We rented 5 kilt sets I. summer 2023. These are supposed to be checked prior to issue to customer. I work away so I picked mine up last minute.

In the day of the wedding the groom was getting ready and the shoe laces snapped.

I who was the best man had to give him my shoes luckily the same size and I had to try and tie the laces together and bodge them up at least for the photos.

When we returned them and highlighted this the blame was put on us, the customer that we hadn’t checked the stuff.

I accept they weren’t checked but to put the blame on the customer is wrong and clearly a lack of quality control in McCalls.

In return we were offered a 20% discount on next rental! CLEARLY WE WILL NEVER RENT FROM THERE AGAIN!

The attitude of the lady at the desk in Broughty Ferry shop was shocking!

Terrible service.

I hired my kilt from McCalls for my son's wedding, and everything went exactly as described. The kilt was there on time, all parts were in place, and they were flexible on pick and drop-off times. Would recommend

We came from Australia to be married in Elgin and my fiancé hired his suit jacket and accessories from McCalls in Elgin. The staff were super helpful getting the correct size and even when we arrived to pick it up on the morning of the wedding the checked it fit and got him a better size. We were leaving early the next morning so they organised to collect the hire from our hotel for us. Great service all round and good looking gear too. :)

Good service and pleasant, all comes at a price making weddings involving a kilt a costly affair.

I ordered 3 large and I had 2 large and XL.
So I couldn't use that one.

Bought a made to measure kilt from McCalls. The price was very competitive. They had the tartan that I wanted as well as a full range of accessories. Raymond the fitter was a lovely , friendly chap and guided me through the whole process. The kilt was delivered within the timescale given. I hired a jacket and waistcoat to complete the out fit and McCalls were happy to mix and match sizes to suit what I needed. All in all a very pleasant , stress free experience from start to finish. Recommended

The kilt itself is really great and comfortable. The package was sent very fast and delivered with no problem. The drawback would be that flashes and hose are of lesser quality than what I get from other tailors.

I buy all my highland clothes from McCalls in Aberdeen. I always find them very helpful. They recently reopened the shop as I arrived at closing time to buy new items for a wedding the next day. Excellent service.

Such a wonderful company to buy from. They were understanding and offered sound advice, particularly over fitting.

I would certainly buy another kilt from them, and can highly recommend them.

The sizes are small and this is not stated on the website, but the guys in Aberdeen were wonderful and got me sorted as soon as I told them the problem.

built a custom kilt for husband birthday so it be unique never received it ordered it February it's now nearly August still not arrived. very disappointed
