These people are the worst! Notice how every reply either says the person reviewing isn’t their customer OR BLAMES the customer for the awful experience they had?! We went with this company because we felt comfortable with the person on the phone. We were given a quote of almost $8,000. It was way more than we wanted to spend, my wife spent days working on trimming down our items; we got rid of ALL of our furniture except 2 bookshelves, a tv and our bed. Somehow, our cost still increased by thousands. Michelle in customer service is rude and condescending, the fact that she couldn’t answer a single question until she spoke to someone else first was frustrating to say the least. How is the only person a customer can speak to not qualified to answer any of their basic questions? Delivery was a disaster. A day before they arrived, the driver calls to say he couldn’t fit the truck in our neighborhood. How did they send a truck across the country and not check this first?! They wanted to charge us another $1100 to deliver our items. A nightmare experience. So we paid over $10k to have our bed, boxes, BROKEN TV, and BROKEN BOOKSHELF unloaded onto the street outside of our new neighborhood AND HAD TO PAY A LOCAL MOVING COMPANY TO FINISH OUR MOVE by walking our items 300-400 feet to our home bc OM VAN LINES LEFT OUR BELONGINGS ON THE STREET.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED, LIED TO, AND DISRESPECTED.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. My recent move with OM Van Lines was one of the most stressful and costly experiences I’ve had.

I received a binding estimate after providing a full room-by-room inventory and measurements. The company confirmed twice — including the day before pickup — that my shipment was still within the original estimate.

On moving day, the crew began loading without presenting any revised estimate. Only after the truck was fully loaded did the foreman provide a new “binding estimate” that was $2,000 higher than the original. I was told that if I did not sign and pay immediately, my belongings would be unloaded and left outside rather than brought back inside.

At delivery, I was charged an additional fee, and several items were damaged, including electronics, furniture, rugs, and household goods. Because I had to pay more than expected at pickup, I declined the optional insurance coverage.

I attempted to resolve these issues directly with the company, but they only offered small “goodwill” amounts that did not reflect the extra charges or damaged items. I ultimately filed formal complaints with state and federal agencies.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe consumers should be aware of this experience. Based on how my move was handled from start to finish, I cannot recommend OM Van Lines.

We were moving from New Jersey to Florida—our first big leap as a family. After weeks of research, OM Van Lines won us over with a polished salesman who promised “door-to-door carrier service” and a locked-in price. He had us film every room on FaceTime; we signed the same day. That signature was the most expensive mistake we’ve ever made.
Pickup Day
Three men arrived on time but reeking of last night’s whiskey. One bragged, “Man, I’m still seeing two of everything.” They laughed, dropped our mahogany dresser down the stairs, and shot me a death stare when I asked them to slow down. By the time the truck was loaded, the foreman slid a new invoice across the tailgate—exactly 2.1× the quote. “Pay now or we drive away with your life,” he said. We paid.
The Vanishing Act
Delivery window: 5–7 days.
Reality: 16 days of radio silence. Customer service went from “any minute now” to voicemail purgatory. When the truck finally backed in, it wasn’t even an OM Van Lines truck—just some unmarked rig with a different crew who had no idea what was ours.
The Damage Report
• Couch broken in two pieces
• Antique bar table: one leg snapped clean off
• Antique coin collection: gone forever
• Total claimed loss: $15,000. OM’s response: “File a claim.” Six weeks later—crickets.
We later discovered OM Van Lines is not a carrier; they’re a broker who auctions your move to the lowest bidder. Every promise they made was legally meaningless.
If you’re reading this while holding their quote, close the tab. Pay more, sleep at night, and arrive with your sanity—and your grandmother’s china—intact. We learned the hard way: a deal that sounds too good is usually a disaster in disguise.
Save yourself. Choose anyone else.

Nightmare!

