Terrible customer service - long delays in replies to emails
Gave this to my daughter as gift through red letter days - that bit was fine but Terrible customer service from mudermysteryevents.com. The experience of trying to book is awful - no code(store credit) received from them until after the booking she made had expired and takes over 2 weeks to get a reply to emails despite saying a reply will be provided in 48 hours

Might be ok for others, not our thing
I didn’t know what to expect having not done a murder mystery evening before. It was not good - the actors were manic and seemed to be just having a laugh for themselves. There were three actors, all of whom were very amateur though enthusiastic. However one of them was also acting as the photographer - was taking pics regularly all night, which I personally found quite intrusive, and he even did it mid scene. The food was average / poor. Wouldn’t recommend unless you like farce type approach.

A Brilliant Night Out – Laughing From Start to Finish!
I recently attended the "Better By Nun" murder mystery event in Droitwich Spa, and it was an absolute blast. From the moment I sat down, the cast had me laughing, and the entertainment didn't stop all evening.
The acting was incredibly amusing, and the comedic timing of the performers was absolutely spot on. What really made the night special was how interactive the cast were with the audience—they brought a fantastic energy to the room and kept everyone completely engaged in the mystery.
It is fantastic value for money, and I will definitely be doing this again. If you are looking for a fun, hilarious, and unique night out, I highly recommend booking one of their events!

Thought provoking and quite entertaining but noisy so couldn't hear the actors answers to other diners questions and didn't get chance to question actors long enough.

Needed more time with the actors and less emphasis on paperwork/word search.

Fantastic evening, great food, very accommodating and great acting. We had a really lovely time. I was expecting more characters but the three actors made it a great night and fun.

Thank you so much for your fantastic review – we’re thrilled you had such a lovely evening!
It’s great to hear you enjoyed the food and found the experience fun and engaging. Our actors will be delighted with your comments – creating a brilliant atmosphere with a smaller cast is something they pride themselves on.
If you’d enjoy a version with even more characters and interaction, we’d highly recommend coming back with a group of friends or colleagues. Many of our larger events and private parties feature expanded casts, bigger storylines, and even more twists.
We also run themed events and special nights throughout the year, so there’s always something new to experience.
We’d love to welcome you again soon – and if you’re planning a celebration or group night out, do get in touch… we’ll help you make it unforgettable.

Name not down after paying !! waste of time !
Booked this for my wife’s birthday. We arrived at the hotel in good time and enjoyed a few pre drinks in the lobby with other guests. When it came time to be seated, our names weren’t on the reservation list - despite showing confirmation that the booking had been made and paid for.
Staff apologised, but we had clearly been missed off completely. It ended up being a total waste of time and money (two cab fares, etc.), and we weren’t the only couple affected.
I’ve since emailed requesting a refund but received no reply or apology, so I’ve had to reclaim the payment through PayPal instead.
Very poor customer service

Dear Ian,
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, and please accept our sincere apologies for the experience you had. What you describe is completely unacceptable and falls well short of the standard we expect of ourselves.
You were absolutely right to be frustrated — arriving for a special birthday celebration to find your booking missing, despite confirmation and payment, is incredibly disappointing. The lack of follow-up to your email afterwards only compounded the situation, and for that we are genuinely sorry.
This was a breakdown in our internal booking and communication process, and we fully acknowledge that we failed you on the night and afterwards. You should not have had to reclaim your payment via PayPal, and we regret that this was necessary.
Since this incident, we have reviewed and tightened our confirmation and reconciliation procedures to ensure bookings are double-checked with venues in advance, and customer emails are responded to promptly. While that doesn’t undo your experience, it is important to say that we have taken this seriously and acted on it.
Thank you for raising this — and again, our apologies for the inconvenience, expense, and disappointment caused.
Kind regards,
Mark

Awful murder mystery experience
This was such a disappointment and absolute waste of money.
£90 per person. (I was promised a discount for a group booking which I never received).
Melon & ham, cold pasta & melon for dessert. Horrendous!! Actors were terrible and not remotely funny. Avoid at all costs!!

Dear CG,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I’m very sorry to read how disappointed you were with your experience.
We did reach out at the time to ask for further details so we could properly investigate the points you raised, including the group discount you mention and your concerns around the food and performance. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive a response, and I also acknowledge that we did not follow up on this publicly as promptly as we should have — for that, I apologise.
Our events are designed to combine interactive theatre with a hosted dinner experience, and while many guests enjoy the style, we fully accept that this evening did not meet your expectations. That is never the outcome we want for anyone who books with us, particularly at a premium price point.
We take feedback like this seriously and continually review both our venue catering arrangements and performance standards. If you would still be willing to share more detail, we would genuinely welcome the opportunity to review what went wrong and see if we can make amends.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi,
Thank you for your message. We appreciate you raising this and would like to add some context for clarity.
At the time this review was posted (over a year ago), we were experiencing an unusually high volume of enquiries and bookings, which regrettably led to delays in returning some calls. This was a temporary situation and not reflective of our normal service levels.
Since then, we’ve strengthened our systems and response processes to ensure enquiries are handled promptly and consistently.
If you’re still considering an event, we’d be very happy to provide all the information you need so you can make an informed choice.
Thank you for raising this and allowing us the opportunity to address it.
Kind regards,
Mark

AVOID!
AVOID!! Paid for an event, was emailed a week before to say it's cancelled, and did I want more tickets for something else or refund, requested refund, still not received it even though it claimed to be processed, getting a reply from any one is slow. Event that I paid for that was cancelled was still available for others to buy tickets until I informed them, why was it still for sale. Will likely have to go down the route to make sure others don't waste their time buying events with this company and request my money back through visa. So all in all, avoid and save yourself the hassle I've now got

Hi Jenna Unfortunately the event cancellation was not our decision and at short notice. If we have to reschedule anything its usually with one month's notice We refunded your booking immediately on hearing from you. It can take up to 10 days for a processor to refund the transaction, although its usually much quicker. My apologies for the disappointment and upset caused.
