Really daft and discriminatory questionnaire upon making an enquiry for a family returning from overseas!
Attempted to make an enquiry on behalf of a family returning to the UK with a son attending University. Paxtons compelled me to undergo a full credit check, give my personal details, would not accept phone calls. My personal details and credit history are totally irrelevant.
Paxtons appear unable to encompass the fact that not all enquiries about a property are made by the individuals concerned, an just go ahead and put the enquirer through a detailed questionnaire, nevertheless! I had to verify that my income was £33,000. They insist that any child over 18 years must be in employment. This is discrimination. It rules out children attending university/higher education, those with learning difficulties, sight loss, hearing loss, and so on.
Surely, credit checks are initiated AFTER the property has been seen, and the applicants have advised that they wish to rent and not applied to every single enquiry, no matter what the enquirer is wishing to know. This really is quite absurd.
Probably best avoided given that mindset, and there is potential for a really bumpy ride for applicants given the negative attitude of this agent. I have advised them of this experience and suggested that they should look elsewhere.
I could not believe what I was seeing. How arrogant and how daft.
