Lens firmware updated
I took a lens in for a while-you-wait firmware update. The receptionist took my lens and told me that the service would be between 40 minutes and an hour. I told the receptionist that I would wait in the waiting area, and was told they would inform me when my lens was ready. After an hour and 10 minutes I decided to go and ask how they were getting on with my lens. A different receptionist (who was covering the original's lunch break) told me that actually my lens was ready. I think they forgot about me. Firmware update was fine. Lens still has the same error. Not their fault. My day ended up a little later than I hoped. Not really a big deal, but also can't quite bring myself to give them 5 stars either.

Your staff was excellent in understanding my frustration into why it took to long for repair nearly 3 months which was Sony fault which I understand and Katrina near the end kept me updated so pleased to get it back just a day before my nephew wedding on the next day so thank you Katrina making it possible for it to be ready

Extremely disappointed by the lack of…
Extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and helpfulness in general when there were delays with my repair. Whilst the delays themselves were understandable, I was not regularly updated. In the end it took 6 months to get my lens back.

Unfortunately the delay was caused by Sony parts being on long-term back order. Our records show updates were sent in January, March, and April advising that the required part was still unavailable from Sony, before the repair was finally completed in May once the parts arrived. We completely understand that a six-month wait is frustrating, even when the delay is outside of our control.
We appreciate your patience throughout and apologise that the level of communication did not meet your expectations.

Very professional service
As a professional you know where to go. I have multiple lenses so no rush. Very smooth from start to finish. Canon 24-70 that had taken well over 1 million photos came back like new.

Excellent service from Wex
Wex Repair provided an excellent service. I was kept informed when my camera had been collected from the drop off point to delivery at their premises. I received a repair estimate quickly and my camera was back with me within a week. I had a couple of queries during this time and my phone calls were answered quickly and dealt with to my satisfaction.

Full frame (walk-in) sensor clean
This was a full frame (walk-in) sensor clean. The end result was excellent but getting there took perseverance. On arrival at the service counter I was told that 'the system' was down with the implication that service that day may not be possible. Having travelled 1.5hrs, that wasn't a welcome greeting! The camera was nevertheless accepted on the basis that 'the system' would return.
Cleaning was completed in the stated time of 1.5hrs after which I checked for dust spots before leaving. Whilst it was hugely better there were still a few spots so the technicians took the camera back and were able to remove those too. But folks, the customer shouldn't be doing the quality control, should they?

On the day of your visit we experienced a temporary internet outage due to building works nearby, which affected the booking-in process but not the turnaround time for the sensor clean itself. We also apologise that further cleaning was required after your initial inspection. While we were glad the remaining spots could be removed before you left, we fully understand your point and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Repaired a Canon lens that was discontinued
They repaired a Canon lens that the manufacturer no longer repaired because it had been discontinued. So I was over the moon that they would do it, especially as it was a small issue for an otherwise very good quality lens. Cost was fair and once repaired it was shipped back really quickly.
It would have been nice for a bit more communication during the repair process as it went silent for a few weeks. I would also have been open to the idea of paying more for an urgent turnaround option. But these are minor things, I'm just happy the lens was repaired. Will use them again!

Really glad to get my lens back …
Really glad to get my lens back after a delay caused by the courier (DPD). I'm not convinced I got the same box back although the packing box it was enclosed in had some damage to it so that may have damaged what was a brand new lens box. The lens looks great and works really well in a quick test. I'd use Fixation again but try make sure that the courier used can deliver as promised. I missed using this lens as I wanted to on our holiday because the courier didn't pick up and deliver as expected.
