This has made me sad just googled Raffles to get another dog from them. I bought my dog Bambi she is a beautiful dog she is nearly 6yrs I have never had any problems at all I couldnt ask for a more beautiful well behaved healthy dog she is my world and the best dog ever.

We lost our beautiful dog far too young — please think carefully before buying from here.
We bought our lovely cockapoo, Bertie, from Raffles in 2019 for £2,500. He was a gentle, affectionate soul who brought endless joy to our lives. Tragically, we lost him at just 6 years old due to serious spinal issues. Our vet believes these were likely the result of poor breeding practices — something we've sadly discovered has happened to other dogs from this breeder too.

Toward the end of his life, we were also left with a vet bill of over £4,000, doing everything we could to manage his condition and keep him comfortable. He deserved so much more.

At the time, Raffles appeared to be a reputable and experienced breeder. But after Bertie’s health declined, we began to learn about serious concerns: high-volume breeding, expired or transferred licences, lack of proper health testing, and many other owners reporting heartbreakingly similar experiences.

We can’t get Bertie back, but we can share our story in the hope that it might help others make a more informed decision.

If you're looking for a puppy, please ask difficult questions — about health testing on both parents, how the puppies are raised, how many litters are bred, and what aftercare is offered. A responsible breeder will be transparent and genuinely care where their puppies go.

Bertie deserved better. So do all dogs.

I bought my girl in 2017..very naively! Raffles is nothing but a puppy farm and not even glorified. I don't think they even hide it. When we pulled on the drive there were hundreds of dogs in a small area to the right. We didn't get to see Mum with the litter. She was very briefly carried in and swept away again just as quickly. My girl was beautiful but sadly as we got her home the problems started. She had kennel cough and also blood in her poo. Alison said it was normal but a Google search suggested not after a couple of days. This went on for weeks and cost a small fortune at the vets! She was anxious,and didn't toilet train. Sadly I had to re home her to my friend. Molly died yesterday,so I'm feeling a little emotional writing this. She was only 7 so no age at all. Please please please do your research. Don't be fooled by the posh website and set up. These people are basically putting money before the wellbeing of puppies. I've always had dogs. Working dogs,so cockers,springers and GSP's..but my pup from Raffles was such a bad experience and it's a shame as like I said she was a lovely girl. I believe Raffles was closed down and re named Humpreys.

Our Arthur is the nicest dog, loving, well behaved and friendly. We got him in 2016 and Have never had any issues with the breeders. I am shocked by the negative reviews on here and felt I should have my say. He is much admired by other cockapoo owners who say that he is what they wanted when they got one but the breeders round here are churning out neurotic small things that I would not want.

This business is highlighted in the March 2024 List of deliberate tax defaulters, having been landed with a £1.8 million tax bill. Some karma at least.

Fraudulent disgusting vile humans - mark, his wife, son and daughter in law! Cruelty to animals at the highest level! Just close a business when the heat gets too much and open another! Bad examples of parents teaching their offspring to lie steal and cheat! Mark is greedy on all levels! Money their only aim! Be patient everyone as it will close up on them one day - karma will bite them! Sadly these poor animals will continue to be their victims until they can stuff their pockets no more and they are brought down! Diseased puppies, puppies with behavioural issues, puppies sourced from Europe. Low life is too kind a word. Save your money and check all areas when you buy. Best to check reviews and companies house HMRC.

They are a puppy farm and owe hundreds of thousands in tax! AVOID.

Bought our amazing puppy Tula in 2017 and despite her never having any physical problems or health issues, she has had some evident behavioural issues, snapping at other dogs and barking at random men who all look simelair. The parents were carried to us and were evidently overweight and we did not see where the puppies lived and were cared for. Despite this, the apparent brother of our puppy had a rupture in his stomach not long after leaving raffles, and we are not even sure the pair are related as they look very dissimilar and Tula was already registered to a vet in Tarvin, which her “sibling” was not. We can have no regrets as our dog is amazing and we love her however please do not ignore the bad reviews. Something very wrong has been happening to these dogs under these people’s care.

Edit June 2023: I took Raffles Cockapoos to court and they were ordered to pay me the vet fees and my legal costs. Currently the enforcement authorities are collecting the debt from them which today is closer to £11 000,00. I'm not giving up until every single pence is paid back to me.

Original review I wrote in 2021: My experience with Raffles Cockapoos became a nightmare just a few days after collecting my beautiful cockapoo puppy, Louisa, who was admitted to intensive care in the animal hospital. She fought for her life against kennel cough pneumonia (swap test was positive for Bordetella bacteria in her lungs) AND giardiasis (giardia parasite). As a first time puppy buyer I ignored all the red flags (not seeing where the puppies and parents really live and sleep, alleged mom and dad carried to me to be shown - both covered in saw dust, paying before seeing the my pup etc, getting advised that it's normal for a puppy to have diarrhea etc...). I was devastated to find out so many other Raffles Cockapoos customers had been sold sick puppies and kennel cough and giardia were among the most common illnesses reported, when I thought I had bought from a decent breeder. When I confronted the breeder about the illnesses and the number of similar cases I was aware of, they claimed and lied to my face that no other pup had been ill and were unwilling to help with vet fees which exceeded over £5000. The breeder had the wildest and funniest nonsense theories of how my pup had contracted both her illnesses, after leaving their premises of course 😉. We did not get the 4 weeks insurance by the breeder which was supposed to be included in the price so I ended up paying everything alone. I had to chase them with many emails before I even got a reply, and they insisted to handle everyhting on the phone so they wouldn't leave any written evidence behind! Clearly, just by reading these reviews, my puppy wasn’t the only ill one and the breeder lied to me about it, when they could have saved my puppy’s life by sharing information with our vets. My puppy nearly died, because of their unprofessionalism and they don't care. Instead, the breeder decided to act childish and ignore me, advising me to get a lawyer. So much for the lifelong support they claim to offer lol!

