Thank you Oxfam Morningside!
My daughter purchased a vinyl record at the Morningside store Edinburgh. The staff were absolutely charming, knowledgeable and could have been more helpful.
Thank you for going above and beyond, it is hugely appreciated!
Poor customer service.
Offered to buy an expensive book on their online website. Attempt to make a query over the cost. Been two weeks and no reply to my email?
Realise pandemic obviously has an effect but surely a curtesy email would be appropriate. Spent hundreds pounds in the past now I am wondering if my money is better placed elsewhere.
Skip the Blackheath shop !!
I have donated regularly to this shop for years. After my last donation I received an email to say it had raised almost £800.
I took another donation up last Saturday morning, nobody there to receive it and signs on the door emphatic that anything left outside would be destroyed and not accepted.
I returned this afternoon and was informed that they don’t accept donations after 3:00pm.
There are a plethora of charity shops just down the road in Lewisham that will happily accept anything you have to offer — I’d recommend any of these over Oxfam.
Easy, reliable and good for the environment
I think oxfam online is great. The descriptions are always accurate. The parcels arriving timely (although in different packages due to the nature of the shop). The clothes are are clean. Returns are easy and quick and no trouble at all. The website is a little slow sometimes. My only quibble is that I wish you could return items to your nearest oxfam. But overall, great experience and good god the environment.
My favorite place to shop for books
My favorite place to shop for books and collectibles, knowing that at the same time I make a difference. Efficient and helpful customer service.
The Oxfam online shop is a great idea
The Oxfam online shop is as good as as others have said, the service and speed of sending the items is first class. The items are very good quality and I buy a lot of my stuff here now. Yes the only two "designer" items I ever ordered turned out to be fakes, but i knew the risk buying unseen and though I paid a bit too much, I put it down to a donation to a worthy cause.
Customer Service Non Existent.
As a Brit I’ve had a tendency to support Oxfam at every opportunity(not so much nowadays as it’s not quite so charitable as it may seem). I donate good quality goods and have made pre loved purchases to combat the demand for more new consumer goods(love to recycle).
My experience with the local Oxfam shops prior to my local Oxfam has been favourable and perfect(great pleasant staff and volunteers) but my local one is let down by the most grumpy and miserable* mature lady imaginable(think she’s the manager too, unfortunately). No acknowledgement for donations and purchases at all(zero void communication). If I so much approach her she is abrupt and rude. It’s so bad that I refuse to donate nor make any future purchases from this specific local store altogether. Not a great advertisement for Oxfam at all. The store will remain anonymous to protect Oxfam’s fragile reputation.
Oxfam Headquarters need to hire some sort of quality control in the form of secret shoppers to all it’s stores. The local Oxfam has lost me as a once loyal customer and avid donator. Not good, Oxfam U.K. :(
* What she doing there? Obviously in the wrong place, employment wise. Having worked within the public sector / service for most of my life I have made the most of the opportunities hence I have nothing but positive employment memories. She’s in the wrong job.
Excellent service from the on line…
Excellent service from the on line shop.... First time I have used but will buy from again.
Amazing shop!
An amazing, good quality branch of shops full of handy and great products ranging from clothes to toiletries to household & garden items. Fully recommend oxfam! :) & after all its all for a good cause!
The online shop is great
The online shop is great - I love being able to buy quality goods I couldn't afford new, and know it's helping find work benefiting some of the world's poorest people. And yes, I've seen some of Oxfam's work overseas, and it is genuinely helping the poor.
Oxfam ripping off donors
I am writing because I do believe that the Oxfam Store in Richmond (TW9 1BP) is ripping off donors.
I have been a member of the Tag Your Bag scheme for many years now and I have reason to believe that my donations have not been processed ‘fairly’.
I have already raised concerns about this issue few years ago.
I have donated hundreds and hundreds of items, worth several hundreds of pounds, and these includes technology and electrical goods; clothing and fashion accessories; home textiles, linen, soft furnishing, decorative objects, accessories; books, CDs, DVDs, toys.
Most of the items I have donated so far were unused, brand new, still with the original label, while the used ones clean and in excellent conditions.
Oxfam does not offer a ‘tracking system’ or a something like a ‘donation statement’ where donors can check the transactions or the status of donation, if the items have been sold, etc.
They are supposed to send me from time to time statements by email to let me know how much you have raised from the sale of my items.
They never send me the statements. I have been a member of the Tag Your Bag scheme for more than 6 years, I received a statement only once. Only one in 6 years!
So the only way I can keep record of my donations is thanks to the Nectar transactions, and it is with my great surprise that for more than year I could see only a few Oxfam transactions, by far too little considering the amount, the quality and the value of the items I have donated so far.
Without an adequate explanation I have to guess that only the Oxfam Store employees are taking advantage of my donations ‘privately’ or the Oxfam Tag Your Bag scheme is not working properly (’strategically’), and Oxfam is failing to declare the REAL donations received to ‘unfairly’ squeeze cash from donors and potential donors.
Had already sold the item offered online
Extremely poor stock management as they had already sold the item I'd purchased online.
Took them 3 days to contact me to tell me, however, refunded quickly.
Sad to say I could not recommend the online shop.
Very happy with service
I often go on the website which is easy to use. Items are always good quality and postage is fast
Excellent, with superb customer service!
What makes me continue using a company? Superb Customer service and, naturally, the products on sale.
Oxfam charges a standard delivery for as many items as you want, with some higher valued goods sent by courier, at extra charge. Returns are free. Donations, always acceptable.
As it sells donated items, there is always something new and interesting to see (and buy in my case!.)
I have been using them for years, without any problems and they deserve positive recognition.
They also put a good few of the larger companies to shame, with their customer service....
House of Fraser, Marks and Spencer outlet, ecco shoes, Oxford, Speedo.
Are you reading? Look and learn! Because I wouldn't buy from any of you again, even if you paid me!
first class!
Absolutely love shopping with Oxfam online, why spend more? thousands of clothes to choose from, excellent search facility and free delivery and returns, (unless you want to make a charitable contribution towards them) delivery is 2nd class so items can take a week to arrive, sometimes quicker/longer. have recommended them to as many people as I can!
