Hello, my name is David Rose. I’ve been working for Protocol Education From since 2012. I’ve done plenty of long-term and short-term work with them, and it’s really has been an amazing experience. The consultant I’ve been with now for almost 10 years is John sayell he’s got plenty of work for me mostly long-term. i’ve always found John honest and hard-working and he always finds me the exact jobs I want at the right time.

After graduating I was looking for a role to suit my qualifications and Oliver was really helpful throughout the whole experience into getting in the agency and made everything smooth and easy and kept me up to date during the process would definitely recommend.

I have worked for Middlesbrough Protocol since easter 2025, however I have previously worked for the company in 2018-2020 as a teacher and I have had an amazing experience with them. In particular Helen and Gill have taken the time to get to know me and find work which is suitable for me and what I am interested in. They also work tirelessly to match students to the tutors they think will work the best together. It has not always been smooth sailing however I know both Helen and Gill have my back and have supported me throughout this journey. Really glad I came back to work with protocol.

Excellent company to work for.I am very happy in my role but if guidance or advice is needed, my consultant Gill is always there for me.Making a difference in a student's life is so rewarding and every one of my placements have been perfect for me. I would never go elsewhere.

I first contacted the Newcastle office before summer looking for a full time role come September. I got a role in a school and still there now... loving it!

By gone days... This seems to be a reasonable company, but just avoid like the plague now.... one of the staff Megan Beard has been catastrophic... if she approaches you... do not engage... when it comes to referencing she will repeatedly badger your people even when they have provided references she will continue badgering them until they don't want anything to do with you. She will not provide details of her manager and will not provide detail details of how to complain.. honestly there are heaps of agencies out there all of them better than this one

I have been having a great experience with Protocol Education since January 2023, in particular with one of the staff members, Siobhan Rose. She’s always friendly, supportive and quick to find me a suitable placements. Her communication is clear and reliable, and she genuinely cares about matching me with the right schools. It’s been a pleasure working with her and I truly appreciate the effort she puts into her role.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
Unprofessional, complete lack of empathy, made promises they couldn’t keep and cost me money and time. There are better agencies to use than this one, so save yourself the torture.

My experience with this agency has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

I clearly explained from the beginning that my goal was to secure a teaching role that would allow me to fulfil my teacher status. Instead a consulate placed me in a one-to-one role that did not support my career goals. When I raised this concern, rather than helping me find a suitable role, I was simply passed on to another agent without any real support or guidance.

Communication with the agency has been poor, with unanswered calls and difficulty reaching staff. I was also underpaid for my level of experience. On one shift, I was hired as a teaching assistant but asked to carry out cleaning toilet tasks, which was inappropriate and unprofessional.

Overall, I found the agency unsupportive and unprofessional. I would not recommend them to teachers who are serious about progressing in their careers.

They make you go and attend in person which is a waste as much of the other agencies do online registration. However I was given information and registration was quick but I would have preferred to do it online.

They obviously are not even looking or reading cvs. Extremely rude and unprofessional in their first contact in emails. I decided to block them and not even go close to them.

Five out of ten Protocol!

I have known Protocol for more than twenty years. I have more than thirty years teaching experience and in the last six or so years the company has never got me a single “gig” often offering potential work and then not following through. As an agency I expect it to source teaching work. Yet, Protocol have let me down time and time, over and over again! And appear incapable of getting one even temp work. Additionally, no follow up, no explanation. No reason for why they have been unsuccessful!

This is not a professional way of conducting business…

I had an extremely positive experience with your Sheffield branch. The team went out of their way to support me in my job search and paid close attention to my preferences. I’ve spoken with Jim, Sophie and Katie - they are always helpful and supportive when handling queries. They genuinely care about their clients and candidates. Full marks!

Unprofessional people who have absurd entry requirements for minimum wage teaching assistant positions. They don't know what they are doing half the time, can't give you a straight answer and just waste your time. Avoid!
