During the night of the 15th Feb 2020, storm Denis arrived in South Wales that brought a huge volume of rain but to make matter much much worse, further up the welsh valleys, unknown to us, large reservoirs were already over flowing and at a dangerous level.,
A decision was made (right or wrong) to release the reservoir gates which sent down a tusimu 5ft deep down the river Taff flooding all the villages nearby with nearly 5 feet of contaminated (sewage) water.

The next day we still could not get to our office due to all roads being blocked by police.
The following day we open the office to find an horrendous sight, the water had started to reside but a 3 inch thick mud and slime remained. Later together with my tenants we tried to sort out the mess. everything was ruined, Computers, telephones, office equipment, personal belongings everything was damaged beyond repair.

The tenants asked me about my plan but I had nothing I was gutted and didn't know what to do apart from phoning my insurer but all the lines were jammed with other flood victims, it was at this time that a Mr Simon Colburn poped in to ask if he could help, he was very nice and reassuring, offering his past experiences of flood victims then after a further chat he left me his card.

When my insurer sent out their loss adjuster I felt very strongly that I would not get a true figure of compensation needed. The loss adjuster reckoned that due to normal wear and tear the damage would be in the early £22,000 or so but this I thought was very low considering all the damage done but I had no experience to go on, as I kept Simon's card, I rang him, he came around very quickly considering how many victims he was dealing with, Simon set out how his company works and diligently went thru the various scenarios, all the pro's and con's with plan of all of my options.

I'm so glad I made the right choice and signed up to Simon's company, Property Claim Assist as their job as I saw it was to ensure I received the very fairest of damage compensation if not more for all the stress and strain.

During the damage repair process Gary Rogers who is Simon's partner, was in touch constantly by phone and email, between them they ensured all the work was agreed and completed in a timely manner, I had the office fully dried out, the building structure made sound, with preparation for a team of various skilled builders to start and finish all the work to a high std,. during al this Simon & Gary were constantly keeping me inform when all the works were to be done and discussed issues with the insurers.

Finally the total bill of works for my damaged office was over £83,000 well above the £22,000 initially offered.
So I would fully recommend anyone who has suffer fire and flooding to instruct Simon & Gary's team to off you all the hassle involved and make sure you are fully and fairly compensated.

29th June 2020 was a black Monday for the Osondu's family living at 136 Broomhill Road, Strood Rochester, Kent UK. It was a day mysterious fire gutted our house - a fire that more than five(5) Fire Engines failed to put out, and we were made homeless in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. All hope was lost in the dark cloud until a man called Simon Colburn turned up.

He introduced himself as our Insurance Negotiator, and moved quickly to instil hope, and reassure us that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. He worked relentlessly to ensure that our Insurer took over the payment of our hotel bills until a temporary accommodation was found. Throughout his dealings with us, he showed a high degree of competency, reliability and honesty. Simon, to our family, became the voice of the powerless. We have found him to be a man whose integrity cannot be reproached.
