"I purchased a BMW 1 Series (NL18UVC) from Mustang Autos in December 2025, and it has been the most disappointing and stressful vehicle-buying experience I have ever had. I feel it is my duty to warn others about the condition of the vehicles they supply and their lack of accountability.

The vehicle was riddled with issues that became apparent immediately. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the problems I have identified:
Engine & Mechanical: Failed turbocharger and actuator causing the vehicle to go into "limp mode," an exhaust leak, an engine rattling when pulling, and a failed heater matrix (which emits smoke and mist into the cabin).
Safety & Suspension: Warped brake discs, noisy wheel bearings, and noisy swing arm/suspension bushes.
Cosmetic & Condition: A cracked windscreen, multiple dents, unprofessional paint repairs (including the front grille being bodged with a spray can), a damaged tyre with a chunk missing, a missing rear parcel shelf, and an unpleasant interior smell requiring professional cleaning.
History & Documentation: Missing service history since 2017/2018.
The financial burden caused by this vehicle has been significant. To date, I have faced the following documented costs:
Turbocharger replacement estimate: £2,237.11
Heater matrix repair estimate: £1,600+
Diagnostic costs incurred: £150.00
When I raised these concerns immediately after collection, the dealership showed zero interest in rectifying them or taking responsibility. My experience suggests they are a company that changes its name and moves locations frequently to avoid disgruntled customers. They rely on finance brokers to secure the sale but provide no after-sales support when their vehicles are fundamentally unfit for purpose. Save yourself the money, safety risks, and stress—avoid Mustang Autos."

A friendly experience don't get me wrong, however please make sure you get a proof of sale/ receipt, you send off the DVLA documents yourself and check the car with a mechanic before purchase if you can. Otherwise you may find black oil and a dirty air filter after "it's been serviced", poorly done repairs and bus lane fines from the car you part exchanged 3 months after the sale.

I had a great experience at Mustang Autos and I'm really happy with my purchase. Sam was awesome to deal with—he made the whole process quick, easy, and totally stress-free. If you’re looking for a used car without the typical runaround, definitely go see Sam!