I hired OM Van Lines to transport my belongings from Florida to Massachusetts, with the clear expectation that they would be delivered by October 1st or 2nd. At the time of booking, I made it explicitly clear that timely delivery was critical, and they assured me there would be no issues as the truck would come straight to me. However, once my items were loaded, I was informed that they had 21 days to deliver, a completely different timeline than what was initially promised. The situation worsened when I was told that the truck required maintenance, which delayed the departure by at least 7 days. To make matters worse, they insisted on payment through Zelle or cashier’s check at the time of delivery, and I paid the full amount. Upon arrival, they unexpectedly demanded an additional $150 for stairs, even though I had clearly communicated the circumstances in advance. I had already paid 3200.00 and he said if he didn’t get the 150.00, he wouldn’t unload. It was eventually rectified but still a debacle. We waited 19 days for the delivery, during which time I was caring for my special needs son. The staff were rude and unaccommodating throughout the entire ordeal. The price I was quoted initially was nearly doubled once the truck was loaded, and the entire experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. This company is one of the most disorganized and frustrating I've ever dealt with. They provided no apology or compensation for their mistakes, and I am extremely disappointed by their lack of accountability. Had I known from the outset that they could take up to 21 days, I would have either chosen another company or made the trip myself. If it were possible to give a -5 rating, I would. This is a cautionary tale for anyone considering their services. Avoid them at all costs.

Bait and switch! Avoid at all costs!

Now that I have arrived in Santa Fe and gathered my thoughts, I can safely say that OM Van Lines is absolutely, 100%, a bait and switch operation. They outright lie as well as lie by omission. My original quote was $4,200 to move a small one bedroom apartment from Suffern, NY to Santa Fe, NM. My final bill was over $7,000. That's a 65% above the original quote. You may think I made a mistake or didn't understand how much stuff I was moving, but you would be wrong. I sent them photos and dimensions of everything I wanted moved. That's how they arrived at their original quote! The only mistake I made was signing a contract with these manipulative, deceitful scammers. Their business survives only because they count on clients apathy once their items have been delivered. NOT THIS TIME! I have no misapprehensions that I will ever see a dime from these shysters but I can certainly share my experience. This company doesn't have the integrity to address this. When I complained, they were rude, threatening, and disrespectful, and didn't want to hear it. They actually tried to explain how difficult it was operating a moving company, and Santa Fe was REALLY far away. Well, as far as I know, Santa Fe didn't get further away from NY after they gave me the original quote. When they come to your home to pick up your stuff, they know they have you between a rock and a hard place and have no problem taking advantage of you. William, Charlee, Lisa Marie, are not nice people and the owner of this company should be ashamed of themselves. If I guy named Igor comes to your door to pick up your stuff, shut it immediately. You're about to be screwed. I'm preparing letters and evidence for attorneys general in NJ and FL and transportation authorities, TO START. I have much more to share but I'll let the investigators handle that.

The worst company DO NOT USE THEM!

The worst company DO NOT USE THEM!! Everything they advertise is a lie. They quote you a low price and when the truck loads your things the quotes doubles. I had an estimate of 2,999 my total was 6500. I arrived at my destination and my belongings are no where to be found. The people that pick up my belongings kept talking about how hung over they were and that their heads were still spinning as they are moving my things . Management does not care and refuses to talk to you. Save yourself the headache do not use them . This company should not be in business.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!


I unfortunately am living and learning the hard way. I hired this company for a pack and move from Central PA to Central OH. I worked with Frank T., who seemed like a decent human being trying to do right and provide a solid service, even quite considerate and friendly with what seemed like sincere concern for helping with our move. I was quoted at right at $10k to pack and move the belongings from our 3-story townhome and our storage unit.

I had expressed concern multiple times about the space and that I was worried it might not be enough. Frank reassured me multiple times, as recently as 3 days prior, that I was in good hands and that we were all set.

