PayCosmos Approved Our Account, Then Closed It Without Cause – Beware
Our business was approved for a merchant account with PayCosmos (a DBA of Linked2Pay) on September 25, 2025. We received full credentials — including access to their CRM, dispute portal, and the VAR sheet from the processor containing live API credentials. This was not a “pending” approval; it was a fully established merchant account.
From day one, the setup was incorrect. PayCosmos entered the wrong industry code and continually delayed fixing it. Despite multiple assurances that the system update was in progress, they provided little to no communication or support.
Finally, around 10:00 AM on the morning of closure, they told us they had updated the industry code — only to close our account an hour later, claiming it was because our checking account balance was too low ($66). The reason is unreasonable, considering we couldn’t process or deposit funds due to their setup errors.
This behavior appears systemic — approving merchant accounts only to shut them down days later without justification. Businesses depend on reliable payment processing, and this kind of operation can cause real financial harm.
Merchants beware: our experience suggests this is not an isolated incident.
