In further clarification of the critical review posted recently, it has emerged that Columbus Meowtel sitter "Kat", who did not communicate with us by telephone or text during our brief trip, filed a criminal complaint of animal cruelty and neglect with the police, and also stated that we were keeping exotic animals, some of whom were sick and had not received veterinary care. As a result, a pair of armed police officers came to our door with an Animal Control van of the type used for the seizure of dangerous or illegally-held animals.
The sitter's belief that we had "exotic" animals was apparently prompted by my statement that Amadeus the Himalayan was an exotic cat, which technically applies to breeds that have a wild appearance. He was not at all sick, although his eyes may have been watering, which can happen with this breed and for which he has eye drops. How she determined that veterinary care had not been given is beyond us, as she had never seen these cats before, and Amadeus is in fact cared for by a family friend veterinarian, who is as attached to him as we are. The officers, who evidently had formed the opinion that they were making a raid on a number of diseased and illegal animal captives, immediately determined that the allegations were baseless and left.
I could not inquire of "Kat" as to any further particulars, as our Meowtel account had been terminated and all previous email correspondence disappeared. Meowtel obviously backs this woman up fully, as subsequent email inquiries were responded to only with another copy of the "safe environments" policy, and after another day they stopped responding altogether.
Anyone who does business with Meowtel, and anyone who engages the sitter "Kat" in Columbus, must consider that they may well face the same risk of criminal accusation and investigation and being raided or even shot.

Amy, the cat sitter is an amazing “cat whisperer.” My cats were immediately at ease with her and I was able to enjoy my trip with great assurance that they would be well cared for. Amy was very communicative and the photos and videos she sent showed how relaxed the cats were. I highly recommend Amy through Meowtel.

I started using Meowtel about 3 years ago. At that time I had two cats - brother and sister. They were getting older. My sitter, Reneda understood the assignment. She fed them, cleaned their litter box and sat with them for a few minutes. There were times when she had to "locate" the cats but not often. Anyway, I felt safe and secure leaving my cats in her care. I have used Meowtel several times since and have always been satisfied.

Skyelar was amazing and so good with my senior cat. She took care of everything and my cat loved her (and she rarely lets anyone go near her). I can trust her with anything.

Alyssa was wonderful. She took care of two very 'needy' rescues who trusted her and even sat on her on occasion for cuddles- a great achievement for two cats with trust issues. She also took care of two other cats in mny house and fed my feral community outside. She sent photos to me every single day of my kitty family so I was able to relax knowing they were in the best hands. I would highly recommend her.

App is easy to use. Our Catsitter Samantha does a great job interacting with the cats, cleaning litter boxes, etc.

Meowtel was easy to use and helped me to quickly find someone who could take care of our diabetic cat while we were on vacation. Our sitter was fantastic and the entire process could not have been easier.

Megan exceeded all expectations! I recently hired her for a five-day cat-sitting and house-sitting reservation, and she was fantastic. Not only did she take wonderful care of my cat, but she also went above and beyond by bringing in my mail and packages while taking excellent care of my home. My sitter, Amanda, was outstanding. Showed up on time for the meet and greet, took the time to let my shy cat feel comfortable, and communicated very well. I'm very happy with the service and will be using this service again.

Basically, a good company but beware - Delta canceled my flight less than 24 hours from start of pet sitter due to bad weather, and Meowtel charged the full amount- they did not refund one penny of my reservation. Seems a more fair way would be at least a partial refund. I have travel insurance, but they do not cover this type of claim. Think carefully before you reserve.
For BEST results, try to find a sitter who is stable and has been there for awhile. The nature of the job is that sitters come and go with high frequency. I had another trip coming up and they would have allowed me to change dates and use the money I had already paid, but you cannot switch sitters if you need to switch dates. The sitter I had paid for was quitting before my next trip in a month.
While I thank Meowtel for their response, it is disingenuous. When I went to the site to cancel bc of flight cancellation, I was given 2 choices: 1. Change dates- and when I tried I could not bc the sitter would no longer work there and I could not choose another sitter for the Aug trip- and 2. I was advised I would receive no refund. So all of this business about discussing it with the sitter is false.
Again- lack of info provided to patrons. There is no mention of this when you cancel.

Our cat-sitter, Tamara, was fabulous! It took a few tries to find the perfect fit, but Tamara is so sweet with our three cats, even our difficult old man who can be grumpy with strangers. The app is easy to use at all stages including making and modifying reservations and communicating with our sitter, and Tamara shared pictures every day of our cats, their food and water, and the sparkling clean litter boxes; she even sent pictures of our armed home security system for our peace of mind! Having this service lets me and my husband go on vacation sure that our pets are in good hands.

Obviously letting a stranger into your home to care for your pets is no small matter. Meowtel was very easy to navigate, choose a provider with great reviews and watch the process play out smoothly.

If you’re a bona fide cat lover and owned by precious cats, you can trust Meowtel to provide caring and quality cat care. After losing their long time sitter, nerves were wrought in finding a solid replacement. My friends, not 1, but 2 solid replacements were found. The cat caregivers are thoroughly vetted. They are truly experts in cat behavior. My caregiver was superior in her ability to handle my cat who is shy and can be temperamental. My cat is a one person pet. My caregiver won her favor on the first visit. They will be friends for life.
