Ocean Nomads is much more than just sailing trips.

Besides the great adventures they organize, the network itself is really strong. As skipper of the sailing vessel Windfall I’ve met some amazing crew through Ocean Nomads, like minded people with a focus on healthy living and a real awareness for nature. Easy going, motivated and just a really good fit for life at sea.

It didn’t just help me find crew, but also brought me new friends along the way.

Definetly recommend if you’re looking for adventure and the right people to share it with.

I liked the fact that someone has taken the time to send me emails that inform me of opportunities. Sadly the emails don’t always have a link to take me to the opportunity that it’s promoting. This is rather frustrating, and consequently I miss the chance to benefit as I don’t know how to find the information on the website.

The trip itself was a perfect mix of adventure, hands-on learning and exploration. Whether it was enhancing my sailing skills, diving into sustainable marine practices, or building meaningful connections with like-minded individuals from around the world, every moment was enriching. The team at Ocean Nomads truly walks the talk—promoting an eco-conscious mindset while ensuring every participant feels supported in their journey of growth.

To me the community of Ocean Nomads is a very unique thing that has huge potential to change the world to a better place. Connecting likeminded, salty souls to help each other out, inspire and learn from each other. Beyond that, I've had the priviliedge to join three ocean nomads trips already, which have all been very meaningful and impactful to me in terms of sailing skills, making awesome friendships and connecting with mother nature.

We joined the ocean nomads meet-up this November in Greece. And even more than over the virtual network we found a great community live on board exploring the Greek islands. 11 days full of inspiration, ocean or nomad life related workshops held by members for members, hikes, workouts, vegan/vegetarian cooking sessions and lots of laughter together. 5 star recommendation for the organisation of the trip with nomads from all over the world (Australia to Austria and everything in between including Hawaii, South Africa, Ireland, and many more.). And 5 star recommendation for the spirit of learning from each other and helping each other to connect to make a positive impact this platform facilitates. BTW also an amazing new book out now by founder Suzanne Van der Veeken for everyone interested in travelling the world sustainably hitchhiking on sailing boats.
Definitely can recommend ocean nomads as a platform to connect to fellow ocean loving people connecting to make the world (not limited to the 71% being ocean) a better, cleaner, more sustainable and love-filled place.

I have been a member of Ocean Nomads for over 5 years. The community have been incredible over that time, very supportive and helpful.

I have gone from working on an environmental awareness yacht skipper, to sailing school instructor, running trips with ocean nomads members and now having my own yacht that is a part of the fleet.

In 2023 I got to meet Suzanne and some of the crew that crossed the Atlantic aboard Twister. It was so nice to see everyone in person!

I look forward to many more years of being a part of this lovely bunch of like minded ocean lovers!

Such a memorable 5 weeks onboard Twister with like-minded people who share the same values and passion for the ocean and the adventure! Travelling by sailboat from Amsterdam to the Canaries via Madeira has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget and recommend to anyone who is curious with exploring more conscious tourism and lifestyles.
I didnt think this could even be possible but Ocean Nomads made it happen, so THANK YOU!
