Shocking.
On 25/07 I dropped my Ford ranger off for noise believing it was a wheel bearing. pertwees rang confirming it was front near side and offered two alternatives. Firstly replace the bearing to its original as it left the factory or do a Ford recommended replacement with other components at of course extra cost. They had ordered in the bearing and was assured it would be as it left the factory. I am the company driver of the vehicle and was surprised when they rang and said the noise was still there and needed more work on near side front bearing. We were charged and payed-for what? Now, here is the follow up from TC Harrison Peterborough. It is not front near side or indeed front axle, it is rear axle replacement. How can they get it so wrong? See attached -Investigate wheel bearing noise, noise is coming from O/S/R wheel, suspect rear axle bearing worn, suspect requires new rear Investigate wheel bearing noise, noise is coming from O/S/R wheel, suspect rear axle bearing worn, suspect requires new rear axle
Come on Pertwee’s refund the company, you carried out unnecessary work nd didn’t fix it.
I posted before and took it down pending further diagnosis but now am shocked you could do this.