When the movers arrived (5 men) I was told pretty quickly that my amount would be more before we even fully loaded my storage unit, likely $15k based on volume. Of course this was irritating and an expensive increase, but we were partially loaded and I was just ready to get the move over with. After getting back to the house and continuing the load, they ended up having to go rent an additional U-haul to fit all the items and handed me a bill for $23k. Not only was that more than double the estimated cost, it was after 6 and there was no way to get a wire or anything set up. So I ended up having to wait until the next morning to be able to pay it (which mind you, I had paid before 8 am). I do want to say here though, the team of movers I had were fabulous. They were kind, efficient, thorough and hard working (the only positive of this experience).

The move occurred on Monday with the expectation of delivery on Wednesday. I see an email Tuesday in the afternoon with an urgent message that my payment hasn’t been received. I call and Michelle informs me that because they were expecting a wire transfer they didn’t see my $11k credit card payment. Mind you, I’m getting this “urgent email” 8 hours after the payment had already been made. But due to this delay, which was their fault, suddenly my delivery date gets moved to Friday-Saturday. In this time frame I had also disputed the charged amount and shared my displeasure to which nothing was done. Initially Michelle was professional and still kind in her emails, by the end of our interactions she was rude, hostile and honestly, negligent about my concerns. As a person who works in customer service, her demeanor was less than impressive. Although, I imagine she spends her entire day dealing with angry people based on their garbage business structure, so maybe she’s hanging on by a thread herself. But either way, a horrific service experience.

Yesterday I get notified that our delivery will take place on Friday between 12 and 5. Then at 11, Michelle calls to tell me they had a cancellation for a delivery and my truck can deliver at 3 pm. Seemed odd since I’m at least 7.5 hours from their location in NJ, but I was ready to be done with them so I agreed. We were at the new house ready for them at 3, the truck doesn’t arrive until 4:45, no communication at all from him, but a man shows up at the house who had received a last minute call from the driver that he needed some help on a delivery. They had posted a Craigslist ad for help! This “professional moving company” was seeking out strangers to come into my home and handle my things. Absolutely unacceptable. I called to talk to Michelle about this and was completely dismissed. The driver spoke broken English at best and the actual person with him spoke even less. I had to pay cash and he wanted it immediately before even opening the truck up. He was rude, standoffish and even recounted the money I counted right in front of him. The two men he hired basically off of Craigslist (who fortunately turned out to be very helpful) did 10x more work than the driver, and based on the loud argument at the end of my driveway, he didn’t pay them well either.

Not all of my stuff was rebuilt, boxes were damaged, there was 0 care with the items and helping them get to their proper home, and the unprofessionalism across the board was nauseating.

Not only do I feel bamboozled, I am out a tremendous amount of money that I hope I can fight back for, but what an awful, awful experience. Save yourself the pain, hassle, financial distress and horrible experience. Avoid this company at all costs. Their business practice is garbage and I can assure you, you deserve better.

Overcharged, items, dirty from storage,…

Aside from being overcharged for things that didn’t even get on the truck, but we’re on my list that cost me an extra $1500. And they say I had more on than I was supposed to. If you want to count the railings for a queen size bed, which I told them I had, two shelves that were inside an armoire which could’ve easily been put back inside, and I rolled up mattress pad that fit on the very top of everything that was originally stocked. Because of this, I was not able to put on a grill and an outdoor table which was originally included in the price.
Then let’s go on to storage, my items were to be placed in storage until I got to where I was at. When I received my items from storage, they were filthy and dirty. Now these were brand new $50 storage containers that I had bought. My mattress topper was loaded with ants. I would not recommend this company to clean my shoes. The people on the phone were rude,. I was also charged an extra $500 because they were afraid to bring the 18 wheeler down into the yard because they thought it would get stuck. So I had to pay an extra $500 for them to go get a smaller truck to bring it into my yard. I personally thought it would work but was told it wouldn’t. I would not recommend this company come hell or high water.

