My beautiful Chinese rug was stained, discoloured and had a section which was moth eaten.
The ORRC collected my rug and when it was returned, it was like new. The moth eaten section had been repaired, the stains had been removed and the colours were vibrant once again. It was an amazing transformation.
I cannot praise the company highly enough for the work they did.

My grandmother had a very large and speacilist Chinese carpet that had been in her living room for around 50years. She was relocating and required extensive resizing and repairs. The ORRC were fantastic from start to finish and really took the time to understand the requirements and ensure it was done to the upmost standard. They collected and delivered the carpet to the new address and were great in keeping us updated throughout the restoration. I cannot praise them enough!

Great delivery, helped to put the rug back in place, professional and friendly.

Good service, gave an accurate ETA and the repair was done professionally. Will be using again!

ORRC have cleaned my Chinese carpet very well. It has come back soft, clean and, hopefully, moth proofed. My only issue has been disappointing communication. Very difficult to speak to anybody if you phone. It always goes to voicemail or somebody who says someone else will ring you back. I was initially told up to 5 weeks for washing only (no repair required). The van driver who collected told me he thought 2 to 3 weeks. I got it back yesterday after 8 weeks (would have been 7 but we were away). I guess you just need to be patient as the results were worth it.

The quality of their restoration work is superb. ORRC have worked on two antique Oriental rugs which were family heirlooms. One was in a particularly sorry state and they brought it back to life. They also have extensive knowledge of rugs, where they were made and their age.

An Afghan carpet, with a fold through water damage contraction from over 40 years ago, which we had always been told could not be fixed.
The guys from ORRC collected it, washed it, and then spent over 2 months stretching it. The result: a large rectangular carpet which looks fantastic, no fold, no contraction. I am so pleased!
Also, communication both by the folks who collected and returned it as well as the folks in London was brilliant.
It wasn't cheap but I am so pleased with the end result!

** UPDATE 25/3/25**
I just want to say thanks to Bryan for getting in touch and sending me pictures to update on the progress of the rug. It is looking fantastic, ORRC have really done a great job. All I wanted was an update and some communication which I have now had so I have amended to 4 stars.

All I would say to management moving forward is that communication really is key - even a monthly automated email to say we haven’t forgotten about you and are still working on your rug would go a long way.

I am looking forward to seeing the finished results. Thanks again for putting my mind at ease!

ORRC have had our rug since July 2024. Granted it’s a very large rug and it wasn’t in the best condition but it’s now gone from an 8 week timescale to being with them 8 months. Had I known it would take this long I wouldn’t have agreed to the repairs.

Communication has been poor with me having to chase and wait weeks or months for a response. I was promised photos of progress and regular updates which hasn’t happened. When Paul called to discuss the rug in September the wrong rug was attached to the file it was a red rug which wasn’t ours. I am now left worrying if the rug has been lost and I’m being fobbed off as I have asked for the promised photographs and have had no response from Keith since January.

I don’t think I have been unreasonable, I have been pretty patient as I understand this can take time and is being done by hand but 8 months is a long time especially when you haven’t had the service promised and advertised, it’s pretty poor customer service, which is such a shame for a company that say they pride themselves on quality. I would love to give 5 stars but based on the service so far it’s not possible.

I reached out online with a picture of my very damaged rug, the company called back and said they could do something. Everything was done by phone or email and they came and collected the rug and kept me informed of the cleaning and repair process. Both pick up and drop off appointments were on time and easy to organize. The rug went from unusable to beautiful. Thank you

Our well loved silk rug had become quite dirty, stained and also faded. It was the result of about 15 years of sunlight, messy children and adults and general wear and tear.
We were moving house and once all the furniture (that had partially covered the rug) had been removed it looked in a rather sorry state.
After contacting the ORRC they promptly collected it to work their magic.
We opted to have the rug both cleaned and restored. It was a great decision as the returned rug looks virtually brand new.
It feels soft and clean with the colours looking warm and lovely.
The cleaning and restoration process took almost 4 months, which was possibly longer than I had expected and I would advise being aware of this timescale beforehand.
I had a number of communications with the company both by email and telephone. Everyone was always extremely helpful and polite.
The finished result is beautiful.

The ORRC did an excellent job cleaning and repairing our fifty year old chinese rug. It was returned to us looking like new. We were given good advice as to our options and an accurate price estimation. Collection and return of the rug was efficient and on time. Well done ORRC !!!

The Oriental Rug Repair Co. is professional, trustworthy, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was very impressed from the start. In 1993, I fell in love with my beautiful silk and cotton Kashmir rug on a visit to Southern India to celebrate my late husband's retirement from his Veterinary Practice. It was his gift to me. Sadly, various cleaners, with their vacuums, removed the tassels. Then, family, visitors, dogs, cats etc made their mark. But when widowed, I moved alone from the family home to an apartment, I had to take my rug because it represented so many happy years. I was urged to buy a new one, but I found the ORR Co. After several months, it is now beautifully restored and in pride of place. It is a family heirloom, of which I am custodian. Thank you so much. You have made this 80 year old very happy.

First used them about 10 years ago, when they did a great job with some antique rugs which had had some moth damage in storage and came back looking new. This time I used them to clean and repair 2 more -- wonderful result. They really do know everything about carpets and they don't cut corners.

I truly did not think it was possible to dye an area where my darling, old, incontinent kitty left a large patch on my large Chinese superwash rug.
But ORRC was just fantastic! Carpet was picked up then delivered and now I can not even find where that patch was!
Tony the manager and Robert the driver went out of their way to do everything possible to get this rug, then subsequently 2 others to clean and deliver with the minimum fuss and delay.
Though I hope our kitty will not do it again, now I know where to come for help. I recommend this company without reservations and wish them all the best for 2024. Thank you Tony and Robert!!
