Nick from Retrofit West provided a free home visit and advice on sorting out the damp at my house in Bristol. The impartial advice he gave has given me a lot more confidence on what route to take, and likely saved me a lot of money and hassle.

Nathan came to the property and provided insightful and impartial advice to help resolve issues raised with my initial request. His follow up communication has been clear and thorough and has enabled a further inspection by his colleague Matt. This service has been invaluable and offered useful techniques.

Nathan was very helpful suggesting ways to draughtproof the house, sending a link on how to adjust the upvc doors and windows to get a better fit and other advice, he has since been in contact with another helpful tip. Pleased that I got to hear of Retrofit.

The advice Matt gave was very useful and I was more impressed that he has also real property maintenance experience that meant his advise was more relevant. Also, the visit and advise was free. Matt came to our house and saw what it was we wanted to do, so could see the issues we were trying to overcome gave us ideas that made sense. One we have implemented already - it was DIY and the other we have got lined up to do with the help of a carpenter in the summer.

Nathan was extremely helpful in suggesting solutions for the ventilation issues in our bathroom and kitchen.
The report arrived on the same day of his visit with links to recommended contractors. Nathan also sent a follow up email offering further support and guidance.

Matt spent over two hours with us on a Sunday taking us through the options and helping us to prioritise our limited budget on the best options for energy bills, air quality and carbon reduction. We'd already had advice from a SAP assessment and tradespeople but Matt was able to answer the questions they couldn't. An amazing service.

We first saw Retrofit West on a stand at a local community event and asked their advice which was really useful and pitched at the right level. We had a good knowledge of energy saving technology and solutions in some areas, but were not that knowledgeable in others, so they listened and adapted to our questions well.

We later booked a, surprisingly free, visit to our home to look at our insulation and energy saving set up. Matt was brilliant, he gave loads of advice and tips from his own experience and knowledge of the industry.
The next day, we received a comprehensive write up of the visit with suggestions on what we could do next. This was very useful and we refer back to it when we research the options available to us. The Retrofit West website also has some useful links and contacts for suppliers, but you aren’t under any pressure or obligation to use them.
Matt has continued to offer support and help via email, but has not been intrusive or excessive in his contacts.

This was a great experience and a fantastic service that can be used by people starting their energy saving journey, or are at an advanced stage and want advice on where to go next.

Matt was extremely thorough, knowledgeable and provided lots of insights and tips to improve home energy efficiency. Some of these were very inexpensive but there was also advice relating to questions regarding next steps for options like heat pumps and solar panels.

Matt is extremely approachable and knowledgeable. He explains the issues and options clearly and is genuinely committed to helping you find a practical and affordable solution.

A very useful visit good advice on reducing damp through good ventilation, fabric / drainage improvement and more continual heating at a lower temp.

The adviser from Retrofit West who came to my house was on time, courteous and clearly very knowledgeable about a broad range of issues relating to energy and heat loss. We made a detailed assessment of my situation and gave relevant advice.

Matt gave us a very comprehensive report with lots of very useful pointers tailored to our specific circumstances and with an impressively short turn-around. Our house has suffered extensive fire damage and is without a roof. He turned up on a cold November Sunday afternoon and was very thorough in his assessment including independent advice on things not directly related to a renewables system and which are now incorporated into the schedule of work for our rebuild. Top Marks!
