I saw therapist called Kim McAllister Play Therapy and how I was treated left me taking the therapist to court where I was awarded £1000. I reported her to the NCPS as she wouldn’t provide details of her PVG check (Scottish background check) as required by law and NCPS rules. Despite a finding that she was not PVG checked which is a criminal
Offence and despite being treated so bad by the therapist that I have PTSD, they didn’t take any action against the therapist despite her actions being criminal in Scotland which is where she practices. Shocking cover up by the NCPS
Totally appalling. Complained about a therapist 3 months ago, a person i consulted as i stood in front of a cross road having to sell and move to release funds to live of. So she excitedly tells me i shoukd go to uni. How? She evidently did not hear i have no money! She constantly voiced her views, told me what i should do with my life, her view, no exploring what i might want; told me, for unknown reasons about a violent rape case in France, talked about her life and that of her family in detail at my expense and more. Oe morning i drove past a totally burned out house, still smoking, i arrived pretty shaken. No suport, no she went into gory details. And i am told there is no misconduct. I even forwarded an email in which she states that she was more relaxed in her ways because of Xmas. I started sessions in September/October, it started then. Certainly will stay clear of anybody registered with this organisation!
I wasn't expecting to be left out in the rain after speaking to one of the organisations members.
Ben Jearum his website: Lifetalks.net did just that for me, and although my health is improving and I found help elsewhere, I can't shake how I felt when I wanted to find help with my mental health and other fields (he declared he was qualified in) I open up to him (which I struggle to do normally) I asked him questions as to what the process will be going forward and what can we work on, though I could see on his face either he didn't know or already made up his mind that he didn't want to help me because I was too much perhaps I don't know... At the end of the meeting I felt something was up ..and then I get told in a blank almost lifeless email stating that he can't help me for depression, anxiety etc and that basically made me feel like I had offended him or that I was too much for him or something. If he didn't want to work with me or if he truly felt he could not meet what I wanted to work on then he could have called, its much more personal and genuine, instead of sending a basic email with little to no consideration of how it could make people feel or how it comes across.
After I paid £60 and really worked to get everything out, I get a list of talk therapies like Samaritans etc instead of any true professional help and made to feel like he wanted to have nothing to do with me. I email back in concern and apologised to him and I get nothing back. It doesn't make you feel human, like he just wanted to wash his hands of me after I thought I was giving him material so we could work through it for other sessions.
Real disappointment and made me feel like I shouldn't have opened up at all. I do not recommend for anyone trying to find support in their life, as from his email and vibe at the end it seemed he was a bit unwilling to work with someone he may deem too complex or a pain to work through.
Saying that although he has some qualifications and fancy membership stickers I do not think he has much experience in the field, which I think should be declared on the profile.
I would think it is vital to have experience and not just because they were once in a tough spot and now want to help others with the bit of training they have. But because they have the experience, full training and also eagerness to want to identify the areas that they could support with and I thought I gave Ben some good material.. For anyone stating they're fully qualified and devoted to what they do as a councillor should absolutely be true.
