​I am writing this to warn others about the dangerous lack of quality control and the unethical practices at Navaro. My experience has been a nightmare, and they are now actively trying to suppress my honest account of what happened.

​The Vehicle: A Safety Risk
​I was delivered a car that had just "passed" an MOT at Navaro’s own internal centre, yet an independent check immediately revealed:

​Gross Mechanical Negligence: New anti-roll bar drop links were fitted, but the passenger-side nut was severely loose—a life-threatening failure.

​Statutory Failures: Three bald tyres and a massive arc scratch on the windscreen obstructing the driver’s vision (automatic MOT failures).

​Undeclared History: The car had been in an accident and resprayed. Navaro knew this but failed to declare it.

​Electrical Damage: The rear washer was not working. On inspection it was discovered that it was actual pumping water directly into the boot light and electrics.

​The Refund "Ransom"
​After rejecting the vehicle, they first refused to take the vehicle back. Eventually Navaro collected it but refused to issue my refund unless I signed a contract. This "contract" demanded I remove my reviews, forfeit my £350 delivery fee, and waive my legal rights. I have refused to sign this, as holding a statutory refund hostage is unacceptable.

​Attempts to Suppress the Truth
​Every time I post a factual review of my experience, Navaro flags it for removal. They are more focused on hiding the truth than on customer safety. For anyone wishing to see the photographic evidence of the faults and the contract they tried to force me to sign, please see my Google Review for this company, where I have uploaded all the proof.

Novara used to have another name. Searching this I discovered numerous negative reviews.

​Final Verdict
​I have reported this company to Trading Standards and the DVSA. Do not trust Navaro with your money or your safety.

As a woman buying a car alone you always feel a bit uncertain, but this Garage was excellent from start to finish. They were very friendly and honest. The prices are very reasonable and there is something for everyone on the forecourt. I've used their workshop too and also found that to be fantastic and well priced.

Having visited dealerships by train around Manchester I was invariably disappointed when viewing/testing cars. So, during the Easter Storm Dave I walked down to Novara to be greeted by Paul, Jag and latterly Alex. They are straightforward, professional and good humoured but most of all patient with all my questions on a car I hadn't previously considered. The AA test reports made the purchase more reassuring. I took delivery yesterday and would highly recommend others to pay them a visit. Thank you all for your help.

Bought an MG3 from them. Alex and Jag very helpful and very professional. No heavy sell and the car was serviced through the garage and newly MOT’d.

Purchased through their AA scheme and they were brilliant. Sorting my road license and helping with my insurance reworking.

Booked an MOT online on Sunday night for the Monday. Spoke in the morning and dropped the car off at 11. Great service throughout and were quick to fix our issue the same day. Would definitely use them again

I bought a hyundai Tucson from Novara cars from Glossop. Alex was the person assisting me to but a car. Alex was incredibly helpful and patient. Alex couldn't have been more helpful and honest. I don't know the first thing about buying a car, but that was not a problem. Alex advised me, and reassured me with all my questions. Not once did I feel like any question was a stupid question. I can't praise Alex or Navara highly enough. I recommend them and would certainly use them again if I need to purchase a second hand car. Even after driving the car off the forecourt, I know I can go back if I have any concerns with the car I bought, and my concerns will be respected and addressed, which gives you piece of mind. Amazing.

Dealt with Alex at Novara Glossop. He was very professional, and friendly; throughout the process and never with any pressure selling. He also met us half-way when we had different trade-in valuations for our old car, meaning the purchase of the new car went ahead smoothly and we are very pleased with our new vehicle. I’m so pleased I came across Novara after what felt like a long and pretty overwhelming car search. They’ve got a great range of quality cars at really good prices, and the team were all so friendly and accommodating to me and my newborn baby.

It was my first time buying a car for myself, so I was feeling a quite nervous about making the right choice. Alex was great — super helpful, really knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. He made the whole experience really easy and stress-free.

Jag and the team at Novara have been incredible while looking after us while I’ve been in the process of buying a Jaguar XF from them.

Came across their XF on Autotrader while generally browsing for an upgrade on my current Audi A5. What caught my attention was the upgraded infotainment system and atheistic look of the car with fairly low mileage for the age and type of car it is.

Enquired about the car and got on the phone with Jag about 5 or so mins before they closed (typical last minute kind of customer behaviour from me) Jag is by far one of the best used car advisors I’ve come across, especially with a car sales background myself.

Polite, friendly and very honest, so how do I back this up to someone who is reading this review and considering a purchase through Novara…?

As mentioned the main interest was over the infotainment system, during our call we ran through some details and never once felt rushed to get off the phone with closing time looming closer. He promised to send over a video of the car and infotainment system the following morning which was received via WhatsApp at the time he said he’d have it over by. (Honesty point number 1)

Couple of minutes worth of content to show me round the car and interior, I’d previously looked round the images listed of the car and noticed a scuff on the front bumper and with knowing this car had recently come into stock I hadn’t mentioned it as it was still due to be prepped by their back of house team, to my surprise around 10 mins after the initial video a 2nd unprompted video came through showing the scuff I’d noticed, Jag had apologised for not highlighting it on the original video as he’d over looked it, which is understandable for where the scuff was located and said this would be sorted as they are waiting on the paint with it being a slightly non standard colour. (Honesty point number 2)

With the initial AA inspection their cars under go they’d highlighted an issue with the turbo on the car, this has now been fixed and re-inspected with a full pass. (Honesty point number 3)

Went up today to test drive the car before selling my current car (ready for collection on Saturday) the team and Jag were extremely welcoming upon arrival, the car was ready to go for a test drive and all relevant documents were ready to hand for my viewing.

Warranty and paint protection offered and explained really well no pushy sales just straight forward honest information which had given me the peace of mind that purchasing the car and the additional protections with them is the right thing for me to do!

So if your taking the step into buying a used car for the first time or with little background knowledge of buying a used car I’d hand down recommend Novara car sales and I Myself would happily return in the future to change or purchase another car!

Our experience of buying a car was first class, right from the first phone call to driving the car away. Alex the salesman was courteous, friendly and very professional. He wasn’t one of the ‘pushy’ types of salesmen you sometimes come across, he just advises when asked and gives help and advice when required.
The car we bought was a bargain and certainly not overpriced. Novara car sales is a genuine trustworthy business that I would definitely use again and would recommend to anyone who is after a hassle free car purchase. Five star.

I bought a used car from here and it looks, drives and feels new. Got great advice in the process and help with various aspects of getting the car back to where I live on the Isle of Man. Speedy work too, nothing was a problem.

Bought a car on the 29/11/25 from Novara Glossop.
From speaking to Alex on the phone to arrange a test drive, to taking the car home, the service from Alex was expectional.

Not very happy with the salesperson attitude whilst looking at a vehicle. Decided to buy it though and put down a deposit on the understanding some bodywork was rectified. When I checked to see if the vehicle was ready I got the " attitude " again from the salesman involved.Phoned again a couple of days later to ask again if the vehicle was ready and was accused of being " demanding " His attitude was appalling right the way through the proceedure. I ended up cancelling the sale and lost my deposit as well. If that's the kind of service you get goodness knows what would happen if there was a problem with the car later on ! The charm school lost a great candidate with this guy. Never again.

Went looking for a vehicle throughout the area, visiting Novara last as they were the nearest to my home. I found the staff really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, and the prices very competitive.
Purchased a vehicle as a result and they also put 12 months MOT on the car which was carried out quickly and efficiently.
Well worth a visit if you're looking for a car in the Glossop/ Tameside area
