I have been working on the beginning stages of a NACA approval for the past few months. Although there is a bit of information to fill out, I genuinely appreciate how thorough the process has been. And my counselor has done an amazing job with making sure that I understand what documents I need and how to fill them out. Not only does the program provide a great opportunity for first-time home ownership, it also does a great deal to make sure that people are not jumping into buying a home impulsively.

My NACA counselor, Dwayne, has been patient and helpful every step of the way through this process. NACA makes homebuying feasible in this ever-changing real estate market. Mrs. Barbara in the Columbia office is the BEST. She actually took her time to assist me. She didn't just point me in the direction I should go; she logged in and walked me through step by step. Oh, and let me not forget, she always was at her desk to answer that phone. I think God told her that I was calling.

NACA has been a great program so far. I’m still in the qualification process, and while it takes patience and organization, the support and guidance make it worth it.

I was really excited when I found out about the NACA program. I did my research and found it to be know for its impact and not for its speed. I have been going through the process about a year, only because at the beginning I worked at a certain salary and got laid off due to the company moving to Mexico. Even with that the process has gone smoothly. If you maintain your documents there are no excuses. My only caveat is that my realtor is so far away there are really no boots on the ground expect my own in my neighborhood/housing search. I would suggest getting someone who is local. They have where your realtor can get temporarily NACA certified so you can close. Overall it has been a decent experience for me, and I’m ready to find a property and close. I also absolutely love that they are stern on affordability, they are not going to put you in a house that you can’t afford to maintain. Don’t want to me house rich and cash poor.

Gives you a great understanding the underwriting process. And I have an understanding counselor who is patient and very accommodating.

This is my first experience with NACA. I did the online orientation and was paired with Ellen Petersen. She is professional, thorough, patient, and caring . Ms. Petersen helped me through the paperwork process with ease and understanding. She made herself available to me for any questions or obstacles I may have had. I am looking forward to purchasing my first home through the NACA program.
