Quick delivery, good product

Had a blow out on a busy road and the mechanic showed up within the hour.
Got me back on the road in November time.

It’s never good to order from a company that has nearly 50% of one star reviews on Trustpilot.
I wish I had looked on here first, but being the RAC, you expect better.
I’m glad I have breakdown cover with Greenflag, at least things get sorted with them.
Anyway enough winging.
I ordered an item. I received it next day (Great). I opened the item & realised I’d ordered the wrong item. I spoke with the RAC customer services about a return and was given the address and details of how to send it back, no mention of anything else.
I sent it back at a cost £6 & then received an email saying that wouldn’t refund it if the seal was broken. (To late, as it had already been sent back).
I’ve now had the item sent back & delivered to me again, with no note and no explanation of why it’s been sent back to me. So I called them again, only to be told that because the seal had been broken, the item could not be returned.
I find this unexceptionable, as the item hadn't been used & was still brand new & in its box. I could understand if the item had been used, but it hadn’t. I’d simply made a mistake when ordering and an even bigger mistake by ordering from the RAC. A mistake I WON’T make again.
I was going to order the item I did need from them, but after the terrible service I have received, I will now take my money elsewhere. They won't even refund the £6 it cost me to return the item, even though it was their fault for not informing me it couldn't be returned until a day later, after it had been sent back. SHAMEFUL

From the online chat questions through to delivery of the product was an excellent service. The chat agent was really helpful, the product was as described and delivery was efficient.

Ordered the Road Angel Vision 3 dashcam and it arrived quite quickly. I had the fitting booked in and they called to arrange an early date which was good. RC connect fitted the dashcam in about an hour or so and tve guy was very good. You have to get the SD card programmed via a lap top which I don't have so a friend is doing that. The fitter called me a couple of days after fitting to check if all was OK. Good product.

The description of the product was spot on. Sometimes the product arrived and doesn't fit. These car mats were great! Good quality and smart looking.

Easy to order and arrived very quickly

Car battery failed while on holiday in the middle of nowhere, in the outer reaches of the UK. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were due to drive home the following day. I purchased the battery and it was fitted and my car completely fixed within 2.5 hours. Nice chap came to fit it too! Thank you RAC shop. You saved me and my family from an awful lot of stress!

Item described, arrived on time.

Very disappointed with the quality of the car mats I received today. I ordered the 'Super Deluxe' which were no better than the cheap ones I had before from Carmats4u. They did not fit well either and I doubt that they are 1500 gsm. These cost twice the amount of the mats from Carmats4u and, as RAC is a trusted name, I was hoping for really good quality mats.

I bought these can matts at recommendation of my parents who had them in there car. The Matt fits like a glove looks really professional can't speak any higher about it would 100% buy again.

Delivered quickly .

I order some reversing sensors. I got initial confirmation email but then no updates. I rang racshop after a week who said they would speak to supplier and email me that day with an update but nothing. I rang them the next day asking for a refund which they said they would do and confirm via email. Again nothing so I complained via PayPal and they sorted it. I am surprised the RAC is associated with them. They are simply using the logo to add credibility it seems.

Fast efficient on time and I think the car was cleaner when the auto electrician had finished

If I could give 0 I would. Absolute joke of a company. I ordered front and rear cameras, fitted from the RAC. I got an email confirming my order. Now, call me stupid, but when ordering from the RAC I had expected an RAC person to arrive on the day with the cameras ready to fit. Oh no, nothing so simple… I started to receive emails from a company called RS Connect regarding the fitting of the camera, I was surprised, but went with it. I then missed a delivery three times from APC, I emailed them as I wasn’t expecting a delivery asking them to redeliver the parcel but to come to my back door and that I was in but working from home. They wouldn’t do this. I asked who the parcel was from and they replied with, Coleman Automotive, who I have never heard of and have never ordered from. This missed delivery was apparently the cameras and that the fitting company don’t bring with them. The RAC don’t bother to mention any of this at point of ordering and, having spoken with a customer service advisor I was told, and I quote ‘that’s not relevant information’!!! I beg to differ. I asked if the cameras could be delivered direct to the fitters…the advisor said…but they’ll need the cameras first!! I know, that’s why I’d like the camera delivered direct to them. But the RAC can’t do that either. I’m now wondering when the delivery will be reattempted as the RAC also can’t give a date. Unsure how I’m meant to wait for a delivery when I have no clue when it’s due. So, because of the RAC’s lack of ‘irrelevant’ information my time has been wasted, APC’s time has been wasted and the fitters time has been wasted. And I’ve wasted a days annual leave. I’m fuming.

UPDATE: When the cameras finally arrived with me and the fitter was able to come back, the fitting was swift, he did a lovely job, couldn’t tell where he’d been or what he’d had to remove and refit to hide all the wires etc. I’m still trying to master the cameras themselves, but that’s a me issue. I’m just sorry the poor fitter had a wasted journey the first time. Did feel a little better when he advised me that this had happened before where the delivery of the cameras is concerned. I think this is the problem when you have three companies in the mix - the camera supplier, the camera fitter and a third party (RAC)with whom you place the order. I think better communication would prevent this arising. I give the fitter 5 stars. I’d give the camera supplier 5 stars, but I’d definitely give the RAC 2 stars on this.
