I have a broken storm window from a piece of wood that shot out of my mower while mowing a lawn for a customer. I simply sought an estimate for a replacement storm window went through the invasive process to enter all of my information the customer address and the required Email address with the disclosure that I agree to all of the auto dialed and email spam they wish to send me ( required emails don't constitute an agreement it's forced and i should have stopped right there). Before I ever get a quote I receive a call and a text! In the background if the call there is such a commotion that I cannot hear as though my caller is calling from McDonald's play place! I can't hear him he can't hear me. I repeat 3x that I am only seeking a quote for a customers window! The guy says is there a time tomorrow you can meet with our professional installers to go over the project? I asked "Do I need to be there for a quote on a storm window?" To which he replies yes! I reluctantly choose a 10am appointment time. He goes through more of his spiel which I can hear bits and pieces of and I say as much which he apologizes for the commotion! He then asks me if I can be there with all homeowners or decision makers indicating he had not heard a single thing I said! I said "No I'm simply seeking a quote to replace a broken storm window for a customer!" He then says "oh in that case we cannot provide an estimate because we need the homeowners present!!" You don't say? Now I can expect spam and phone calls for six months from a host of different companies which I neither need or want! Oh and it had brought me to a question with a list of home improvement services I may require assistance with which listed a bunch of options and no way to say no there are none! Not only do these people NOT care what you are seeking assistance for, they are all too happy to shuffle you through this cookie cutter nonsense farm and sell as much of your information as they can get and completely waste your time! In the age we live in this is how Buisnesses monetize their customers, rather than providing me a simple estimate they wasted 45 mins of my evening which doesn't include the time to write this well deserved review! To companies who want to streamline your incoming call operations by getting right back to your leads, this type of help will lose you business moving forward you lost this business for certain! Peoples time is valuable so perhaps you may speak to whomever fields you incoming service requests and let them know that this is not acceptable!

Like most other users have posted this is a lead generation site. All they do is take your request and try to sell the lead to the actual service providers in your area. Do not waste your time. Just dig a little deeper and find the actual contractors that perform the work you need and contact them directly.

When I questioned their Fake avartisme he hung up on me.

Total scam!!! My "quick estimate" could not be fulfilled and I immediately received a call from Leaf Filter which has no significance to my service request.

DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAM LIKE I DID. Not a real company. It says it will direct you to other contractors in the area which sends you to call centers to help you find a contractor.

I should have done better research. I'm usually pretty good about avoiding phishing sites but they got me. Damn, knew I should have used a different phone number.

I did a search for gutter repair in my area and ended up with multiple phone calls for days about windows and doors. This is not a real construction company. They give out your phone number to other companies that call every day. I had to block over a dozen phone numbers.

I used Powell and Sons website form to request an estimate, and man am I sorry I did! If you come across them, do NOT give them your information. Never heard from them, but they sold my information to LeafGuard and LeafFilter, who have harassed me almost daily by text and phone calls. I was never even in the market for their product. Beware of both of these companies. I'm filing a complaint with the FCC.

Scam website - they post your info on Angi and you can’t get the phone calls to stop

SCAM - They sold my data to ANGI. I requested lasnscaping and got many calls from ANGI contractors about landscaping and then roofing. DO NOT USE.

Very misleading. As other mentioned, not a real company, but a referral service which I don't like as they take finders fee from businesses. Fake and fraudulent website.

Will not work with. I was looking for a local company. Come to find out that this is a "BROKER" for a lack of better words that shops many people. Think of shopping for the best price - they source out your info and have multiple people call you. No longer interested. FAKE

This is not a real company. They take your information and then send someone out that is not from Powell and Sons. In fact they sent out a representative from Dreamstyle Remodeling. When I questioned Dreamstyle Remodeling, they said they have never even heard of Powell & Sons. BEWARE!

When I searched for Sprinkler repair it's rigged so you get what looks to be a company in your area specifically able to provide sprinkler repairs. However, they are just a front end that tries to match you with some local service provider. Bottom line is I requested service and never heard a thing. Will never use PowellandSons again.

I have, on several occasions, looked for someone to do work for me. Each time, Powell & Sons takes info from me and I never hear from them. They are a front for Angie's list. After contacting Powell & Sons I am bombarded by angie's list. I won't hire anyone that is in any way connected to Angie's List...
