UPS was several days late without explanation. When I asked MofA for help, I received none from “Bob,” who disclaimed any responsibility, even though MofA chose UPS. I have purchased maps from MofA previously; this was my first bad experience.

Hello Mr. Henderson, I'm very sorry to hear that you are so unhappy with your ordering experience with us. When you place an order on our website, the default shipping option is the least expensive- in this case it was UPS ground- but you have the ability to select another option if you wish. We packaged and shipped the order within the expected time frame. I'm very sorry that UPS delivered it late. We did call UPS on your behalf but we were told by the representative that there is nothing we could do, that the package was on the way and it would be delivered soon. We have no control over UPS or any other shipping company, and there is nothing we can do to influence the speed of the delivery once the package is in their care. Unfortunately, unexpected delays happen in shipping. I'm sorry your package was delayed in shipping and that you were unhappy with our response. If you have a tight deadline for shipping in the future, please feel free to reach out to us and let us know so we can try to get the package to the shipping company right away. Caveat Emptor
I thought I was purchasing a map of the city of Boston dating from 1838. What arrived was a small guidebook in poor condition containing two very small and faded maps of Boston. I returned the purchase, paying for the original shipping, the return shipping and a "restocking fee". This was not my best purchase after acquiring over twenty maps from this shop over a period of almost 20 years.

We wish that you had asked for an exception or communicated your displeasure in some way, rather than leaving us a poor review. We are a very small business, run by two people, and returns are expensive, which is why we have the return policy that we have. We paid $20 to ship two items to you and only charged $10, and the cost of the credit card fees for both the original purchase and refund are covered by the restocking fee. Regarding your surprise at receiving a book instead of a map, perhaps you did not see the description of the item, which is below the images, and that could account for the confusion? The description states in several places that it is an antique book with maps and also states that it is in poor condition and could be restored. We are sorry you are so displeased with this purchase. We hope we will be able to help with any future antique map needs you may have. And please always feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the items on the website. Thank you for your business.
