They also take care of the recurring bills that require time-consuming setup for payment. I upload the invoices, and they process them and prepare them for payment within a day or two.

Our firm hired Proper AI and was told that we would be speaking with English speakers in the States. We then came to realize that our accountants were all from Mexico and could barely speak any english. We had to get an interpreter just to speak with the accountants in our zoom meetings. They failed on all of the numbers causing me to go back and have to correct all of the accounting. It was an absolute nightmare. I gave them an opportunity to correct and then it came back worse. I terminated them because they could not give me accurate numbers multiple times. They came back and hired a collection agency to collect 6100 for terminating early. I paid them up to the point that I terminated them. I would not recommend them nor do I understand why they feel entitled to money for termination after they hurt my business.

Sounded to good to be true and it was.
We interviewed three remote accounting firms and went with Proper.ai after speaking with another client. The sales pitch was amazing. We hoped for 80% to 90% success but it fell way short. We paid for an audit of our accounting which generated a list of items to be addressed as part of the startup but very few of the issues were ever corrected. We went through three different account managers and two customer success managers. Lots of mistakes. The worst was the entry of hundreds of payables marked as paid that were not actually paid resulting in suspended accounts and disconnected utilities. What we received was far from what was promised. We spent more hours cleaning up mistakes than we saved. Months after cancelling service we are still correcting errors.

Great sales team, horrible company. Yeah, we got tricked, which was my fault. They said all the right stuff during the sales call and I wanted to believe them so bad that I talked myself into it. BIG mistake. I could write a dissertation on our experience, but I'll just give the meat and potatoes. They are not equipped to provide bookkeeping services to anybody. Everything was a struggle from the day we started onboarding. 6 months later and we finally had to cut them off. Worse off than we were before, and spent a lot of money with them in the process. Even with the discounts they gave us for admittedly being terrible. About 2 months into it we had to have a conversation with the owner, and he flat out told us that they fired a bunch of people for not doing anything and unfortunately we had to suffer because of it. On of them was our client services manager. So they offered us a 20% discount for 3 months. I told them that paying for 80% of nothing was not acceptable and the owner said that they would come up with something more comparable. Never heard a word from him after that. We got tossed around to 3 different teams in 6 months. The one thing they did do mostly right was enter bills. Yes, the same thing that Appfolio's AI does for you. Whatever your current struggle or situation is, do not hire this company, you will be worse off. Read their other reviews. Any positive ones are either old or fake. All of the employees that we came in contact with were polite, which makes me feel bad that they work there. But not bad enough to keep paying them for a subpar service. Frauds.
