Avoid! Booked in for a puncture repair and was was only 10mins away from garage and had to pull over vehicle on motorway as tyre was flat. Changed over the spare tyre on hard shoulder of motorway and revisited garage following morning. Advised garage of issue and told them I needed tyre either repaired correctly or new tyre fitted. I was assured tyre was now repaired correctly second time around and that I would have no issues.(no apology whatsoever)
Next morning I had to drive down south to airport/holiday and when I went to depart tyre was deflated again. Spare tyre needed to be fitted yet again which left me long journey with no spare. On return from airport I visited garage again and explained situation, raised my complaint that this was now my third time at garage with puncture. Again there was no apology whatsoever from customer service person nor any effort to fix issue knowing I was now back for the third time. Basically told “can’t do anything about it now, need to come back in 3 days”!! I have now had repair done correctly by another dealer and can assure I will not be using this company again. Customer service not good at all.

Never again. Would give minus if possible. Car in for an MOT, failed on a tyre and a new spring required. Was quoted an extraordinary amount for the repairs so said I would take my vehicle elsewhere. Upon collecting my vehicle my car would no longer start, staff were very unhelpful and refused to help if I did not pay. The garage Currently had my vehicle for almost a week and I need to arrange for it to be recovered. Never again. Horrible experience and staff just as bad so rude. Avoid at all costs.

This is the first time i have ever felt the need, the anguish and the sheer disgust to write a review ever. I sincerely hope the bosses of McConechys read this review. Under no circumstances ever !! take your vehicle to McConechys in Arbroath. How a business can be run like this beggers believe. Staff seem nice enough on the face of it but place is like a youth club and mechanics in my opion have relatively low mechanical skills, had my daughters car for more than a day and a half and reassured me over and over again that they would diagnose a simple gear box issue. My daughter is moving to Australia for a year and so was selling her car back to Arnold Clark 2 days later on the Wednesday. They had said there was an issue with the the gear stick and it was loose and had to be classed as a gearbox issue which would take £800 off the value of the vehicle, I had informed McConechys of the time constraints and had made it clear that if they couldn't find the fault ! Couldn't source the parts quick enough or in fact had the time to be able to check the vehicle then to please let me know and I would go to another garage ! No don't worry I was told, we totally understand your situation ! We will get it done and totally reassured me it was all in hand and not to worry at all, it was no problem and sounded like any easy fix and they would have it done by 4 o'clock on the Wednesday as I had to have the vehicle back at Arnokd Clark at 5. Absolutely mortified and digusted then to turn up to be told car hadn't even been looked at !!!! Had to return car to Arnold Clark and £800 was effectively taken out of my daughters pocket towards her funds for Australia ! So so angry😡

I had an MOT and few bits needed replacing. I was served by Filip and the technician was Steven. The guys were really professional. I was kept well informed throughout the whole process and they provided me with great advice. Very happy and will most certainly use this service again.

My partner booked appointment and took time off work. When he arrived he was told there was nothing booked in for him! Waste of time and won't be booking again!!

My daughters car failed its MOT and we had to get it back on the road as quickly as possible. Jordan you are a hero you sorted this out for us and managed to get the car back to us earlier than we thought. Will certainly use this service again.

I suppose to have a MOT 4th of February at 4pm ( the last available Saturday time slot). At 9 am menager phoned me and asked if i could bring my car little bit earlier as they could get my car done a wee bit qiuicker they said . Unfortunately that day I couldnt drop my car earlier. At 12 pm the same day edinburgh sighthill branch phoned me again informing me that emissions machine is broken and they have to cancel my apppitment. I don't have to tell how ragen I was. I decided to get mot 2 weeks before a deadline to make sure i have plenty time to fix what i have to fix.They said i could back on monday morning at 8 to get my mot straight away. Fair play for this however i work Monday Friday and i only can get mot on Saturday so i they rebook me for 11th February for 8 am. I dropped my car for mot at 8 and they told me my time slot is for 11.45 ? My car failed an MOT for offside front indicator not working ( all 4 amber bulbs works fine so i dont know what he smoked that day. I got failed with hand brake which only needed to be adjusted, easy fix. And theuy couldnt start a emission test a apparently i had to low oil in the engine. Wow on dipstick oil was exactly between low and max. They said i will need to get my car serviced ( car been serviced less than 1000miles ago)
They also gave me some absolutely daft advisories like pitted and scored front discs. I replaced a discs and pads not even 2 years ago using ebc top quality brakes. I've done below 10k miles in time so its impossible to wear a brakes in a such a shot time 3/4 time driving on edinburgh bypass. My filterbox apparently wasnt connected properly.The problem is that my car is 18 yo. Its well maintained car by me. I spend around £5-6k in the last 2 years to keep the car in a good nick. They also failed me for leaking PAS steering hose. When i asked which one is leaking they couldn't tell me. After my investigation i found out that the steering rack is leaking not hose like they said. Absolutely shocking. I honestly think they have a issues with a older cars or they been told to keep failing old cars with anything they can. Seriously I will never back to deal with them again. Im sure they cancelled my mot 4th at 4pm because a rugby match Scotland - England was starting at 4.15. In the next 10 days unfortunately I have to come back to them for a retest but after that my person will never back there and ill make sure that my pals will do the same. I cleaned my car before a last MOT and tester propbably did some landscaping before testing my car cos every door handle was covered in mud.

