Lupine Travel Reviews 

We joined the May 2023 trip to Syria and were very satisfied we did it with Lupine Travel. They arranged visas with no problems and immediately allayed our fears about safety through their excellent local guide, Mohammed, and tour leader Bob Clerx. The itinerary was very well structured and covered all the main historical sites in Syria. The hotels were comfortable and thoughtfully selected and the food was overall better than we expected. We would strongly recommend this tour to other adventurously-minded travelers. Given our positive experience in Syria, we are also planning to use Lupine for other Middle Eastern tours such as Iran & Iraq.

I did the North Pakistan trip with Lupine and absolutely loved it! They were super responsive to all my questions before the trip and ensured that everything went smooth with the visa. The local guide was amazing and the itinerary full of interesting and beautiful things. Couldn't recommend this trip more!

Ideally, I prefer to travel alone and independently but, for reasons of practicality or security in particular countries, it's sometimes better to entrust others to make all the arrangements and do the planning. This is where Lupine Travel comes into its own and allows you to explore countries that you might otherwise never see.

This was my second trip with Lupine and I've already signed up for the third. Everything is organised for you.- hotels, transport, guides, security etc so you only have to turn up. I don't have any complaints about either trip. They're exhausting but fun and laid back.
Because Lupine is a small, specialist travel company it feels like you have a much more intimate relationship with them than you could have with a larger organisation. Judging by all the repeat customers on my latest trip, Lupine tours seem to become a bit of an addiction which is probably the best compliment they could wish for.

Again, another very well organized and operated tour by Lupine Travel. The itinerary, local guiding and tour content were excellent. Accommodation and food were very well also. Any special requirements and wishes were considered and incorporated into the program. The guides were - within reason - flexible and accommodating, which, especially under the difficult circumstances was sometimes not easy.

The trip to Eritrea was extremely well organised. Tour leader Nick was more than great. Local tour guide and driver were nice people. I would like to thank all Lupine team for the success of this unique trip!

Just back from a great tour to Algeria. It was really well-arranged and included a wide variety of activities. I had a wonderful experience.

Unforgettable experience! I always wanted to visit Mali and Lupine made it true. The tour covered all the major cites in an efficient itinerary. However, only a few weeks before the trip, we were informed that we could not visit Djenne for security reason. I was disappointed but at the same time reassured that the company closely monitors their destinations and cares about our security, which is very important when travelling to these destinations. I was very impressed with our tour leader Nick. He was incredible in making sure all of us were comfortable, the tour flowed well, clarifying whatever concerns we had and solving unexpected problems calmly. The local guide was very lively, interesting and knowledgeable person that was very easy to talk to. Also, the group was full of interesting and like-minded people that I made friends with. Overall, you are in good hands with Lupine, I highly recommend their tours. I have already booked 2 more for this year, and thinking about more...

Mauritania Feb 2023. It was a journey, not a destination and it was wonderfully down to earth and simple. Or so it seemed. Like a well oiled machine, you don't realise how well organised and planned everything is, because it is seamless and effortless. Having Sean as tour leader, somebody who is as at ease with locals and local culture as he is with mixed bag of random, I westerners, that's not a given in the travel world so when you get a gem like that, you know you can count yourselves lucky. Together with the local team headed by Mohamed, we have made truly wonderful memories, learned a lot and maybe had a chance to relearn to admire human kind and its resilience. And who knew about bread!
So if you get to travel with somebody like Sean, you know you can go anywhere in the world and you will see its real sides. That's the guide you want to show you the world.

Amazing tour to Sudan that offers unforgettable experiences - especially the Meroe pyramids and the Sufi dance in Khartoum. We were well taken care of by the local guide and tour leader and felt safe at all times. Sudan doesn't get many tourists so the quality of accommodation can be patchy but it's part of the experience. Recommended.

Excellent trip, well organised with many things packed in to enjoy! Sean and Mohamed both did a great job, leading a diverse group, always flexible when needing to adapt, would be happy to travel with them again in the future!

This is now my 5th trip with LUPINE TRAVEL, all of them very different and highly enjoyable and all of them typical of what I like with Lupine : unusual and unforgettable destinations, safe routes, excellent guides, very good value for the money, and maybe most important : a great community of travelers with similar interests and same profiles as me.

It was a beautiful and enjoyable trip with a local team, the leader of the trip is excellent and he is Nick and very kind, highly recommended to you.

Our very special trip to Mali including Timbuktu (by private plane) was perfectly organized, we felt secure at any time, there were detailed explanations of the local guides, we had delicious meals and the itinerary was nearly completely fulfilled (only Djenne had to be cancelled because of security reasons), the price was fair.

Excellent Tour. I thought it would be good, but it was even better than I expected

I have just completed my 3rd trip with Lupine and this one was the best so far! They have all been great - obviously - otherwise I wouldn't be going back each time. This trip was for Mauritania and the Iron Ore Train. It was well organised, the local guide was great as was the Lupine guide. There were a couple of hiccups on hotel rooms, but all sorted smoothly and had no negative impact on anyone. 100% recommend this company - I have three further trips booked with them already.

The tour to Central America was always going to be subject to circumstance, especially El Salvador, in that it was very much based on criminal justice and the police response to organised crime. This always fluid situation became further complicated by a police action in the town of Soyapangu, which stymied our plans. But we tried! Robert, our tour leader, managed the group very well, with the enthusiasm and fervour of the adventurer he clearly is, but not a reckless one! And then the volcano eruption in Guatemala which caused travel disruption on our big day of travel to Flores / Belize. Nicola came into her element as we had to arrange transport by road, another turn of events that was fun, but without management and decision making, could have become problematic. It’s easier for one person to move than it is for 6 who all have different plans, and who all expect to be accommodated in the thinking of the tour leader. It went really well. Well done to Robert snd Nicola, and thanks