They lie - buyer beware

They lie. Plain and simple. It all started with Darrin W (sales guy). We agreed on dates for pick up and when I called to confirm the next morning, Lisa (manager) states that she has no idea where Darrin got the date, but she couldn’t accommodate for at least three weeks later. Then we reviewed the limited list of items. I measured and had dimensions of everything. Was told if that’s what they were loading, my binding agreement is what it would cost. The truck arrived for pickup and the driver told me they under estimated the space and if he was going to load, I had to agree to more $$. I had no choice, I needed the delivery because many other deliveries were dependent on the contents being delivered by OM Vanlines. Prior to the delivery I called and discussed with Michelle (customer support) how they charged me more when they picked up vs what i got for a quote. I discussed the contents with Darrin/Lisa and we listed everything that was being moved. I provided measurements of everything and nothing changed from when i signed contract to when they picked up at my Gloucester house, yet i was charged an additional $600+. Her response was you should not have let them load. Looking back, she is 100% right. All three company reps were rude . In the end they also lost an eight foot ladder!! There’s more but I think you get the picture. Moral of the story - do not under any circumstances use there services.

Avoid at all costs

Do not believe the positive reviews. These people are liars. I shared more than 25 photos and videos of my apartment and all contents with Alex Frost, their sales rep. And had numerous calls with him to ensure that there would be no surprises. He assured me that my move would not exceed $4420. And indicated that he even overestimated so that I would likely receive money back at the end. On moving day - after the truck was completely loaded with no turning back - Michelle increased the amount by 68% to more than $7400. I had to pay their cash ransom to recover my items. Plus the entire moving day was a nightmare from start to finish. I have filed a complaint with the Department of Transportation. They are thieves who routinely engage in consumer fraud with zero accountability. You are better off renting a UHaul and doing DIY.

Do not use this company - Bait and Switch

Do not use this company. They will do multiple video calls to make you feel comfortable about the quote, yet on the day of move they will bump up the cubic feet requirements astronomically. I was give 3 different quotes over video call that ranged from 1300 cubic feet to 1600 cubic feet. On the day of move I was charged for 2500 cubic feet. However, when my items were delivered the content only occupied 1200 cubic feet. Stay away from this company. I have an ongoing complaint with Better Business Bureau as well. But it seems the company knows how to navigate those hurdles at consumer's dissatisfaction and cheating. STAY AWAY!!! Do not let George or Michelle convince you otherwise that the online reviews are fake or that customer added lot of items last minute. I have a proof that shows my content was less than 1200 cubic feet. When I submitted that proof, I was offered $500 to settle without them admitting any wrongdoing while they had over charged me by $2500.

Highly Recommend - Small Interstate Move

After a lot of Internet research and various bids from both local and regional movers we selected OM Van Lines and are very happy and satisfied with our decision. Their price was very competitive but what really stood out was their service. They were helpful and professional throughout the process: pre-move (working with George) to ensure that all details were accounted for (including a two-part pickup at our house and the storage unit), move coordination with Michelle, and the actual move. The crew was careful and capable (handling some antique furniture with care), very efficient, and thorough with the business transaction paperwork. If ever we need a mover again, we will call OM! Thanks!

Left in Tears!!!

I booked OM Vanlines for a pickup for 3-31-25. Paid a deposit fee. Was given a pickup window between 12:00-3:00pm. At 11:00 am, the day of pickup, I received a phone call stating that, “ it did not fit in their schedule and they would have to cancel”. I asked about the following day and she said NO. I asked about the day after that and she said she’d call me back. I never heard back from her at all. Meanwhile, I called George Patterson crying and explained they canceled an hour before pick up and he said he’d check into it. An hour went by and I called him. He did not pick up. He texted, “ still working on it”. Another hour later and nothing. I called. He did not answer the phone or text. So, i waited a bit and I texted him again. He finally texted back, “ I’m waiting to hear back from operations”. Meanwhile, my son and I were frantically calling other movers. They all wanted double payment due to last minute booking. ( Thanks OM Vanlines for that!! ) I finally found another company who could do it in three days at double the price OM Vanlines and I had signed an agreement for.
Also, when I was speaking to the lady she said they had me down for a 5 piece sofa sectional. I told her no, it was an 8 piece and George knew because I originally told him it was a 6 piece, then corrected it to 8 and George went up in price for the 2 additional pieces. She insisted I was only paying for a 5 piece and the original price was now going to go up if I wanted to stay with them. Needless to say, I booked with someone else! I truly believe they wanted more money out of me other than what I signed an agreement for.
My advice would be to stay clear of OM Vanlines. They will leave you stranded and try to squeeze more money out of you!
Also, what reputable company calls an hour before pick up and tells you, “ it just doesn’t fit our schedule any longer?” And, the fact that he never spoke with me on the phone to resolve the issue, just a few texts is also very unprofessional in my opinion! Never got an apology or “I’m sorry” of any sort!
Please avoid this company. They will only leave you in tears or make you pay more money!

