Female Cyclist Annoyance and Disappointment
As a female cyclist, my recent experience with Partridge Cycles wasn’t great! I felt very uncomfortable and awkward when visiting the store to look at a Liv bike I was planning to purchase, on two occasions.
The Sales Assistant, Lucas, new to the store of 2 weeks, was extremely obliging and helpful, despite his limited knowledge of bike fitting. He was keen to assist, indicating he wished to learn this aspect of the store business for his own benefit.
To be told there’s only one minute to go before the store closes and you’re spending over £2k on a road bike, indicates the store isn’t customer focused, when Lucas was making small changes/additions to the bike. To have 5 men, young and mature, overlooking the purchase without providing a new Sales Assistant with help and guidance, is appalling. I suggested someone else gave Lucas a hand, as I was feeling awkward by this stage and was keen to exit the store in haste.
Come on Guys, put yourselves in the position of female cyclists, reassure new customers, and offer a knowledgeable and friendly service to ALL. You appeared bored and eager to leave the Store at the end of the Day, that isn’t Customer Service in my book.

1st Maintenance Service.
We took our two electric bikes in for their 1st free service. There were a few minor problems that needed sorting. All were corrected and assistant Henry was very helpful.
First class service
My free hub went on my electric Giant mountain bike on Monday, 5 days before my planned all day ride on the Quantocks. I rang Alex at Partridges who told me to drop it in and they would do their best. Within 48 hours it was fixed and the price was good. The service I received was first class and another example of why I by and shop local. Well done Partridge Cycles.

Bought three bikes this year and all three have had to go back for various warranty/ poor PDI issues, after sales/workshop absolutely appalling, had to return my lads bike three times and still same fault, (back wheel bearings) bike still under warranty but taken it to an independent as I wouldn’t trust them, “it’s a non electric bike” it’s not rocket science, workshop needs a shake up, if I was the workshop manager I’d be embarrassed,l…….
A large, jolly group of cyclists
A large group of us cyclists came to the cafe this morning. Karon and Wendy were wonderful to us - we are a confusing and loud ‘bunch’ of friends but they were quick and efficient and amazingly welcoming considering we are such a challenging group.
Thank you so much. You didn’t seem at all flustered by our numbers and joviality 😀. Everything was spot-on.

Called into the store today to get two very small parts, service I received was 2nd to none scout and Jon were so helpful Considering what I wanted was quite insignificant but nothing was a problem

Partridge cycles rip me off at Christmas sold me a 2015 model bike for £1500 it came scratch to hell when I tried giving it back they said they were skint absolute jokers the bikes not worth half that robbing rats

Bought an electric bike from Partridge
Bought an electric bike from Partridge, and Roger on the shop floor was very informative and helpful about allaspects of the bike. I purchased the bike and am delighted with it, but unfortunately 5 days later a thorn went into the back tyre and punctured it! I had a tiny issue after the first few days of the gears slipping slightly so I thought I might as well take the whole bike back to them to fix it. We were dealt with by John, who again was very helpful and went the extra mile by squeezing me in so they could repair two other wheels from different bikes I own whilst I was there. The bike is working perfectly now and I am I have found Partridge Cycles a pleasure to deal with - Highly recommended!

Partridge Cycles went above and beyond to ensure that I purchased the right bike to suit my needs. The salesman, Peter, provided an excellent service and I can't thank him enough.
ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BUYING A BIKE HERE
I purchased an electric bike in July 2020 and after approx a month the bike was not performing as it should. I contacted Partridge who were very unhelpful and after going round in circles Alex advised us to bring the bike back and they would look at it.
The bike was duly returned and they found nothing wrong with it but it was stil not performing as per the Bosch and Raleigh website, Partridge blamed the performance on the way I rode the bike. I have had a fold up electric bike for 3years, so feel fairly confident I know how to ride an electric bike. After further discussions Alex advised us to again return the bike for some advise on how to ride it.
He insisted we took it back when he was working so he could be party to any conversation. This was inconvenient as we live in Plymouth, however we returned the bike when Alex was there.
When we got to the shop at the time agreed with Alex, he fobbed us off to another man which was extremely discourteous and did not take any part in this discussion. The man did nothing with the bike, he gave me no advise regarding improving the performance of the bike but kept insisting it was the way I rode it. How many ways are there to ride a bike?? The whole trip was a complete waste of time, Alex refused pointblank to do anything further so we contacted Raleigh direct and took it up with them.
Raleigh courieriered the bike back to their workshop in Nottingham immediately and agreed the bike as not performing as it should. With a lot of communication and understanding the problem has been resolved and bought to a satisfactory conclusion. Raleigh are aware of the shocking service Partridge offer, not just my opinion looking at other reviews!
Good luck if you choose to purchase from Partridge, after sales service does not figure in the philosophy. I believe as a family run concern they feel they can treat their customers in any way they wish. I would never return to their store and would strongly recommend others to purchase elsewhere.
