I’ve moved many times before, and this was by far the worst experience. From the start, communication was poor — no call backs after they took the deposit. On moving day, they overcharged us because they “needed” to make two trips, even though we were told over the phone that a larger van would be provided. Our only couch was damaged, and because the damage wasn’t on the seat area and the couch is still technically usable, they refused to offer any compensation. Extremely disappointing.

Edit to add (after company responded to my Google review): I was only told mover A was brand new at the end of my 8.5 hour move. There is no “extensive explanation” as the company claims. I actually am learning about, for the first time, the “extensive in house training” for new staff on this review, thanks to the power of Google. Finally hearing a sorry from the company on Google reviews and not in all my exchanges with them simply confirms my views.
We chose Move On because of the good reviews, reasonable rates and booking was quick and easy, we were able to book in our preferred move date just two weeks before. Our two movers arrived on time, but said their tools had been stolen so they needed to borrow ours to disassemble our furniture. All good until we realised during the move that mover A is brand new (it was his first day) and mover B was coaching A the entire time including where to place his hands and how to shift his weight to lift the items, and lots of reminders of ‘be careful not to hit the wall’. Mover B was amazing, really patient and encouraging, clearly experienced. Mover A however wasn’t meticulous despite his colleague’s repeated reminders. As a result there were four holes on two walls of my stairway. There were also several times when A would just drop my furniture when he couldn’t hold the weight. Loud booms each time he dropped them especially on my stairs. This was especially evident when moving into our new place, as A was clearly exhausted. The entire move took 8.5 hours (which means we paid a lot of money in the end!), even we were exhausted but if the company hadn’t sent a completely new hand for a two-men job it wouldn’t have taken so long! What is appalling is the after sales service - I provided all these feedback to the company, they tried to minimize the problems. I sent pictures of the holes in my wall and of a broken furniture leg. The company’s response is “we were misled to believe we had an experienced mover joining our ranks” and “the matter was not reported to us the day of the move” (I emailed in the evening after the grueling 8.5 hours, didn’t have the chance to check everything before the movers left) and “it (my broken furniture leg) looks like it could be adjusted back to a repairable state” and “it is only a leg” in the eyes of the insurer. The email responses were completely oblivious to how the company was not communicating any empathy despite their claims they were. How can a broken leg be expected to hold weight even if you can bend it back to shape? We had to purchase entire new set of legs as the original design was no longer available. We were not compensated. With the walls, the painter/insurer contacted me 12 days after the move and said mine is a small job so he could only work on it three days later. That’s two weeks of just waiting around. We were worn out by all the feet dragging and uncertain quality of the patchwork of this ‘insurer’ so we covered the costs ourselves to fix the damages.
All in all, good experience with before sale and great staff there in Mover B. But everything else has just left a really bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn’t recommend this company at all to anyone. I count myself lucky that there wasn’t more damage for the number of times my heart dropped when my furniture was dropped with a loud boom and the number of breaths I held when seeing mover A almost scrape my walls. And that the admin staff finally ended their defensive/minimising correspondences that only made their customer feel worse. If you read their negative reviews you will find the company takes time to defend themselves and further making the customer seem like we have no right to give valid feedback. Never dealt with such movers before and won’t ever want to again.

I am writing this review to shed light on the manipulative tactics employed by MoveOn Removals. Not only did they negligently scratch my floor during the move, but their deliberate delay and inaction over the past six months have been nothing short of infuriating. I strongly discourage anyone from using their services.
The level of negligence displayed by the company is beyond belief. Not only did they damage my precious flooring, but they also failed to take responsibility for their actions. Despite numerous promises and assurances, they have failed to address the issue or provide any compensation for the damages caused. In addition to their negligence, the overall quality of their service was subpar. The movers showed up late, appeared disinterested, and mishandled my belongings. It was a chaotic and disorganized experience from start to finish.
It has become apparent to me that their whole intention is to wear me out with time, hoping that I would eventually accept their actions and give up on seeking a solution. Despite numerous reminders, calls, and emails, they have shown no sense of urgency or willingness to address the damage they caused.
It is deeply concerning that a company would resort to such tactics, putting their customers through unnecessary stress and frustration. Instead of taking responsibility for their actions, they choose to ignore the problem, hoping it will go away. This lack of integrity and respect for their customers is simply unacceptable.
To make matters worse, their customer service has been unresponsive and dismissive. It seems they have no interest in resolving the issue or providing any form of compensation for the damages. This complete disregard for customer satisfaction is disgraceful and speaks volumes about their professionalism.
I want to caution anyone considering MoveOn Removals' services to think twice. Their intention to wear customers out with time and lack of action is a clear indication of their unethical practices. Choose a company that values their customers and takes responsibility for their mistakes. Do not subject yourself to the frustration and disappointment I have endured.
I sincerely hope that my review serves as a warning to others, preventing them from falling into the same trap. Avoid MoveOn Removals at all costs and opt for a reputable and responsible company that will prioritize your satisfaction and the well-being of your property. I cannot emphasize enough how dissatisfied I am with these Their indifference towards my damaged floor and their lack of accountability are unacceptable. I implore anyone reading this review to steer clear of their services. Save yourself the stress, headache, and potential property damage by choosing a more reputable and responsible company. My experience with MoveOn Removals has been a complete nightmare, and I would not wish it upon anyone. Don't make the same mistake I did - find a trustworthy and reliable furniture removalist elsewhere.
In June 2021, MoveOnRemovals moved our household goods 7km to the neighbouring suburb and it was a disaster. The job took 3 inexperienced removalists (real jobs were arborist, tertiary student and unknown) 11 hours with a 12 tonne truck to move our household effects. They ran into the driveway pillar, sustained significant damage to 3 solid timber furniture items, and damage at least 12 storage containers to a write-off status because they stacked them 10 high in the truck.
One of the guys was forever on his phone not interested in doing the job.
When it came time to pay at the end of the job they had trouble getting their EFTPOS machine to work. They are instructed to get payment at the end of the job but with the EFTPOS machine not working after 30 min they rang the boss Danny who advised that he expected the workers to be paid overtime by me whilst they were trying to get the EFTPOS machine working. I was not my fault that the machine wouldn’t function and the workers had to agree not to be paid for this additional time on site.
I paid for insurance as part of the quote however I have found that the policy is really what the firm doesn’t cover. Whilst they did after 7 months agree to pay for the repair of the brick driveway pillar, they refused to pay any compensation for the damage to the solid timber furniture items or storage tubs. Whilst they did use some clingwrap and blankets it was clearly not enough and the furniture treatment was sufficient harsh to sustain significant damage to solid timber items of furniture.
I had in Nov 2020 used MoveonRemovals to move the same household effects 100km from Melbourne and this was achieved with 2 men in 7 hours. Very happy experience in Nov 2020 but very unsatisfactory experience in June 2021.
I won’t roll the dice by using them in the future. Your goods deserve to be treated better.
Alfie & Graham did amazing job today with my move. They handle my things very carefully and quickly. They arrive on time , very friendly and we get everything done in the end in 2 hours. Very impressed !
