Our reproduction prints are made using a high-quality giclee printer on good quality matte paper. Is it possible that you thought it was an antique map? We do our best to make it clear if a map is a reproduction in the title and description of the listing. It looks like we only have one authentic antique map of Charleston at this time (SOU025 for $225). Please contact us directly if you would like to return the reproduction that you purchased. Wonderful collection!
Maps of Antiquity has a wonderful assortment of nautical charts and maps. This shop has every type of antique map/ chart we could ever hope for. Our home has a nautical theme, and we purchased a beautiful late 19th-century property map of Newport, RI. We are delighted with our purchase and look forward to it being framed. The owner, Bob, was extremely helpful on finding appropriate pieces based on our request.

Thank you for your order! I'm sorry you felt the package was difficult to open. We package our maps carefully between multiple layers of carboard, and the map itself is packaged in a bag with a board. The packages are easy to open with a small, sharp blade, like an exacto or razor blade, and it is unlikely that the map will be damaged. I have not heard of anyone having trouble opening the package, and I would not recommend using a steak knife to open our packages. I hope you are happy with the map and I hope it was not damaged when opening the package. Thank you again!
