If you’re going to donate, never do it with a debit card or by check. Use a credit card.

I made a donation through Zelle, and this “association” kept taking money from my Wells Fargo account like it was their personal ATM.

Even after I requested that the unauthorized charges be canceled, nothing was done. Neither the so-called organization stopped the charges, nor did Wells Fargo stop sending them money.

The only solution was to close both my checking and savings accounts.

I don’t mind donating.
What I do mind is being treated like a fool.

This “organization” does not answer phone calls. They only communicate by email, and when you write to cancel, they simply ignore you.

Be careful with scams.
It cost me nearly $400 to learn this lesson.

I am writing this as a warning to others.

I made what I honestly believed was a one-off donation and later discovered I was being charged every month. At no point did it feel clear that I was agreeing to a recurring payment.

I only noticed when I checked my bank statement, and then had to spend time contacting the charity; who have never responded to my email or answered the call. This feels like an exploitation of people’s nurturing human nature to help those who are less fortunate and in need.

Check everything very carefully before you donate, and keep an eye on your statements straight away. If you think you’ve made a single donation, make sure it hasn’t been turned into a subscription.

Scam site, they advertise on Facebook to get donations, but spending less % on charity.

I want to warn others about this donation platform because it uses what’s called a “dark pattern” - a design trick that pushes people into recurring payments. Even if you click the “One-time” option, the system still processes it as a monthly donation. I only realized this after seeing repeated charges on my account.

This feels very deceptive and unethical. If a platform hides recurring charges behind misleading design, it raises serious questions about the transparency of the organization itself. Please double-check your statements and cancel any unintended subscriptions if you used this site.

On their 2023 IRS return filing form 990, 46% of their total revenue/people’s donations were spent on advertising and promotion, while average advertising and promotion budget of a nonprofit organization is about 5%-15%. Only 13% were spent on medical where the money should go. Why?

I checked the IRS filings. This organization has raised over $9 million, but has spent only 10% on programs. Where has the rest gone? They should allocate 90% of their budget to programs and 10% to overhead. Something is not right.

It's a scam, don't donate. If you really wanna donate money, do it to a trustable foundation not straight to the founders their bank accounts.

So far I’ve found no proof that this is a scam. However, scamadvisor has a horrible reputation! I chose to donate a one time gift. After doing so, you receive a thank you with very graphic images of baby lily’s injuries. It’s beyond heartbreaking. The organization helps several children suffering from rare skin diseases, to help them with pain mgmt. I can’t begin to imagine the suffering of those children and the loved ones trying to care for them.

The advert on Facebook is extremely distressing of a young child in constant pain. I want to donate, but scamadvisor does not give a great rating ( 58 % due to redacted information ), can anyone advise?
