Beware of extra charges not mentioned till you have a breakdown..

I joined Motoring assistance 16 months ago. Rang them at 10.19am on 19th Oct 2026, my car dashboard was displaying system fault and electric handbrake was stuck. He give me an option over the phone, either i have recover guy come out to fix it or have it tow to garage of my choice. If i choose for them to fix it. He said if they can't fix it they won't tow my car to the garage. They forced me to make a choice over the phone then force me to pay £110 in advance. (Breakdown service said i might need a skate and winch to move my car onto their truck when it arrives and insisted i pay £110 before they call out.) 70 mins later, they call to say there will be a delay of 2 hours more. I waited over 3 hours for their call out. They arrived at 13.38pm (rang at 10.19am) guy came out and put broken pieces of plastic under my wheels and attach it to a towing line. (Skate and winch) this should have been included in policy as i have national recovery and roadside rescue.
I have had AA, RAC and Green Flag before.
They all include any equipment used for recovery, they dont charge extra for them when towing.
They also try to fix vehicle first, if they can't then they tow to garage of my choice. NOT FORCE ME TO MAKE A CHOICE over the phone TOW OR FIX? And Charge me £110 upfront before callout.
MOTORING ASSISTANCE is a right rip off.
After their recovery guy tow me to the garage, he ask for a power pack to test my battery. My car started right away.
Recovery guy told my mechanic he suspect the problem was my car battery.
Mechanic informs me that the recovery guy could have just jump started my car instead of con me out of £110 for a tow i didnt need.
Only fault was my car had original battery from manufacturer and it died.
Car did not require a tow at all. It needed a jump start. Motoring Assistance is a disgrace. I will not be renewing with them again and defo would not recommend them to anyone. Beware of this company at all cost. They will trick you in your hour of need...

Absolute joke,they came out to jump…
Absolute joke,they came out to jump start a flat battery took 5 hours to come,got the car started,2 weeks later i called again as car wouldnt start they said it would be £150 for a jump start i told them to stick their assistance and cancelled.
They replied to my review funny how they want to rectify things when its too late,i also informed them it was my wife on her own in the car but this made no difference
