Good price , wood is rather wet though so you need to dry it as the shrinkage is pretty great if your using it to build anything structural. Besides that great company Def buy from them again

Outstanding Experience from start to finish on my first order. I’m blown away by the website and online ordering process for a small business, it’s what I’d expect to see from a mainstream supplier and that alone is a reason to use Philip Jones Timber. Then you get onto the range of products which is endless and I feel as full as the website is, even more is there to be had at the yard, it would be great to see more ‘consumables’ on the website although that is no easy feat. Then you move onto the quality, which is second to none. The delivery was seamless and the driver friendly, helpful and also managed to keep to a specified time. Then after all this, the price, truly unbeatable from what I’ve seen and had in the past, it’s a shame more people don’t know this business is there because it would wipe the floor out of the market. Second order is now in.

Doing a job 200 miles from home, I was a fish out of water. I had no clue who the local merchants were, the quality of the product and pricing.

Philip Jones Timber came as a recommendation and it's one I'm glad I was given.

The service from picking up the phone and getting a quote through to placing the order and delivery was top notch. I left ordering a bit late but they were able to get me a delivery in two days (and offered next day!). Delivery charge was reasonable.

The range of timber available is brilliant. There are not many places that sell motorway rails and 4*3 posts! Pricing is very competitive and the quality of the product A++. In an order of 320 feather edge boards only 2 were rejects - that's not just good, it's not normal! Usually I'd expect to put up with 2-5%! The 8x1 was exceptional quality and none of the 2x1 had catastrophic knots.

The chap delivering was super helpful, helped unload and had good chat.

All in all, a great experience. A shame you don't service London, you'd kill the competition!

We've been ordering from Philip Jones Timber for a while. Quality and price of product is fab. The staff go above and beyond. One delivery driver even helped me carry nets of logs up a massive hill (it was snowing and the van couldn't get to the top). Brilliant service all round 🙌