BEWARE!!

BEWARE!!! They contacted me constantly to get me to agree to hire them. We agreed on a price. Then two days before the move, they increased the cost. I tried to negotiate but at that point had little negotiating power. When the movers packed up 3/4 of my stuff onto the truck, they said the cost would be nearly double the original estimate. (They still wanted a tip!). Delivery was the ultimate fiasco though. I couldn’t get a day confirmed, even though they had plenty of notice and had my stuff for 2 weeks. The office called me at 10:15am to let me know they would deliver that night or the following day and said someone would call me 24 hours ahead to confirm. I waited and after a couple of calls, I received a text from the driver at 10:30pm telling me he doesn’t speak English and asking me to meet him or sending him directions (I moved into the state that day). After a couple of phone calls with the dispatcher saying that the driver could not get to me to deliver my items and the office person refusing to call me, the dispatcher decided, at 11:45pm to call it a night and said he would call me in the morning at 8:00am. He didn’t but the driver texted me again at 8:30am to meet him at a gas station. I ended up leading him to a cemetery to park the truck on the side of the road while he and my new landlord unloaded everything into my landlord’s trailer and made 3 trips of my belongings to my apartment. Then the driver tried to charge me more again!!! Additionally, every box that came off the truck marked fragile was seriously busted up and items inside were broken. WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Terrible experience with Om Van Lines

I had a terrible and awful experience with Om Van Lines. I worked George Patterson who did not provide me the correct estimated quote and I only ended up paying $1000 more towards the end of the move. They also damaged my stuff during the move and missed 2 of my suitcases. They delivered someone else's u-haul box at my place. I would not recommend this company to anyone else because they are greedy and their customer service agent, Michelle, is not helpful at all. Being in US for last 6 years, I never had such a bad customer experience. Despite contacting them for months, they never helped me out with the wrong charges at the point of loading. The loading guys show up and jack up the pricing saying the stuff would take more space. I read it in one of the reviews but ignored it and it ended up happening to me. Long story short, DO NOT hire them for moving.

I would not trust this company

I was helping my daughters move to another state and exploring the cost of using a moving company versus renting our own truck. I spoke with Alex Frost at OM Van Lines who on the plus side spent ample time with me to explain how things worked. At the end of the conversation I was undecided and he advised I put down a $50 refundable deposit to reserve the dates/truck, which I did. However, I decided to move myself and the next day texted Alex informing him of that and to please refund the deposit. Long story short, after a month of him giving excuses and promises, the refund did not occur. I told him after a month I would dispute the charge on my credit card (I now have), post my experience in reviews, and send a letter to the Better Business Bureau. I have a text stream that documents all of this.

Terrible terrible terrible company!

Terrible terrible terrible people!! I don’t even know how they’re still in business. They lie about their quotes just to lock you in, then once you’re up the creek without a paddle completely INFLATE costs. They don’t have their own moving company, a broker at best, they subcontract random people to do these moves while charging premium fees. Laughable. Very stressful and shocking experience with them that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. If you have anything valuable, transport them yourself or choose another company.
