Vehicle prou bo amb servei inapropiat: mal rotulat amb lletres impròpies i il.legibles, mal documentat (retenció de frontera de 6 hores), bruta per dins, sense informació permanent ni assistència en carretera ràpida (vidre trencat per violació del vehicle), no es van presentar a recuperar el vehicle fent-me perdre la remuneració d'1 dia de feina conseqüencia de la retenció de frontera.

Rosa på madcampers är en fantastisk uthyrare som vi hyrt av tre gånger nu. Förhoppningsvis blir det en fjärde snart! Bra priser, pålitliga bilar och superbra service. Går väldigt smidigt att ta sig till Reus från Barcelona med tåget. Rekommenderar starkt!

The campervan itself was very well equipped and included everything we expected—and even more. I loved travelling with the Mad Adventurer. It was always easy to get a spot, and because it only needs a non-powered site, I usually ended up in quiet places surrounded by nature. The car drove extremely well and had plenty of power, even on tricky mountain roads. It’s small and flexible like a regular car, yet it offers all the advantages of a camper: you simply flip open the tent and have a compact kitchen with you, including gas and water.

Especially when travelling a lot and changing location almost every night, it was the perfect choice. I loved it! And perhaps important to mention: even as a solo traveller, it was absolutely easy to handle and I always felt safe on the amazing campgrounds in New Zealand.

I had a great 3 week journey with one of Mad Campers van. The van was relatively old, but sturdy, organised and well equipped.
The journey and overall features of the van were ideal and great.
Personally, Mad Campers is well organised and will help you with all the questions and doubts you have.
I had no accidents or issues so my travels were stress free

Nos lo pasamos genial con la camper. La camper que utilizamos era muy compacta y a la vez muy práctica, que es justo lo que buscabamos. Además, Rosa fue muy amable en todo momento con cualquier duda que tuvimos. Totalmente recomendable.

La furgo estuvo perfecta para recorrer los lugares de escalada, mecanicamente excelente, y su distribucion interior y equipamento muy completo. La recepcion y entrega tambien excelente. Totalmente recomendable para recorrer los lugares de escalada!

Pasamos una semana genial con Jara, una VW campervan antiquita pero funcional y con muchísimo encanto. Recorrimos desde puertos de montaña en el Pirineo como la Costa Brava sin problemas: cómoda, bien equipada y muy práctica. Mad Campers de 10, súper majos, flexibles y buena comunicación. Gracias por hacerlo tan fácil y especial! 💛

We rented the campervan named Carlotta for two weeks. The communication with Rosa was perfect from beginning till the end. Picking up the van went very smoothly as she also suggested to pick us up from the airport. The van is well maintained, equiped and nicely decorated. There was a small malfunctions as the dashboard is not working, but with some extra installed devices to solve this, you won't even notice. We thought it is also a part of the charm of an older VW van. Which is why we chose to book it. The van itself has enough space to store your clothing and other needed stuff. Cooking is easy, and the bed is comfortable. We had two delighted weeks with Carlotta. She did not dissapoint us once. If we will decide to explore Spain some more, we would definately use Mad Campers again.

We rented a camper from Mad Campers for our honeymoon trip to New Zealand, hoping for an amazing experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned.

First, the vehicle is not a real camper, but a Chinese delivery van that’s been converted into one. Because of that, it has some serious design flaws – it’s heavily weighted on the left side, and even when keeping the steering wheel straight, it would veer left. Not exactly fun or safe when driving long distances. On top of that, you can hear everything "working" inside. It’s also a diesel vehicle, so expect to pay an extra $90 per 1000km for road user charges – something we didn’t realize until after booking.

Secondly, the insurance options are extremely expensive if you want full coverage. Other companies we checked later offer better deals or include insurance in the price.

However, what truly ruined the experience was how they handled a minor accident we had. A stone hit our windscreen and left a small chip. We immediately contacted Mad Campers, and they told us to keep driving. The crack grew. We called again, asking if we should replace it or do something, but they told us it would be handled at the end of the rental. And it was – they handled it by charging us $1,900 for a windscreen replacement. That has to be one of the most expensive windshields ever! We checked, and replacements are typically around $800. It felt like a rip-off and a very strange way of dealing with their customers.

This unexpected charge really left a bad taste at the end of our honeymoon. We wouldn’t rent from them again.

On the positive note: employees in both offices (Auckland and Christchurch) were really nice so we leave 2 out of 5.