My pup was born and bought in 2019 and her litter was just one of the over 200 litters they produced that year. They claimed to be a home breeder licensed for 48 breeding dogs but later confessed that they have external breeding arrangements (which means dogs and puppies are trafficked), alloying them to achieve the volume of litters and puppies they were churning out. I'm an animal lover and I can't bare to think what is going on behind the scenes of this huge business. I'm so relieved they got exposed!

Thanks to our vets, after months of treatment, my puppy made a full recovery and is the most wonderful dog I could had ever wish for. However, it breaks my heart that she had to spend her early puppy months back to back at the animal hospital and totally missed the most crucial puppy socialization period. She's a very nervous pup and scared of anything and everything, but I have learned to understand that her behaviour results from her early days trauma.

Beware of Humphries Poos - same concept with the recently retired breeders' son in charge of the puppy business.

I’d leave zero review if possible. Avoid this company at all costs they take your money and don’t provide the goods then don’t respond to the numerous emails you send to them!
Scammers, absolutely disgusting that they think they can get away with it

Don’t be taken in by the sleek website. This is a glorified puppy farm. Our cockapoo who is now 2 years old has severe behavior problems and has turned our lives upside down. We love him dearly but we can’t cope and have decided to rehome. Our highly qualified and experienced dog behaviourist has worked with cockapoos from this breeder before even though it’s located miles away from our county. That says a lot about the scale of this operation as well as the misery they cause to dogs and their owners.

I placed my order on the 9th of September 2022 and still have not received my order. This is absolutely outrageous considering that I also sent emails to this company and had no response. As far as I am aware this is not a reliable or maybe even not genuine company. I also could not see a phone number on this website and could not contact anyone by phone. Please be aware of this and avoid buying from this site unless you have some spare money that you wish to gift to this company. Dreadful experience!

Dreadful….. Dreadful….. Dreadful ! On no account order anything from Raffles Cockapoos. Placed an order that was not fulfilled….. took my money but no goods sent. Repeatedly asked for goods or full refund, no response……..

One star is too much. PLEASE DO NOT buy a puppy. Mark should rot in hell. They are greedy conmen.

We had nothing but trouble. Bought a cavapoo - well he wasn't!!!!!! We had such an ill dog who almost died. He had a gut issue and had to get out quickly to the toilet. He was then no longer suitable for our home as we couldn't be there 24/7. We had to take the heartbreaking and devastating decision to rehome him. Broke my daughter's heart. She was devastated.

These people don't care about dogs or people. Posh crooks through and through. 100 % it's a POSH PUPPY FARM. Hope one day they get everything they deserve!!!!

Ordered from their shop in September and my order was never received I have emailed them about this issue and they haven’t even bothered replying to me

My personal experience with the online shop is atrocious and I would never recommend. It took 7 emails to get my refund.

I had ordered goods, there was no contact from them to advise they didn't get the goods, I had to chase repeatedly. Eventually after nearly 4 weeks of chasing and emails , which mostly didn't make sense ,
a refund was issued.

Will never deal with this company again.

My puppy is sick hads many illnesses and has cost me a fortune at the vets. The 'breaders' don't care.
Vets says it looks like I've been scammed by people who do not look after their dogs, poor breeding conditions.

Do not order from their online shop.
Placed an order 8/9/22 they have taken payment and not delivered anything, they do not respond to emails and have not refunded me.

Visited Humphries today who ate associated with Raffles. Prior to visit I was sent 2 photos of available cavapoochons. After almost 3 hour journey I was shown one puppy which bore no resemblance to the photo and it looked in poor condition. This led us to doubt the provenance of the second puppy. The "mother" was carried in and was hugely overweight. The vendor eventually admitted he had sent the wrong photo, but not without argument. This is a very smart set up with slick marketing. We walked out after 10 minutes bitterly disappointed with our experience and sad for the puppies. Avoid at all cost.

After an initial post in February 2021 when I warned people that Raffles is a posh puppy farm, now called Humphreys, I am writing to update my comment. At 4 and a half years old my little Raffles girl has developed serious digestive disorders which have been ongoing for the past 8 months and cost a total of over £5,000. She can only eat fresh salmon and rice with a little bit of carrot that I cook daily. It is expensive but of course I will do it if it helps her. I recommend people check out a Facebook site called Raffles and humphries cockapoos where hundreds of people relate their experience and many people have lost dogs at a very young age because of similar problems. I feel guilty that I lined their pockets and was taken in by their marketing but please look elsewhere if you want a cockapoo that has been carefully bred for health and temperament.
