Extremely negative experience....
Extremely negative experience and completely unreliable vehicle.
We booked a Suzuki Jimny convertible (old model) through the agency's website, but the photos and description published did not match the reality at all. We knew we were renting a discontinued car (old model), but nevertheless, the car must be kept in perfect working order and in good overall condition, especially for safety.
What we received upon arrival in Naxos (stay from August 25th to 30th) was an old, neglected, and above all dangerous vehicle to drive.
The overall condition of the car was unacceptable for a rental vehicle: heavily worn bodywork, with obvious damage and rust spots, worn tires, a steering wheel with excessive play, hard to turn, and numerous signs of lack of maintenance. The engine showed serious difficulties even on the island's normal hill climbs, nearly stalling several times, and conveying a constant feeling of unreliability and insecurity.
The roof tops had a serious problem, tending to open automatically when the car was being driven. This was an extremely dangerous situation that should never happen in a rental vehicle. Furthermore, the locks were so inefficient that it was impossible to leave any items in the trunk with even a modicum of safety, as the compartment could not be truly closed and secure.
The interior was equally disastrous: damaged plastics, loose parts, completely broken rear armrests, and a dashboard in truly embarrassing condition.
Upon delivery, we immediately reported the vehicle's condition and requested a replacement, stating that we were willing to accept a lower-category vehicle. The employee, in an attempt to get us to sign the contract, assured us that the replacement would be made within the day or at the latest the following day, as soon as a car returned. This promise was never kept, despite our repeated requests.
We even considered reporting the vehicle to the local authorities, deeming it unsuitable for rental in terms of safety. However, we decided not to waste any more time so as not to jeopardize our vacation.
I strongly advise you to be very careful: the difference between what was advertised and what was actually delivered is huge, and the reliability of the vehicle received was, in our opinion, completely insufficient to guarantee a peaceful and safe holiday.
