The pros: I arrived and returned safely.

The cons: I ultimately had to find my own accommodations due to several significant missteps:

I requested a ceiling price for hotel accommodations but was sent options nearly double my stated limit.

I was told the hotel would hold $100 for the duration of my stay, but upon arrival, I was informed it was $150 per night—a major difference in budgeting.

After notifying the agent, I was told to expect a follow-up email to help improve the remainder of my trip. That email never arrived.

When I was ready to book ground transportation, the price had nearly doubled from the initial quote. While I understand rates fluctuate, the agent sent the new booking without acknowledging or explaining the increase. Only after I questioned it did she offer a small discount.

I initially expressed interest in the Four Seasons Paris. The second quote I received was over $8,000 for four nights—almost triple the first quote. When I raised the issue, the response was surprise rather than acknowledgment or proactive communication.

The ground transportation that was arranged required me to locate the driver in a large, unfamiliar parking garage. It took 45 minutes to connect because the driver made no effort to find me.

Since my return, I have not received a single follow-up or courtesy check-in from the agency.

For context, I’ve traveled internationally for over 35 years and typically book luxury accommodations through agencies such as Virtuoso. This time, I chose to support a local Black-owned agency and work within a tighter budget. Unfortunately, this experience reinforced an old saying: you get what you pay for.

The process was smooth to talk to someone, and Nakeba was so helpful and reassuring!

She was very down to earth and was able to walk me through the process. She bared with me although I had expressed not really being a planner and really relying on their support for this Surprise trip for my wife. The process has been smooth thus far and I’m excited to be writing another review post the trip.

I am hear to say, I had the most amazing experience going on a solo trip to Cancun! For my birthday ! And I will use this travel agent! 5-Day Vacation Review in Cartagena

First time in Tulum, and I had so much fun. The schedule was well planned, and I never felt the need to rush. Nakeba did an amazing job with this trip. To have everything planned for you is always a luxury. Nakeba provided constant communication day or night. The added bonus of having an itinerary to review before the trip was amazing. I knew what to expect from the places we visited. The scheduled itinerary was just enough to have fun and to relax. The level of expertise Nakeba displayed is unmatched in a travel agent. Nakeba provided due dates and made sure to send reminders. Before we checked into the hotel Nakeba reminded us to ask about the promotions included in our bookings. To experience this type of care from a travel agent is something new. She has become my personal travel agent and I share her information with everyone. Passport Poppin is the way to go.

This past trip with Nakeba as my agent was extremely copacetic. I got to spent with with my best friends and my chosen family. And I'm fortunate to have chosen the right group to travel with.

The only gripe I had, was with the resort. Said resort was unfortunately lacking at-in located emergency services.

I've stayed at other resorts where the on staff medical team was fully equipped and eager to help in any way possible. This was not the case.

I pray no one else goes through what we went through but for those with allergies, make sure to bring antihistamines and an Epi-Pen.

The apt confined food outside my allergies was Chef's Kiss.

The service was great. Music was good. And the resort and it's vicinity had plenty of things to do.

***Note to future travelers, there are families at the resort so be mindful if that if you're looking for an adult only resort.***

My experience with Passport Poppin was more than exceptional!! As someone who hasn’t traveled a lot, especially out of the county, Nakeba made the whole process easy and efficient! The whole itinerary and payment deadlines were clear and concise! She went above and beyond to check in with the whole group, and always answered any questions I had! Super helpful and organized!!