I have been a customer of McConechys Perth King St for 20 years. Since Halfords have taken over all the original staff have left and new staff are in. The original staff were always helpful and informative never talking down to me but the new staff have treated me with an attitude of disrespect and "we know best dont argue". Despite booking my car in I'm told we will get round to looking at your car when we can. If ive booked it in then we have a contract of work. They are not doing me a favour. The staff customer social and professional approach needs some training. I will not be back as it is quite obvious over the last few months with the new staff that they think they are in charge, and the customer doesnt need to be listened to.

Be very careful using McConechys in Airdrie! They damaged all of my alloys changing tyres and went back on their word that they would foot the repair bill. The manager was most unhelpful and refused to acknowledge that it was their fault. Take pictures of your car and wheels beforehand, if you really must use them, although I would advise against it. No apology was ever offered either.

Phoned and booked my car in to McConechys/Halfords Boden Street Glasgow. Spoke to them on the phone and car initially booked in for 12 explained had a hospital appointment at 12 and guy asked if 10 am was better. Booked in for 14/12/2022 at 10am for diagnostic check on engine warning light coming on told that it would be £49.99. Turned up for my appointment to be told buy one of the staff just leave the car and we would phone later on in afternoon. Explained that car was booked in for 10 and i had informed the guy on phone i had appointment at 12 and thats why he made it 10 and would only take an hour their words. This guy said no then we wont be able to do it today and even if we could i would not be allowed to sit in waiting room and wait. Bear in mind it was minus 10 and i am disabled. Poor service and can understand why this particular branch gets a bad write up. I will certainly never book here again. So please bear in mind even though you have confirmed booking its not guarantee with this garage.

Took my car for it's mot but it failed on a small issue so had it repaired. I went into the Oban garage and booked a re test. Manager told me to bring it in 9.30 am Tuesday 6th Dec so I arrived at 9.20am tone told that it wasn't booked in.. it was the same GUY !!! So told they would do it anyway.. I am still hanging around after 4 hours and still no sign of getting it done.. Garage has 1 car getting worked on !! I would advise avoiding Mc Clownechys/Halfords in Oban unless you want a whole day hanging around Oban in minus 3 !! The worst is he made out it was my fault? Awful service and will never go near Any of these tin pot garages ever again..

Update is that it eventually took calling head office and then they done the job. I was hanging around in total for 6 hours !!!! When I got home and checked e mail ...there was the conformation booking for 9.30 am... Then there was a cancelation e mail for 3.45pm ?? Told by Halfords "that was probably manager trying to cover his incompetence " What a shower !

The Airdrie branch of Halfords/ mcconechys had a fast friendly and efficient service..at a time that suited me ...All staff made an effort to make me feel welcome ..What a difference from other local fitters who aren't interested in customer care..

We visited today after the tyre warning light came on during the return journey from holiday. Despite us not having an appointment, we were accommodated and Jamie fixed the problem in 25minutes. Very impressed by the helpful, professional and efficient service. Thanks to the team!

Went to the garage this morning with a bulge in my winter tyre after hitting a pothole, asked them to fit my summer tyres which I had brought with me and they refused as it was not a brand new tyre with a sticker on it, the tyres had done about 300 miles and it was the same garage that fitted the winter tyres. What a terrible short sighted policy this is.

Poor customer service. The staff have bad attitude. Put my car in for knocking noise and they phoned saying car ready and when I got there they said they just took it for a test drive and there is still knocking noise and to take it back at later date. When I got home and put it to another garage I realised locking wheel key missing they denied they had it and it took me to say I will phone head office to complain 20 mins later they phone saying they found my locking key

I arrived at McConechy's on Tuesday 11th January with a puncture. The chap in reception was really friendly and called someone to help. Within 20 minutes my tyre was repaired, no charge (wow!) and really friendly staff who even guided me out into the street when I left. Absolutely delighted with the entire experience. Thanks chaps!

I had excellent service from the men at Fort William garage a few weeks ago when I was caught with a puncture. They fixed it very quickly and had me back on the road in no time.

5.10pm (open till 6) I try to fix puncture repair (5 min job) . And there was two guys sitting in reception do nothing 😐. I ask young blonde boy
and They said cannot do today I can book for other day ... . So I have to go with flat tyre try find other garage . Shame. Never again !
