I been using Minds for over 3 years…
I been using Minds for over 3 years now. Made a ton of friends, built a small business, been part of various community or admin organised events and contests. It's completely decentralised, open source platform. No corporate adds, special interests or any of that crap. Regular townhall meetings are held with administration, where you can talk to them face to face. There's always something going on there. The community is truly exceptional. Of course, being free speech platform you get occasional loon but that's what the block button is for. The other great benefit is they pay you to post unlike FB or Twatter. You can then use those tokens to boost your posts for exposure and grow your channel or as local Minds currency. You can support other content creators with them, the platform does have that function and it costs nothing to set up. Anyone can create a bunch of tiers for supporters and set up desired monthly fee. If you wanna exchange Minds tokens into crypto, you'll need Minds+ account unfortunately. It's cheap and definitely worth getting. Be warned though, if you do token farming by spamming Minds with generic nature or cat photos from google and brake TOS, your submitted transaction request will likely be blocked, tokens taken away. People hate spammers and token manipulators there. The community have groups dedicated to hunt those type of accounts. All in all, it's a great place to make friends, be original content creator and terrible for spammers, scammers and token manipulators. You wanna do well there, put in some work, build your following up like on any other social media platform. If you want to have your cake and eat it too, you'll be one of those complaining and calling it a scam when token transaction is blocked. Some people have a sense of entitlement the size of the planet. Freaking unreal. Come join if you value privacy, want to be part of cosy community and run your mouth freely without a fear of ban hammer. It's like FB but user centred, transparent platform. Anyone can check out the code, see how it works, check what's in development and so on. No hidden algorithms or shadowbans.

submitted a support ticket and *crickets*
I had a technical issue and got no support whatsoever. Tried reaching out numerous ways. The site is very buggy and features like account deletion do not work they way they are supposed to.
Beyond Horrific
Horrific. Beyond bad. It is an extremely hard site to navigate; they claim they will pay you yet it is extraordinarily hard to understand. Tokens? After finally being able to access my tokens, I started having technical issues, and it seems as though my account was frozen. I also wanted to mention this: I’ve noticed my email accounts getting much more spam. There are broken links on the minds.com page that will lead you into pornography sites. I would not use this site, not recommend it…. Even though I have my own server and religiously use a VPN I would never touch the site with a 10 foot pole.
You will be never able to withdraw tokens- An advanced level Scam
Hello gyus, only thing i have to tell you is never try minds because you cannot withdraw earned tokens.I will share now my honest review with you. i was using minds for longtime and there was about 300 tokens.when i was tried to withdraw tokens then they asked me to connect my etherium wallet.so i connected my wallet and tried to withdraw tokens. Then they asked me to upgrade into minds+ by paying 7$/months if you want to withdraw your tokens. So i have upgraded to minds+ too. Then i have tried to withdraw my tokens in to the wallet. Most horrible thing happend after that. They asked a transaction fee of about 110$ in etherium for withdraw tokens.it was insane!. I have paid that transaction fee also and then tried to withdraw. finnally what happened is they banned my accout and never reciwed any single token.loss the transcation fee of 110$ is the most horrible thing.
Spam bot infested, jury system not used in bans
I had been on Minds for two years and had about $250 in crypto rewards for the tokens though I never cashed out. Yesterday I got banned summarily with spam given as the reason. I had commented on one of the spam bot posts where all the commenters made one line comments (all were spam bots), said I was blocking them. Minds banned my account without ever activating the jury system, the spammer probably used a ton of fake accounts to report me.
I cannot recommend Minds.
So minds.com was my first and longest…
So minds.com was my first and longest foray into 'social media', a little over two years worth. So yesterday morning, after posting several more of my opinions/news links, I received an 'account banned' notification, without any explanation other than the mention of "spam". I responded in the mini-reply form they provide, and received nothing back. I've never received so much as a warning in over two years. I've been on internet offering my opinion since 1997, and have never 'spammed' a single thing. I can comment anywhere, and do so, so in one sense it's no great loss. But, I obviously offended the wrong person, or since I finally started for the first time to convert two years worth of unused 'tokens' into something spendable in the real world, someone took notice and banned me before I could. Whatever the reason, I still support the right of any 'social media' platform to do whatever they want with their own site, and make no mistake about it, all these sites belong to the owners, not the users. That said, minds, com is their own little fiefdom and will always remain so.
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
This is a scam website, as when you come to withdraw it says to upgrade your membership and you made it, it creates so many ambiguous errors that you can't withdraw from it.
So please avoid using this site.
Censored speech site
Claims to be a free speech site, but have no interest in those principles. Use only if you've been banned from somewhere you'd rather be, or if you can exploit that crypto thing they have running.
This site started off great when I…
This site started off great when I joined 3 years ago, but has slowly gone to CRAP! The Boost feature, Minds plus accounts and in complete lack of attention by the administrators to issues like the Theft of Original art and content is Completely Ignored.
Way to Go Bill Ottman! at least you can say that in your lifetime you have completely Ruined a good Thing!!!
Play to Earn Social Media with no censorship and decentralised governance.
Minds pays you to use their Social Media site. Or rather advertisers pay and you get a decent cut of the profits. Even better, they pay you in cryptocurrency.
The two screenshots below are my token balance and my Minds+ balance. The first is rewards for people liking, commenting on and retweeting your posts, the latter is a share of site revenue.
