ProWritingAid understands me!

They keep me on my toes with my writing, and when I have a problem, they are right there to help me. They were prompt and so very kind and helpful. I highly recommend.

Google Docs doesn't receive the proper corrections; it shuffles text forward and back, causing more errors.

I like the features, but I feel like this should be a paid app, as most of the features cannot be used unless you have a premium membership, which I cannot get at the moment.

Expensive, scammy site with little to no customer service. You pay a large annual fee to access a product that you also need to buy credits to use many of the features. Terrible gross, predatory product. They rely on an unpaid user community to do the work of customer service. Gross practices. It's a subscription too plus they want you to buy credits to use features.

Do not provide what they have promised - they say they will 'give' 1 writing free credit on sign up, and if you sign onto their expensive pro plans, you will get 3 credits.
After signing onto their expensive pro plan, they refuse to provide the additional credits but instead push you to buy the expensive credits (USD 50 ea).
NO customer service response from multiple request.

I like how much feedback options Writing aid has. What I kind of dislike is that everything is paywall blocked. My manuscript is filled with blue lines that I cannot remove because I need premium.

A great tool for an author such as myself, I can compare my work to that of previously successful authors. My problem isn't necessarily with the tool itself, more so the limits I have to suffer because I can't afford a premium subscription

I'm a Scrivener fan but wanted to try the ProWritingAid add-on to Scrivener. It's pretty bad tbh. The rephrasing options are terrible; they are based only on the sentence, missing context and voice completely. Not worth a subscription and buying AI tokens. The prompts to think about your story are useful as is the timer.

It helps a lot but half feedback is behind a pay wall and also it can be a little inaccurate at times. However, it has helped me a lot with my writing, and also has scheduled times so I can be consistent.

The company seems to understand writers better than almost any other.

The people who helped design this tool seem to really care for the working writer. And even hobbyists that only write for themselves get their money's worth with the programs provided.

I really love the chapter critiques and all the actual tools provided. Though there probably should be improvements in clarity and more directness for how the critiques work.

That and the report system probably need to be tweaked and updated. How though? I'm not completely sure.

But besides that, everything else is a treat to me.

Just made the switch from Grammarly, and all I can say is, wow! It doesn't just give you fish; it actually teaches you what bait to use, where to go, when to go, and what rod is best for your grip.

Love how professional your Story turns into once you use ProWritingAid. This is essential for every writer.

I've been using ProWritingAid for a few years, and I love it. It's super helpful to get my grammar right, but also taught me to write better with less throat clearing and fluff.

Annoying. The pop-up windows are just where I'm typing. The red lines appear everywhere. Grammarly is a more intuitive, more comprehensive, more helpful app by far.

I'm a storywriter and I use ProWritingAid to edit. I think it comes in handy (I use the free function). The only thing that bothers me is that the experience is not the same as the paid version and that some things don't work with the free version.
A recommendation, add a search bar, so when people don't know where to find something, they can search it up and find it faster

This is a rather incompetent tool that made considerably more errors with its suggestions than it fixed. It has no awareness of dialogue or context.

It tries to force gender neutral language even when specifically referring to a man or woman.

Despite setting it to British English, it still tries to force American spelling and grammar conventions.

I dislike that different age groups might receive incorrect advice. If I had to rate it out of ten, I would give it a ten out of ten. I also dislike that I always get the impression that only paying users can see that I'm using it for free, and I don't like that.
