No red letter, demanding and scary emails
The emails asked for the debt to be paid, but they offered alternatives to full payment and advice could be arranged for difficulties
Issues resolved thanks to Holly
This company has sent me an email 27th of June, for a debt originally owed to JD Williams, sold to Intrum Finance, and now they are supposedly acting on their behalf, even though they are part of the same company. This is a separate account and to a different email address to the one I posted about the other day.
A few issue with this contact are:
1. The debt in question is statute-barred, check these things before hounding people.
2. The only way to obtain any information apart from the tiny bit they provide is to login online (nope not doing that, do you think everyone is stupid)
As this debt is Statute Barred, remove all contact details for me from your systems.
Do not contact me requesting the removal of this review as I will not remove it nor will I respond to you.
Update: Ophelos have contacted me directly and this matter has now been returned to Intrum as Statute Barred. I have therefore increased my review to 4 stars from 1. To be fair to Ophelos, unlike some companies out there, these do appear to work with you to resolve issues.

Scam! I've been receiving texts stating I owe money to Lloyds TSB, I've never had an account or loan with them! I will be reporting to FCA and ICO.

I started to get messages from them…
I started to get messages from them since last week with log in details to pay for Loan from Barclays that I apparently took on 2012, I don’t have Barclays account and never took any loan from them! I am calling the police and fraud department today because I had enough of them distributing me and stressing me even more while I am struggling with depression, to me this company is a scam or have no ideas of what they are doing! Soon you log in the only option they give you is to make the payment, I am not stupid and will not pay for something that isn’t mine obligation to pay, find the person who did or get lost!

Terrible, unable to speak a human and continued to take unauthorised payments although I had paid the balance off in full through the original company. Recommend everyone to ignore any contact they receive from this company.

Received letter this morning claiming I have unpaid debt from Clearpay, for gift cards I’m supposed to have purchased back in April 25.
I do not have a Clearpay account and have never made any purchases from them.
I have report this to Action Fraud, the have given me a crime number

Same as other reviewers, out of the blue text claiming I owe money from an unpaid Orange debt. Never ever had an Orange Account, mobile or anything so good luck with getting a penny from me - scammers!!!!

Was late paying Octopus and was bombarded by texts, calls and emails. Despite asking them to STOP contacting me, they continue. They LOVE harassing disabled people and the elderly on fixed incomes. Ill be getting legal advice for harassment.

They didn’t identify themselves as Octopus energy, I thought it was a scam
I moved house and moved Octopus energy with me, assuming my direct debits would continue. Little did I know they cancelled my direct debit and forwarded me onto these guys as “debt collection” with no warning
I set up my new account with octopus energy and increased my spending
You’d think octopus energy wouldn’t me know direct debits were cancelled
And you’d think Ophelos would reach out via phone or email to explain the “debt” which isn’t a debt. It’s poor planning on both companies behalves
And guess what it’s was less than a months worth of monthly bills which affected my credit score
Really really poor, I will escalate

Just some company who have bought un collectible old debt. Some of the reviews here look odd to say the least, one woman’s left three 5* ratings to here 🙄

Received a text out of the blue…
Received a text out of the blue regarding a £12k debt I "apparently" owe - I want to know who gave them my number as I'm very careful about who has it - so no doubt someone has sold them my information. I'm looking at litigation to find out who sold me out and gave them my personal number as it's not listed anywhere publicly. Heads will roll on this due to GDPR breaches.
