Purple hair dye turned my hair moldy green. This is insane and frankly thwy should be sued. Disgusting trash company
I absolutely love the color, I ordered and used the Orchid Purple and it was EXACTLY the color I wanted. My only complaint is that it faded out within a couple weeks so kinda quickly, but even then it faded out into a beautiful blue and silver.
I got Juniper & cerulean sea, both colors are advertised as super dark green and turquoise that can even cover medium/ darker hair. Their videos show extremely pigmented dyes but in reality they are a light bright green and turquoise, they don't even show up well on light bleached hair. SOOOO disappointing for that price, I would love my money back!
I loved using the Lunar Tides hair dye, but I probably would choose a different brand next time. For 13 dollars, the containers are small if you're on a budget. For thick hair, you need at least a couple. I have armpit-length thin hair, and I needed at least 4 (3 wasn't enough). The dye doesn't stain skin unless it is directly applied. I LOVE how it didn't damage my hair, so that's a plus. The dye sticks on well, but your hair has to be very light, depending on what color is advertised. As for fading, it's better than other brands I've used previously. The formula is more liquid / cream-like like so it spreads more easily. I would definitely recommend.
I continously have issues with Lunar Tides I had pink hair dye from them earlier this year and it was dried out despite the site claiming it wasn't supposed to expire that soon, my most recent encounters involve black hair dye coming out after one wash, and blue hair dye not sticking to certain parts of my hair despite not having any issues with the specific hair dye prior.
Also to add onto this their blue hair dye turned my hair GREEN not blue but a very very ugly bluish GREEN even though I chose a supposedly vibrant blue color, also once again did not take in certain parts of my hair despite doing so previously.
This is not a brand I recommend and won't be buying from in the future either.
Over priced for a tiny jar. The color is horrific. Got Aroura green and literally looks like algae on my head. After three attempts that is! Won’t even give this brand a second chance.
Juniper green is a great colour, however the UK recipe is completely different and just does not last as long + fades blue.
I use the silver and my hair turn to a blue color i don't recomend this color idk for other colors
I've been using Lunar Tides for over a year now and they are my favorite color of all the semi permanent direct dyes that I have tried. They last long, they are super pigmented, vibrant, amazing!
I usually buy them on a German site called colours but since my color was sold out I bought it on beauty bay (a uk site for those who don't know). Well... my color "cerulean sea" looks nothing like what I was used to. It's blue not petrol. The list of ingredients is completely different. It's NOT the same product. It made my hair turquoise.... I am really not happy with the result. My friend also experienced something similar with her orange color that came out completely different when ordered from beauty bay. I don't know Lunar Tides changed their formulas overall or they have different products for different countries but the inconsistency makes me want to look for alternatives.
Expensive and nothing like the swatches. Not pigmented like it claims. Pretty poor cheap dye for a premium price
I used Orchid Purple from the brights collection. I dyed bleached hair and left the dye on for the recommended time, however it just looked like I have used purple shampoo and toner. I am so disappointed, I'm having to find another dye to cover it up.
Not accurate representation of colour on the guide either; very blue toned and definitely not a bright purple dye.
Not happy. Spent about £35 on three post of dyes, commented was excited to use them, they're perfectly nice at this point.
Platinum bleached hair, the pastel dyes did jack, a faint sheen of the blue and nothing from the Beetle colour. Seriously disappointed as this is the most expensive dye I've ever bought.
Since they saw my negative story have deleted my comments that weren't positive.
What a way to run a business! I won't be back, and I will be posting a reel about it on Instagram as I'm quite shocked I've been deleted and ignored!
I've made a few orders and overall LOVE Lunar Tides dye....except the neon green and yellow. I was disappointed with the color payout.
All of my orders have been shipped quickly and arrived well-packed. LOVE the color range!!
This is the best hair dye I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot of them, lol. I switched from Arctic Fox after getting a recommendation from a friend.
First, not putting the hair dye in a squeeze bottle where it's impossible to get all of the dye out is a MAJOR improvement over the brand I used before (what were they thinking?!).
Secondly, until Lunar Tides, I had to mix green and black dyes to get the color I wanted. The "Juniper green" color is exactly the color I wanted - no more mixing!
Additionally, the hair dye smells great, instructions are straightforward, and bottle design & website are aesthetically pleasing.
But the best part? THIS IS THE LONGEST-LASTING SEMI-PERMANENT DYE I HAVE EVER USED. I first touched up my green with Lunar Tides almost a year ago (12/26/2020), and today (12/11/2021), it is only as faded as Arctic Fox would normally get in a matter of 3-4 months. I am absolutely amazed.
I have my next bottles ready, I will probably redye at the 1-year mark in a couple of weeks, but I am just enjoying seeing how this dye fades - which is very, very slowly.
Oh yeah, and (at least as far as I know), the founder isn't a racist or animal abuser like Arctic Fox's.
Literally the only possible "complaint" I have is that there aren't different sizes of containers. It takes about 1.5 jars for me to get all of my hair - if there were a larger bottle option that would be more cost-effective and less wasteful.
I recommend Lunar Tides whenever it comes up. Thank you!!
