I think the new way the national lottery prizes are a big disappointment a total rip-off lowering. All the smaller prizes it doesn't really seem worth doing anymore, unless you win the jackpot the other prizes have all been reduced by a great percentage think I will be putting my money on Irish lottery as better prizes

I do the lottery to win big. Please stop the £1 prize. 1.4 million £1 winners would be a proper win for one to ten people. It's meant to be life changing !

Since the Czech-owned company Allwyn took over, the National Lottery has been systematically gutted.

They recently launched a cynical "two-round draw" marketing spin, claiming to double your luck, but it is an absolute bait-and-switch. To fund their PR headlines, they have brutally slashed every single lower fixed prize tier.

Matching 2 balls used to get you a £2 Lucky Dip ticket - now it pays out a pathetic £1, meaning you win back less than the cost of the ticket itself. Match 3 balls has been slashed from £30 down to a joke of £10. Match 4 numbers has plummeted from £140 to just £50.

They are harvesting the prize money from everyday players to protect their own corporate profit margins.

It is nothing short of legalised fleecing, and because they hold a government monopoly, players are completely trapped.

At the same time, their funding to local good causes and charities has hit its lowest level in nearly a decade. Total corporate crooks. Avoid giving them a single penny of your money.

I am sad to say that I think the new lottery format is very dishonest. After playing from day one I’ll be leaving to do my lottery elsewhere. The joke that is the email informing you’ve won a £1 is a joke and an insult. Only writing a review now as I’ve just looked up prize money for tonight. People must be leaving by the thousands or the operator is skimming a huge profit - shame on them. Is this more corporate greed from an institution that was meant to help good causes?

Firstly lose the winning £1. It's ridiculous and depressing, you get an email saying you've won a prize and it's just £1. Utterly pointless. The old site format at least was straightforward to use. I find it confusing now, it's become unnecessarily complicated. I have no idea why they changed it when it worked perfectly OK before. It needs to be restored to what it was.

It all started with GOOD NEWS ******* your account has been updated with number ending in **** i thought thats not my number, wen't onto the web site account suspended, after 10 e-mails, web chat, 5 phone calls, they don't know how it happened, can't close the account its a case number, so still stuck i was just wondering if these are the same crowd that ran the Royal Mail for 20 years, the good thing is there was only £3 left in, nightmare company thought Camalot were bad'update got A.I. to draft a final demand seemed to work account closed.

The national lottery is an absolute joke, you’ve won a prize, you’ve won £1. Really!!!! Give me a break, this is pathetic, take your £1 and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I won’t be playing again, I’m so sick of this. Utter garbage

The national lottery is absolute rubbish, after a number of years doing a lucky dip for 4 weeks I'm out, spent my balance and won't waste my money on this joke again!

The national lottery App is a joke it is over complicated and extremely hard to understand much less use I’m frustrated with it and can’t be bothered it is a nonsense whoever designed it lacks any kind of common sense,I am thinking of closing my account and taking it elsewhere, More Smarty Less Malarkey or you will lose us the players

I play the National Lottery regularly and find its current prize notification emails increasingly irritating.

The email simply says that I have “won a prize”, requiring me to log into my account to discover what I have won. Repeatedly, the “prize” turns out to be £1.

There is no obvious reason why the amount cannot simply be stated in the email. Other lottery operators manage to do this perfectly well. At the very least, a £1 win could be described as a “small prize”.

Instead, the current wording gives the impression that these emails are being used as an engagement device to encourage customers to return to the website and log in, even when the amount won is trivial.

I have complained directly to the National Lottery about this. I am also clearly not alone, as many other customers have raised exactly the same issue.

If I have won £1, just tell me I have won £1. Don’t make me log in to find out.

The new prize breakdown is an insult. You got better prizes when lotto was first launched. Fortunately there are other lotto’s I can take a chance on instead

They are advertising cashback on entries to Saturday's lotto draw. I chose the 2 lines required and pressed continue, then the review dialog box came up asking me to review and buy, but the button to actually buy and enter the draw wasn't there. I think this is a SCAM, to get you to on the site but obviously they don't want too many people getting the cashback. If you can't trust the national lottery who can you trust.

It's time to stop paying my money into the National Lottery. I've been doing it since it began, thirty-two years ago, and always enjoyed it. Two & a half years ago, it was taken over by a new company, and they bug*ered it up. They tried to fob us off with 'you have more chances of winning', but the prizes have been reduced in value. I cannot be bothered logging in again, just to hear I've won £1! And as for the Powerball nonsense, do Allwyn think we're stupid? Firstly, whilst I'm happy to share the odds of Euromillions with Europeans, I'm not getting involved in an American game. And as winners only get paid over 30 years, why would anyone over 45 bother playing? Essentially, I no longer enjoy playing the National Lottery, so when my current tickets run out, I'm finished, and it's Allwyn Entertainment's fault. Best of luck...

I've played the on line instant win games for a couple of years .Once you never lost much or broke even .Now on average you have to spend £100 to win £5 .As the government take a big chunk of the profits its got 100 times worse under Labour .Every other online gaming company pay out 60 -70 % more than the National lottery .Also you have absolutely no chance of winning the grand prize .This lottery is ran like a Mafia big fixed earner

Really so unimpressed, got 3 numbers tonight with the old system you win £30. On a must be won day it doubled if nobody won the jackpot. Tonight with the 2 draw system I got 3 numbers in the first draw and won £10. Any one can work out that even if the prize money is halved because of the 2 draws it should have been £15. The jackpot was not won on the first draw but was on the second. It's a joke now.

Another outfit off gangsters. On the national lottery app slots especially the cash bolt £10 play. Never win and thats the truth. Last 2 days ive lost £150 and you get nothing. Is it any wonder Richard Bronson wanted too take it over, gangsters, hoods and thieves the national lottery is.

What a complete rip off,all those loyal players who have played it since it started had their chances of winning dashed by adding 10 more numbers,making the chances of matching 6 numbers 45,000,000 to 1 from 14,000,000 to 1,absolutely disgusting. So let's say most"picked" numbers are birthday numbers,their chances dropped straight away. To add to this they doubled the ticket price. A lot of the prizes are set,like the 5 numbers plus bonus ball set at 1,000,000. If people actually knew where their so called "good causes" money was going they definitely wouldn't play.just to top it off it is owned by a Czech billionaire.

It isn't exactly what went wrong this time! It's about how the lottery encourages people to think big but play small. That idea tells you that your chances of winning anything meaningful are next to nothing. It is also alleged elsewhere that lottery money is going to 'charities' that help illegal immigrants to 'get into the UK.
I think the pension fund that gets its money from the lottery is immoral. Who dares wins??? Money goes to money. The fact that this country is in such a terrible mess should draw attention to the main recipients - The Arts, yes they are important but why on earth don't we divert more money to GENUINE need of UK citizens? The UK is unable to support itself and here we have something sucking money away from those who need it most. I know, you don't have to gamble......