If you wish you'd got into cryptocurrencies years ago then this site is for you. Frankly the education I've received in terms of DeFi, staking and the crypto community is worth far more than the rather impressive figures I've managed to earn.
In many ways Minds embodies the philosophy of the crypto community. Ownership and governance should be shared ( so no Bill Gates or Zuckerberg types), centralisation of power is wrong and code is law.
Hence there is no censorship and if someone transgresses the law then it is a jury panel of 12 users who decide what to do about it. Not moderators.
On a user experience level it feels a bit like twitter only without the character limit. However where twitter is a cess pit the rewards structure seems to prevent Minds from becomming the same. If someone want's to organise a pile on on Minds then they are giving points to that user, hence things tend to be a lot more civilised. Hence if you disagree with something, you are incentivised to ignore it.
It also has blogs and groups, some of the art and creator / NFT ones are particularly good. Artists and the like create things, turn them into NFTs and get points whn people comment or like them. It also allows them to showcase their wares on NFT markets, though I believe Minds are working on such too.
It can feel a bit empty at first, though once you've followed some hashtags, cashtags or people your network seems to expand quickly. I'd suggest using your first tokens to 'boost' your content. One token = 1000 views so if you pick up a few subscribers then it's well worth it.
It is still under active development and the rewards system has only been in place for a few months now. I have found the odd bug, though as it is open source reporting these helps to fix them. Whilst it isn't quite the finished article it is 98% there and the support staff seem to take any suggestions for how it can be improved. The roadmap for the future is impressive too, they recently raised $10 million and will be using this to make it even more decentralised... Which is the future I think.
Without any censorship, shadowbanning or deboosting you can make an impression fairly quickly on Minds. I was verified after a couple of weeks, have well over 100 followers and really enjoy it there.
Course the most impressive part is their integration into the Ethereum blockchain. You can take the tokens you have earned and convert them into Eth. The exchange rate varies but it's currently about 2500 tokens per Eth, I'd say it is reasonably easy to earn 2 or 3 tokens a day.
Course this does attract people who view it as a cash machine rather than a social media site. As a free speech site you'll also find almost everyone who has been banned from Twitter, Facebook and the rest. The likes of Stefan Molyneux, Alex Jones and David Icke. If you don't follow them, you won't see it. There is also some content which is NSFW or reprehensible, though it must be marked such. Personally I don't really like the anime though there is a cotterie of people who insist that posting cartoons of worryingly young looking toons is free speech. The block button is your friend, so you'll only see it once from each user.
Certainly the cryptocurrency, artists, conspiracy theorists and onlyfans types seem to be over-represented but there's plenty or normality and cute cat videos too. It is what you make of it.
I took out plus membership ($5 a month) after a couple of weeks on the site, despite being stingy, which gets me a 25% share of ad revenue pro rata. You can also get Pro membership for $40, and 50% share of ad revenue. Thus far the ad revenue doesn't quite cover the $5 a month outlay, though it does considerably reduce it and you can buy plus membership with tokens, making it entirely free. I think you'd need quite a loyal following already to make real use of Pro membership.
I love it, as you might be able to tell. It's a complete breath of fresh air and reminds me a bit of the internet back in the late 90s. The Wild West maybe, but thus far a very profitable and fun experience.
I'm guessing that the negative reviews have been written by employees from rival sites.
So far better than facebook
So far better than facebook. There are many gray areas I can't answer, but glad to be part of minds. Atleast you will see people here voice out what they want, unlike fabook and google that will BAN you.
I think MINDS is peachy Keen
I think MINDS is peachy Keen. I have rarely ever encountered censorship, the people are nice and most are real- not your purple headed screaming harpy crowd. Lots of interesting people and content- if you don't go in planning to "spread truth' (as you progressives call it). It is much better than Facebook.
Many Childish Immature (and Trolls?) people on Minds.com
Honestly, I am least impressed with other posters on this social media site. I'm getting a lot of troll type comments from anti-truth posters. Not sure how many paid and how many brainwashed. Feels like so far a mainstream brainwashed infested type social media site rather than an alternative Truth social media sites for those of us already ridiculed for sharing Truth on others sites or worse.
Very poor site
Very poor site. Not easy to communicate with Minds if you have a account/pay query.
@ottman @john Tokens are legally ours…
@ottman @john Tokens are legally ours to do what we wish with, any attempt to stop free-market trades and taking people's funds after they have acquired them goes against so much that this community stands for.
I really suggest you allow people to freely do what they wish with their tokens, including trading for another crypto, I know of a few people you've taken thousands of tokens off, did you wanna catch a hot court case?
The fact you in your own website description state that this is a site we can earn money on is bull because anyone trying to transfer to on-chain to sell is punished. ducking trash.
Too clever by Half
Too clever by Half
Minds is extremely hard to get into and find your way around. How do you find if your friends are there?
Any suggestions?
This is terrible!
This is terrible!
The whole purpose of this site is for Free speech but then i get banned for no reason!!! And before they banned me for no reason they censored me before by deleting my posts and giving me warnings! (even though there was nothing wrong with them) THIS IS FAR FROM FREE SPEECH! And that is just about their censorship.... The site itself isn't that great and has a bad layout. And it is filled with alot of annoying propaganda.
All of these reviews are fake
All of these reviews are fake. Misleading garbage from big tech employees, and their bots. $5000 says some blue haired weirdo that works for Google sent this stupid site to the top of their search engine.
