The course at this school was incredibly expensive. They market themselves as an elite institution, but the teaching quality is shockingly low. For me, this trip was a major financial commitment that I worked for months to afford. Instead of feeling like a valuable investment in my future, I left with deep regret over how much money was wasted.
The school’s curriculum completely ignores modern research on how the human brain actually learns. On an intensive course (with both morning and afternoon sessions), we spent the entire week hammering just two grammar points, repeating the exact same monotonous exercises over and over. Worse still, despite being placed in an Advanced C1 level group (the second-best group in the school), a huge portion of class time was wasted on primitive games and basic vocabulary. I honestly feel I learn more during a single 1.5-hour lesson back in my home country than I did here during a whole week of "intensive" study.
The academic oversight and quality control were equally disappointing. When advanced nuances of punctuation came up, they were either brushed aside or met with blatant errors. For instance, when I asked about a complex sentence that contained both an Oxford comma and a standard comma before 'and' separating an independent clause, the teacher didn’t even understand what I was asking—or perhaps deliberately chose not to understand to avoid explaining its correctness. Similarly, I was told that a perfectly valid advanced structure using participle clauses, like "Walking down the street, not having much time, I saw a jacket," was grammatically incorrect. For a premium price, you expect flawless academic standards, not a situation where classroom guidance feels completely unreliable. In fact, instead of burning cash on this course, you would be far better off spending a tiny fraction of that money on a premium AI assistant. A paid AI chatbot explains advanced language nuances much better, designs tailored study plans, and is a significantly wiser investment because it is cheaper and actually helps you learn much faster.
The teaching standards on one particular day were completely unacceptable. We took a test, only to be told to self-grade it using an answer key. When several students struggled to understand the listening section—even after looking at the transcript—the teacher flatly refused to explain the reasoning. He rudely stated that he 'would not argue' and that if we didn't agree, he wasn’t going to waste time trying to convince us. I actually had to rely on a fellow classmate to explain my mistakes, which is absurd considering we paid for professional tuition. Later, for a writing task, our work was hung around the room for peer review. Whenever anyone had a doubt, the teacher treated it superficially, shutting us down with a rigid 'because that's just how it is' attitude. It created a hostile, lazy, and completely unproductive learning environment.

The classroom atmosphere was highly discouraging due to the teacher's patronizing attitude. He repeatedly targeted my remarks and questions, labeling them as 'convoluted' in a clear attempt to diminish my standing in front of my peers. Rather than facilitating a mature C1-level debate, he chose to deflect and put me down, creating an environment where asking analytical questions was treated as a flaw rather than a strength. This defensive and dismissive behavior is completely unprofessional for an educator at this level.
To top it all off, the school has an absurd policy where textbooks must remain in the classroom. We were expected to copy exercises into our notebooks, but there was never enough time during class to do so. Consequently, you are left with absolutely no materials to review what was covered in the evening.
The only saving grace of the entire experience was the food. The lunches provided by the school are absolutely superb, all thanks to the two fantastic chefs who do an amazing job every day.
However, you don't pay elite tuition fees just for great catering. Unless you have money to burn and don't care about making real linguistic progress, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Easily my worst financial investment in years.

The professor was highly precise and dedicated to supporting our progress. The group was very engaged and brought together participants from a wide range of countries.

An amazing experience! We learnt a lot and we enjoyed a lot as well.Teachers were excellent and every member of the staff made us feel at home.We had a great time. Last but not least we ate very well. The food was delicious.

A very well-organised school that places students from all over the world into small groups and the right learning levels. Flexible and experienced teachers, well-equipped classrooms, and a beautiful setting in Holland Park.

Everything was well organized, the school building was very beautiful and functional. Mandy did good job taking care of us and helping in many ways!
Cafeteria-area was little too loud, when all the people was at lunch in the same time.
Teachers were very dedicated and ambitious. Our programme was very versatile and I learned a lot! And they listened our wishes and made some rearrangements for us, wich was really thoughtfull.

Everything was very well organised and I was well informed all the time. What was not really clear, were the results of the preliminary tests and the division to different levels. I was not too happy with my level the first week since it felt a bit too low for me but the second week offerered more challenge and overall I was happy with my general English groups.

Excellent, well-thought tuition and devoted teachers who let their personality show and be part of the courses in a very fruitful manner.

I had an excellent experience.My Teachers were Clarie,Emma and Alex and they were very supportive, knowledgeable, and kind. I truly enjoyed my time here and I'm grateful for this experience.The atmosphere was amazing, the lessons were very enjoyable, and I made some great friends.It was an unforgettable experience for me:):)
