories. I can mostly follow along when someone is speaking German depending on the subject. My understanding of German today compared to five months ago is like night and day.

The new pronunciation tool that allows you to record your voice is a step up. Being able to record your voice and then compare it to the audio recorded by the German speaker is much better than some algorithm telling you that you said it wrong.

Gut gemacht!

The video are very well done, short but rich and effective! The worksheets and online tests can improve due to little bugs in the error checks. Very well done overall happy for having subscribed to the French course

I have been watching this site for a long time. Jenny is good at explaining German. This time I paid for the service and I can veiw more videos.

likes: the contents and teachers are great.
DISLIKES: why the most valuable part of the lessons(the grammar part) is FREE on the YouTube while I have to pay for this FREE lessons!! Highly disappointed!!

Lingoni has a great team of teachers and the website is well construct.

It is really good for a person who already knows basic of French.
